I passed this one up, got home and started thinking about it, then had to make a special trip back to Target. 😅 But that's nothing new, I do that at least once a month.
@@OneLastCrusader Thanks for checking out my video. You won't regret picking him up. I like him more and more as I play with him and time moves on. I enjoyed the Super7 ReAction figures for what they are, and I bought the new Super7 Kaiju Deluxe figure which is same scale and near price range. These are WAY better. I still think it's a bit expensive at $25 and should be $20, but its a quality toy. It's built with play in mind while still looking good. If they make more Kaiju beside Godzilla, I will fully go in on this line. I still think the NECA figures were the best quality for the money and wish they kept the license. They had just nailed perfectly articulated tails when they lost it. Let me know what you think of him after a good play session if you remember. I'd love to hear thoughts on it.
@@MightyThorngren Sure thing! I'm an old school Godzilla fan, I remember them mostly being hard plastic or soft vinyl, the whacky dated toys. About 6 months ago I picked up the '56 Godzilla that's about 10" tall, he's just too goofy and fun to not have as a centerpiece. I'm currently looking for the Mecha to go along with the one in the video, so wish me luck. 👍🏻
@@OneLastCrusader check out my review for the Mechagodzilla from Super7 I uploaded last week. It's a pretty neat figure, but a little expensive which knocks it down in my assessment of it. It's the only 90s MechaG I've come across. Depends which version you want. The Kiryu from this line is pretty rad and the Movie Monster series has a solid 70s Mechagodzilla with limited articulation. I really dig the half transformed 70s MechaG Super7 did for their ReAction line, but that's nowhere on this scale.
@@mechanwhal6590 and at this price point too! The effect holds much more solid than any other Godzilla figure I've gotten to date too (I don't own any Hiya yet though). It fell out initially in my video, but I just didn't have it fully in. As you could see after I first popped it off, when I got it back in properly, it stays in good and doesn't weigh his head down. No flight-stand for effect needed. I really like this guy, and only more so as I've had a few days to play with him and mess around. He's like a super high quality Playmates figure, and I mean that in the best way possible. I really hope they go all in on this line and make other Toho Kaiju too.
@@mechanwhal6590 this very much feels like a mix between old NECA and current Playmates. I say go for it. My view of the figure has only improved since recording the video. I realize the price point just reflects the current economy, but I do think the select spot for price would be $15-$20. But it seems on par with the last Marvel Legends I bought, which was $26 at Target. His joints all move well and his neck holds up the beam in all poses. I just wish his jaw opened wider with the regular mouth, but he's aces otherwise for the price.
@@Evolved_Godzilla_2024-b1sAgreed that would be rad, I would love to see more versions of Godzilla. But would really like to see other Kaiju more. If we are to get more Godzillas, I would dig a curveball of unmade versions like the 70s Marvel Comics version, the Hanna Barbara cartoon version, Villa or Super Godzilla. I would also take an all Gold version of Minus 1 re-released haha. Thanks for checking out my videos and sharing your thoughts. My love for this figure has only grown since getting it and I give it high marks for fun and value compared to the current market. Way better than the new Kaiju Deluxe line from Super7, which seemed to be a counter to this new Bandai Namco line.
@@nnamdisouza5642 exactly. And same price point too. A little less detailed in paint application, but the articulation makes up for it. He's super fun!
@@Knight_boy69 these really do feel like a more premium version of the Playmates figures, especially after mixing him together with figures from the line after the review. They totally work well together though. I really hope we see more Toho Kaiju in this line if it continues and not just a bunch of different Godzillas. It would be great to build a collection of the classic Toho monsters. I really appreciate the extra mouth and effect part, and that Kiryu got one too. Makes me hopeful a Mothra or Rodan will come with a flight stand.
@@NOTsevastienne I could have swore I went over size in the video. He's 6 inches tall. Scales very well with playmates kaiju figures and just slightly smaller/less bulky than the NECA figures. Thanks for checking out my figure review. I have a playlist up that collects all my Kaiju related videos, if you're not interested in my other media content. This video was part of a 31 video series I did last month
@@Dennis_Ultrakill after picking this one up, it makes me want to grab the other too. I'm a bit hesitant at the $25 price point though. I really feel these would be sweet at $15. I hope this line continues, I would love to see more Kaiju done with this articulation. Anguirus and Titanosaurus would be the ones I'd like to see next, but I know Titanosaurus is a longshot.
@@mariozsn at a fifth the price and with the best Breath effect piece I've seen in use, I would wholly agree. It's not a hyper premium figure, but it nails what it's trying to do and it's actually affordable on a normal budget.

The fact that this comes with an atomic breath effect when so many SHMA figures don’t.
