Thank you so much! I love Renaissance and medieval French and English history, so this is a perfect place to ramble about the random history tidbits I find interesting!

Such a great video! I would totally be into the renaissance shows to see the horses and falcons. Very cool! And fascinating that they had to haul in all their furniture and provisions to the chateau. I am sure it felt sparse, even with all of those people, with their hodgepodge furnishings. You know they weren’t hauling around their favorite dining table! Basically, it was camping at a chateau?! Fantastic show. Thank you!

Thank you! 😊 The king had special "moveable" furniture, which is where the French word "meubles" comes from. So it'd be like the 1500s version of serious glamping, but with, you know, crown jewels and servants 😆
You should totally go see the Horses and Birds of Prey show!

Unfortunately, the B-52 took its maiden flight in April 1952. Therefore it couldn't have crashed into the lawn in 1944. It must have been a B-17 bomber that was used during WWII.

Ah you're right...thanks! I double checked and it was a B-24 Liberator, according to the memorial there. Correction noted in the subtitles! 🙂Now if there was some way to correct the narration... 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Miles Away with us, I think you were half right because I remember you saying B52 "Liberator," although it went right over my head. 😅😂😅😂 😊

@wernerdanler2742 lol and my notes say B-24, so who knows why I blurted out B-52. I can't blame dyslexia. Maybe the 1980s band? 🤣

Salamanders are amphibians, not lizards. Salamanders were thought immune to fire, that's why Francis liked them. The chateau was lent to to a number of important people over the years, such as to Maurice Comte de Saxe, Marshall General of France, who lived and died there.

Thank you for filling in some of the extra history gaps, and the info on the emblem. 😀 And sorry...yes, my mistake--amphibians is the correct word. 👌

This is one useless hunk of stone that should never have been built. 😮
The only people that got any real benefit from it are all the people employed to build it.
