    Great review ! Here is a major warning: I booked a Premium Select round trip flight from Chicago to Douala Africa connecting in Paris. Silly me, I "assumed" that I would get the Premium seat on all four flights ! Wrong ! There was no indication before I bought the ticket that two of the flights were in Economy seats. I only found this out after I bought the ticket and was selecting my seats. If I had looked carefully at the details for each flight in small print I would have seen that in advance. But shame on Delta for not warning me. Other airlines put "Mixed Cabin" prominently when it's not all Premium seats. Just why would I pay a big price premium to sit in Economy for half my flights ????? False Advertising !!! Thankfully Delta has a 24 hour refund policy even on the non refundable tickets, so I cancelled them and went with another airline who actually gives you Premium seats on all the flights. What a concept. So when you book Delta Premium Select, read carefully ! Shame on Delta for being so misleading.

    • @MilesAwaywithUs
      @MilesAwaywithUs 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @bryannelson6139 Good point!! On long haul especially, we always start more or less by booking main cabin and then.. upgrade *just* the leg of the flight that we want to. For our spring 2025 trip, we started with main cabin, snagged a flash sale (ish) price on Delta One for *just* the overnight leg of the trip from SLC to CDG, as a treat, and on the way home we're doing main cabin again but HUGE YES - they need to make it clear if some legs of these flight don't include the premium cabins we think we're paying for at checkout... glad you caught it in time!

My original direct flight by Delta from Schipol to SLC got cancelled, so I had to go from LHR instead (I hate transfers). Base tickets were 50% more, but I lucked out and PS was like only 20% more than Main Cabin so I went with that. Also got bulkhead seats. With back issues I hope the upgraded seats are worth the extra cost (even if I got a good deal on the upgrade) :)

    Wow interesting! I was born and raised in Rouen. I no longer live there but my father still lives in the suburbs so I happen to visit the city every once in a while. Really interesting to see a place one knows so well with the eyes of an outsider. Did you know that the cathedral,of Rouen actually dates back to the 5th century AD? Not much is still there since two ulterior buildings have been built at the same location but in the crypt there are still a few remains of this antic construction. If people are fond of medieval churches, Rouen is actually the place to go in France since the city still have numerous churches dating back from the era. About Joan of Arc, there is a bridge in Rouen, the Jeanne D’Arc bridge which is located where the ashes were ditched in the riser Seine (yeah, I know, rough!). Anyway, I’m truly happy that you enjoyed the trip to the city. And you have my deepest apologies for French public bathrooms. Never try to use them in France, no French citizen would dare to use them either. I don’t know why we still have that awful places, it is a national shame here but we don’t really address the issue. Don’t know why. One final thing: there are many nearby places around Rouen that are worth visiting so feel free to rent a car and drive the area, you’ll be amazed by Normandy!

      It is SO different now. The whole trip was still really terrific, but it is sad to see how much they have discontinued, of the prior wonderful services that made getting there part of the fun. I think from now on we'll just cruise from Ft Lauderdale 😀
