This DD was perfect. I will definitely check in every day now. I have a terrible cold but taught my teenagers today since I'm not contagious. I shared this video since I'm unable to speak. It won't be repeated but you saved me this week. Thank you!
This will most likely be the last year our daughter reads scriptures. She’s fallen away but is still willing to pretend to listen for the sake of her siblings. We’re praying something touches her. We’ve been pausing Book of Mormon recordings at 15 minute increments so we can keep everyone in the room and listening. I’m very grateful to hear your idea for small chunks…this is what we’ve been looking for for a long time. I want to get as much as we can in during this last year.
Thank you so much much for this devotional. I appreciate so much your dedication in serving with the Lord by helping us out here in the Internet world, draw closer to our Saviour and Heavenly Father. May you and your family receive all of the blessings that will enable you to continue to do the those things you desire within your heart! All the best in 2025, much love from your Canadian Sister.
As i was watching this i thought about how its so easy for me to get off the path. I really havent been doing the spiritual work for a bit. Need to repent and try again. I have so many weeknesses and the mists of darkness cloud my view. I need to refocus. I pray that the Lord will help each of us in our personal battles to do the best we can and then trust in the Lord.
Thank you Brother Halverson. I do really well for a while and then I fall behind in scripture study and watching the podcasts that have come to mean so much to me. I hope that starting out my day with a daily devotional will help me keep up this year
Thank you Jared😊 My wife and I, along with our adult daughter, have been listening to all of your 'Come Follow Me' videos for 3 years now and have been thoroughly enjoying them. When you get to D.C. 9:7-9, I have a suggestion for inclusion in your lesson. The 'traditional' interpretation of those verses has never really made sense to me at all. A few years ago, I read a very interesting article on that passage with a different interpretation of that revelation to Oliver Cowdery that makes a lot more sense to me. The article can be found on the Interpreter Foundation web site. The article is called "The Faith to See: Burning in the Bosom and Translating the Book of Mormon in Doctrine and Covenants 9", by Stan Spencer. Perhaps you already know about this alternate interpretation and are already a fan of it like I am, but I thought I'd mention it to you since I like it so much. Here is the abstract from the article: Abstract: Doctrine and Covenants 9:7-9 is conventionally interpreted as the Lord’s description of the method by which the Book of Mormon was translated. A close reading of the entire revelation, however, suggests that the Lord was not telling Oliver Cowdery how to translate but rather how to know whether it was right for him to translate and how to obtain the faith necessary to do so. Faith would have enabled Oliver Cowdery to overcome his fear and translate, just as it would have enabled Peter (in Matthew 14) to overcome his fear and walk on water.

Can you give your source for the statement that Joseph told a minister about his vision right then?
The reference I'm familiar with is Joseph Smith-History 1:21.
I'm looking for a source independent from Joseph or church-produced information. Looking for an external source that corroborates what Joseph said.
@@ForHimAlone Okay.
