I'm a Southern alumnus but I have so much respect for Dr. Foster; there aren't enough adjectives to describe his impact on the entire band world. Truly a great man and a great leader.
Dr. Foster deserves every accolade ever bestowed upon him. That said I know the sound of a musical organization touched by the sublime ear of Dr. White. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Jordan Baker for introducing me to music and to Dr. White for helping me to hone my skills.
I wanna share this w/ friend ALVIN who had his first grandbaby today. 1989-1990, Winter Haven High School friends. Al used 2 give me VHS tapes of the FAMU Marching 100. This ones 4 U babe. Love ya
That vogue drill had so much drive.......I was in the 10th grade in 90', and when I saw the 100 perform the Vogue drill, the way the band marched (poppin 90's) had me sold.......
The "100" was in full effect

The 1990 "Vogue" halftime show was what sold me to become a member of the "100"

FAMU was it Shit back then...better than now...
The popular music was much better back then. : )
I agree. Dr. White was a stickler for musicality. He was (and still is) big on technique. There were two trumpet players on the staff as well.
