Elddis Avante 840 Caravan Review

- Here we review an Elddis 840 8ft caravan with space for 6. It's a 6 berth caravan the Elddis 840 caravan. This has parallel bunks at the front with a middle chest. In the middle, we have a large wrap around seating for 4/5 people. We have a full-size fridge then a large bed in the back corner. Next to this, we have a large shower area.

Nice review Paul 👍🏻, we looked at the Elddis & Buccaneer vans also in this layout but we wanted the L-shape front, it's much the same as what we have ordered like I say apart from the front. Yes I do believe that this will work for a family of 5 like yours as there's a loads of space plus the opinions for sleeping can be switched at short notice.

Hi Steve, Yes Merry christmas and a happy new year to you and your family. Yes I thought would work well for a family of 5. On the L shaped lounge I sometimes look at the Swift 630 which is normal size width and can pick up a decent 2016 which has no wood in and Alde for 19K. Thing is I think we need paralell as the L shape not big enough for two kids to sleep on without pulling the bed out. Althought could be short term. The 630 has as rear bathroom so main area is slightly shorter. Cheers for the comment.

An ice big family van, however you would need a big tug to move it. I do like the Elddis range, they look well built. Thanks for sharing Paul 🙂
It is a really big van. Yes would need a decent size tow car. Has ATC on as well so adds a little bit of comfort. Thanks for comment Martin. We have to remember that it was Elddis that started the uk obsession with the 8ft van. Probably be a couple of second hand ones knocking about for families that want a big van but don't have the money to buy a new one. Have a merry Christmas.
Can anyone honestly tell me how good or poor is the blown air heating? Heard you get terrible cold spots especially in the bathroom/ fixed bed area?
Thinking of getting this layout but the heating system is putting me off,,, can't beat alde I'd say
I don't mind blown air. If it's been installed correctly and not routed outside I find it ok. Yes the further away from boiler it's starts to struggle. To get Alde have to pay quite a bit more normally.
Lucky you finished school already. We don't finish till tomorrow. Not a fan of 8ft wide vans as I have a narrow drive. I will stick to my 7 ft 5 wide Swift Elegance!
