'Replacing the big dents with hundreds of little ones', win!
Kermit is becoming Bumblebee.
This Ladies and Chaps, is what a REAL Restoration looks like.
Thanks Maximus for the Journey.
Of course we look forward to take us through the M.O.T and a Trip around the Countryside.
Technically, being a 1978 model it’s tax and MOT exempt. Although after such an in-depth restoration it wouldn’t hurt to put it through one just to check you haven’t missed anything. Fantastic job so far though.
Mr Ironthumper showing the Art of Ironthumping! No Filler, much progress,
I am impressed. I never doubted your
vision would become a reality, Kermit
is as unique & bespoke as Mr Ironthumper,
a craft to last.
Trashed Land Rover to stunning beauty. Off the frame restoration utilitarian style, after all a real Land Rover was sought for it's ruggedness. Well done Max, I'm enjoying all your videos.
Kermit is looking mighty fine..
Its brilliant to see Kermit taking shape. I can say from experience its hard enough doing the work on a refurb like this without filming it too, thanks for sharing. The comment about replacing one big dent with hundreds of small ones cracked me up.
Proper restoration this, better than replace culture you normally see all the time.
I can hear the excitement in your voice. Well done Max.
Your laugh at 39.00 said it all Max 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Kermit is looking great
Very impressive! I like the way you've not tried to make it look concourse, just as Land Rover should be! Can't wait for the next episode. Thanks.
To quote Mr Burns: ‘excellent’
That looks stunning Max, what a transformation. Just putting the wings on made such a difference.
There's nothing better than spraying in the rain!
You are getting there! Once it’s finished, people are going to wonder why is it called Kermit.
Kermit looking more waspy than froggy now. Looking really smart
The one thing I like most is that you're not applying gobs of filler to hide the hammering on the panels, a lot of people go to so much effort to make things look smooth and perfect that it extends a project by years, cos at the end of the day, it's a work horse, not a show horse... :P
She looks mint Max . And with that sound deadening your ears wont bleed when you go over 35 mph .
Well done Max - this is going to be some mean machine! Love the way you improvise your way through the build - the old Landie should survive for a long time once it's complete. Thanks for the video, entertaining and informative.
The front end really looks great. Those chaps at Grenadier should take note.
Cup of tea well deserved. Thank you.
Amazing build, you’ve done yourself proud!
SOOOO satisfying to watch progress. Excellent work Maestro. Thank you for sharing your labours and expertise.
I have to say that I wasn’t keen on the color at first. But now, it looks amazing. So jelly.
Going to be a real nice old Landy when your done, no longer a crusty old rotter, it'll out live you and I!
Landy looks good, legend.
Watched it on Patreon. Watching it here again to get your view numbers up 😊
You have come so far with this project. Hours of dedication and attention to detail. It looks awesome. What an inspiration to go save more landys!
Looks fantastic Max, you are making a great job of it. Less of the Kermit and more of the Colmans now.
Great idea with the bonnet insulation. It will help considerably with the harmonic vibration noise you get at certain revs. But you know this , lol :)
What a bloody good job you have done on your land-rover, that looks great.
who knew beige could be so butch love it
You must get an immense satisfaction from making those old battered panels useable again.
That's a brilliant motor! Mate, you got a bird magnet there!
Looking good, can't wait to see it galloping around the fields
I used that sound deadening material on a van when converting it into a campervan. Really made a huge difference. It stopped sounding like an old builders van and made a much nicer driving experience. I found you only really need it in the middle of a large panel. No need to go edge to edge.
There is nothing better than getting home from work, putting my feet up and watching you tinker. I bet that workshop smells amazing!
That is amazing I love it. You don't make it look easy either you make it look exactly as hard as it is and we can see the massive amount of time and effort you put in bravo sir, bravo.
Looking brilliant Max I’m looking forward to hearing the engine running 👌
Looks great - what a wonderful job Max.
Great look! Before the windscreen, it reminds me of the SAS 'Pink Panther' style.
Looking like an absolute beast Max. Great colour choice!
I was half thinking you were going to paint that bonnet black 👌 looking good
Once you have finished Kermit I would love to see it driving down one of the UK's green lanes 👍
Congratulations on the great progress - and great results!
Simply amazing. Please enable the thanks function on your channel
It looks great Max! Looking like a Landie at last!
Soundproofing! Whatever next. Looking really good
Very pleasing to watch.
She is looking really nice i’ll be looking forward to the test drive later
Custom made masterpiece, tbh. 🔥
Looking good Max 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
love the colour, it will be nice driving something you know every nut and bolt is 100%
Impressive and inspirational as always!
Looking good 👍 enjoy your well deserved tea 🍵
I wasn’t sure about the color when you first showed it but with those black accents it looks amazing!!
I find watching other people paint stuff very soothing - I know how much hard work the preparation is!
This is wonderful - getting down to the finishing details ... soon!
Brilliant. The end is in sight!
At the start, each time we saw Kermit, it looked less like a Land Rover... these days, each time we see it, it looks more and more like a Land Rover.... welcome back Kermit.
Great job Max first class workmanship well done.looks great. am looking forward to the next episode.
You’ve always impressed me Max, but today you raised the bar sir.
Brilliant project reflecting your vision and dogged perseverance.
Inspiring, entertaining and educational.
Thanks for sharing.
Excellent. Thank you, Max.
Kermit is coming along nicely, it’s been great to watch the progress.
What a little beauty!
I hope you're really proud of this project. It looks great and you're saving a nice old truck from the scrapper. 90% done, 90% to go!
Defender bonnet and Series split screen throws the eye for a second but it does look good. Cheers
It’s coming along all right!! Maybe I’ve reached the stage where I also start wanting an old Landie….
Looking great, Max.
Looking great Max, thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! One little problem... it's no longer Kermit now, looks more like Colonel Mustard 😄
Looking pretty good Max. Kinda reminds me of the old international scout of the 70’s. Or maybe a jeep.
Slowly but surely getting there Max. Looking forward to see it mobile again.
The high speed tap tap technique on it`s own is worth the visit.
Can`t wait to see the biggest smiles ever when you and Mark go on the maiden voyage.
Hopefully grandad can make another appearance soon.
Great progress, inspected by your Hens too. Thanks for posting.
That was a great watch. Please don't tell me that was all done in one day! The panel beating reminded me of an episode of Father Ted.😂😂
well done your getting there
Great Progress - looking good - keep up the good work -- the smile on your face gets bigger as the landy becomes more complete ! ! ! She will be a unique and fun vehicle when complete ! !
GOOD VID THANKS LEE
Well done mate, lookin great.
Why people love old Landys.
A nice wee boost to keep the spirits up 🥃👍
Cup of tea well earned.... brilliant job Max
Max you have very creative hands awesome job
Fabulous, Max...well done, you!
got reminded of that father Ted episode with the car raffle.
🎉cracking the bonnet is perfect. great idea with the sound proofing. it will also help with corrosion with the two different metals. Camel trophy has nothing on this vehicle.🥳
Excellent. Stay safe out there.
Its stunning. Nearly finished 😉
Fabulous, I wish I had 1% of your talent.
You must be so excited to drive it given it's so close
Max , I am looking for your vid that covers the overhaul of a S3 steering box and relay. Great vids mate. Glad your smiling again.
Wow not only working out what goes where, it has taken some editing to show the rebuild in correct order. It must have taken months of prep work then too edit the filming in order . Hearty congratulations !!!!
I must say I wasn’t keen on the choice of colour but watching it all come together it’s an absolute winner! Well done Max incredible work looking forward to seeing the end result.
It's looking great Max. Keep up the good work!
kermits starting to look a bit healthier nice job
Well done Sir, it will turn a few heads when rolling down the road.
Love your videos you don’t pad it with B.S. really enjoy them
Early on I was surprised by the colour choice and liking it even less as it progressed, but now it is looking great. Good call. The disco rims suit it as well. I think they are the few non series rims that look good on both series and defenders.
The build is really coming along, but still a crazy amount of fiddling and fettling to do. Just like building a house, the last little bits can take forever.
She looks really good, jolly good show..
Looking great lot hard work has paid off.
Looks absolutely fantastic. Keep it coming. About a quarter way through reviving a petrol 88. Every video is more motivation. Great job.
