- During the process of my career while serving in Special Operations, I had to quickly adapt my primary weapon (M4 Carbine) to the proficiency of my tactics and movement. Understand how I breakdown the body mechanics to aggressively move my weapon. In this video, I will go over some of the ways I have trained my hand and eyes to process and preform movements at a faster rate. I will talk over holds and ballistics and how this information is needed while engaging threats at various distances. Understand how the Special Forces has trained me and how I had to adapt the tactics to my physical performance and current mission sets. “Gunfights are different in each terrain and area of operation; understand how I had to adapt to my situation.”

That shows where his interests lie when it comes to getting this information out there for people who are wanting to learn anything from police enforcement tactics to civilian home defense. That's cool no matter how you slice it and I think Left4Green was just showing his respect!
If anything, I think Mr Tu "Ronin" Lam is doing an excellent job of showing people that you can still apply ancient martial wisdom with new ideas, efficiency of motion and the mastery of the body and mind and put it into practice. He's also doing a damn good job at marketing Ronin Tactics, I only found his channel because he's a goddamned operator in call of duty.
I'm glad I did though, because this is quality content that again, I would absolutely expect to pay for elsewhere.
I live in Jersey, and he does classes out here as i was looking online, and they run as low as $1,150 just for the class. And yes, I have become a fan of him because of COD and fully support Tu 210%

I’m in the Army and i have watched alot of videos off of this channel and seriously it has changed the way i shoot and move. Man i have learned so much watching these videos I never thought a TH-cam video like this would honestly teach me anything but i was wrong within the last year my movement as in stance and high and low compress has changed my ability in shooting. I wish the US Military would have taught me this stuff but they don’t. Personally wish the military would reconstruct how they teach soldiers to shoot stance movement etc I’m only speaking on the military as a whole. But yeah these videos helped me out alot.
You'd think the US army would have the best of the best to train their troop to also be best of the best but nah, it does make more sense to just get the "fodders" adequately trained and those who are able to make it through to the end being the elite of the elites who have the capacity to pass down the lessons they've learned first hand to those who are interested and have the time to learn it.

As a civi this is all I can get…most tactical classes in my area are overpriced and taught by folks with the old school mindset/old tactics. It's because he's teaching you not just how to kill, but how to survive the day and fight again. I think that's the difference he really wants to define because he's seen people die. Just my two cents
That doesn't just apply to firing a weapon in a gunfight. It could be the difference between getting stabbed in an alley or not. The same lessons can be applied. That's what's dope about ronin tactics. He's teaching you how to protect yourself, not just "herpa durr this is how the gun go brrrr"

I come from Croatia, a country where it's not perceived normal to do stuff like this. We don't shoot or go to ranges or any of that. I had an opportunity to shoot a double barreled shotgun once and a very rare opportunity to squeeze off two rounds from a Zastava M70ab (folding stock AK47 variant). The closest I got to manipulating an AR was through airsoft. Whatever you people think about airsoft, I don't care. It got me to a point of understanding the weight, sight picture and mechanics of the platform. It also got me interested in watching stuff like this. Anyway...
I've seen a lot of these mumbo jumbo dudes all over TH-cam that do these courses without ever setting foot in a war zone, calling guns "weapon systems" and crap like that.
Then you got Tu, a true warrior calling a gun what it is - a gun. He's here pouring out wisdom and experience coming from a long lasting military career. I have not heard a single word come out of this guy that doesn't make sense. Also, his presentation skills are on point. When he talks, people listen.
I hope these guys from the video understand how fortunate they are to be able to learn from Tu.

Same here in Turkey brother. We got AR style .410 bore shotguns that government allows us to use, and we can buy pistols.. I said AR style particularly because that is what makes you the closest to the 5.56 OG M4. Thing with the airsoft, I've been airsofting and practical shooting for over 8 years now.. and AIRSOFT HELPS. Not with the marksmanship phase, because you shoot out bb's but for the learning handling a firearm relatively safely, airsoft is top notch.

Kiril Bellic don’t think it mattered with this group of guys. Half of em couldn’t group 3 shots and almost the whole class showed up with rifles without a zero. That whole team just needs to take it back to the drawing board. They’re probably good guys more than likely. Just fell victim to complacency I guess, but who knows truly.

Every cop will fight with someone hand to hand eventually.
Very few will get in running gun battle shooting under cars, doing speed reloads through 4 mags and so on.
But, anyone who is issued a rifle or has one at all should zero the damn thing of course, at a minimum.
@@kirilbellic3602the fact that the showed up with there weapons not zeroed means they have no idea where those bullets are going. so in the rare chance they have to use that weapon, the only people in danger are the innocent bystanders. so zeroing is at least as important as physical fitness. it's called professionalism.

I went to a class up there around 5yrs ago at Valor Ridge with Reid Hendricks ..it was an austere conditions course & I had a great time.. the company I was working for at the time price matched & sent 2 of us up from FL .. this was before Hendricks went off on his little rant & I loved the course/content .. I used my Spike's tactical Crusader 10.5" pistol & my Aero 16" carbine .. both of which I assembled .. Tennessee is absolutely gorgeous & I realized how much I missed hills & mountains .. living in FL we're pretty flat aside from sand dunes

As a martial arts practitioner and former combat veteran over the years I learned and observed much of this long ago, body mechanics and economy of motion are important in combat. You don't know how long a firefight is going to last you have to be able to carry that weapon and use it efficiently. Great video!!!

Taken many handgun, shotgun and carbine courses over the years, and this is the most legit info I've ever come across.
I agree totally with everything he is saying especially the natural stance and punching towards his target. Never been crazy about the walker stance and way it doesn't feel as natural as this gentleman has clarified

crazy how much good info is out here for free.. shooting has changed so much. I remember on combat shoot ranges we were told to sit in the stand hold like that overly immobile position. Now its about like he said being able to move when needed with economy of motion

Edit: I thought I'd learnt it all until it clicked that he's so trained he thinks about 180° gun drive with every step. He's got it down to a subconscious thing even in live fire. Think about that.
That's the difference between a professional and all 101% of us watching.. He's already filled us with lead.

Millions of gun owners in the US, and Ronin only has 97k subs? We need to get more people watching this guy! I love his way of teaching because everything has an important purpose and it's not just some disco dance to look tacticool. Does he have a DVD set I could buy? Would love to buy some and gift it to friends for x-mas.
A little tip I learned my police and military people, they have bore bullet lasers and muzzle lasers that can help you zero your rifle in multiple calibers. I use lasers to get a accurate zero on my deer rifle. Hopefully this is helpful

I know it's difficult to train and break bad habits,,my grandfather and dad always made sure they were making a point and that I actually comprehended what was being taught, I've used this knowledge for every aspect of my life, look at your career and instead of it being a paycheck use it to better yourself, look at everything you do for instance I'm a welder fabricator, I don't think of it as " i build shit and I don't know what it's going to" . I build it knowing exactly what it is where it is going and why it is needed . This all ties in and I call it an art form ,form of art . And when I use my tools just say a slag hammer or chipping hammer it has a point end and a small wedge end ,I use this hammer consistently throughout the day and I study all the movements of my muscles and joints, like I can get huge amounts of force by simply using my wrist and lightly holding the handle oppoessed to holding tightly and using my whole body to really smash down on something,, I could go on ,the point is that everything you do should be an art form extrapolated and now it's a Martial Art. When I am teaching fundementals of shooting I go to the target with a red dot sight and or iron sights put the muzzle on the paper target and Mark the spot that the dot is pointing to if we are 25 yards or less and they have a better understanding of what I'm saying and it's much easier to get them dialed in,my top shooters are women it seems lol ,,

Really great video man! You obviously know what you're doing and I can tell you served. My only complaint is about how you asked if they did crossfit. Obviously you're a huge dude and some of those dudes are pretty skinny, but that doesn't mean much. After taking several BJJ classes I've realized it doesn't matter how big you are, its a lot about technique. Which you definitely have with firearms and tactics. But when it comes to hand to hand combat, its not about who's bigger and stronger. I've got my ass whooped by a guy that was 5'7" about 140lbs and almost broke my arm. I'm 6'7" about 270 about 6% body fat at the moment. This dude destroyed me and I was very humbled. Its all about technique, not size.
