I only wear shoes with a wide toe box and zero drop whenever I can. It was a relief to realize that shoes don't need to be broken in if they fit the foot.
Thanks Griffin. They’ve performed well on mixed terrain. It’s a different proposition but for really slippery surfaces or loose terrain I’d recommend a sole with a deeper lug, something like these ⤵️ Vivobarefoot Tracker Forest ESC Review: First Impressions [barefoot hiking] th-cam.com/video/Th-L4ENPcJs/w-d-xo.html

Thank you so mcuh! I love them so much🤩🤩. They are so comfortable to wear. I think they are not warm enough for me now. I’m excited to look for a pair of winter shoes. 😋
I wear my Primus Trails A LOT. Winter boots is a great addition. That’s super exciting about picking something that will support your winter adventures 🥶 ❄️
Any recommendation for trail III SG vs FG? I want to go trail running and do some reasonably tough hikes in them (mixture of wet/dry terrain - lots of stone). Trail running I am reasonably new to so I am not sure the benefits of SG/FG in this regard.
Hey Amar! When it comes to trail running and tough hikes on mixed terrain like wet/dry and lots of stone, choosing between SG (Soft Ground) and FG (Firm Ground) depends on your personal preferences and the specific conditions you'll encounter. SG shoes typically have deeper, more aggressive lugs that provide excellent grip in soft or muddy terrain. They're great for tackling slippery surfaces and providing stability on uneven ground. However, on firm or rocky trails, they might feel too aggressive and less comfortable. FG shoes, on the other hand, have shallower lugs that offer better traction on hard-packed trails and rocky surfaces. They provide a more stable and responsive feel, which can be beneficial for faster-paced running and technical hikes. However, they might not perform as well in extremely muddy or slippery conditions. Considering you're new to trail running, I'd recommend starting with FG shoes as they offer versatility across different terrains and provide a good balance of traction and stability. As you gain more experience and encounter specific trail conditions where SG shoes might be more beneficial, you can always invest in a pair for those occasions.I understand the cost implications, but you can grab a discount using the code and link in the description. Ultimately, if possible, try on both types of shoes and see which feels more comfortable and supportive for your feet. There is also a 100 day returns policy which will give you some security. Happy trails and enjoy your adventures out there. 🦶🌳
Would love to hear your thoughts on the All Weather upper - I’m looking for a year round trail/rain shoe, for summer heat and winter cold and debating between the all weather and the knit.
Ooooh. Good question. Knit is far more preferable in warmer conditions due to the improved air flow. The All Weather gives me more flexibility and I can use them for pretty much anything. Currently I’m using them for lots of purposes, exploring, some road walking and as a low cut trail shoe. The grip between Knit and AW will be the same. Unless you went for the Soft Ground, but that is a much more specialist trainer for sure. All the best with your decision making 🙏🏼 let me know what you choose 🤩
Hey dude, thanks for the review :) Thinking about getting my first pair of vivo's for this summer. I have worn Xero, Lem's and Vibrams in the past. I have heard some people mention that vivo's durability/longevity isn't the greatest.I noticed you have a few pairs there, would love to know what the experience has been for you! I like the channel and the editing btw dude! Your channel definitely deserves some love :)
Ryan you legend, thanks for taking the time to check out my videos and comment 👊 Vivos have provided the best solution for my needs. I own Vibrams, but find myself always picking up the vivos - especially the Primus Lites for gym work or a walk to break up my day. I have also explored other barefoot offerings from other companies but am yet to try Xero's or Lems. What's your experience with those? You make a good point about longevity. A lot would depend on the style and use case, but it would be great to see a way to re-sole the Boots specifically once they have reached their natural life expectancy as I think the bonded sole may be the part that wears out first. Having said that I throughly enjoy the Trackers, doing everything from walks in the Peak District to coffee shops- so much so that I've ordered some Tracker ESC's and hope they provide even more durability. Plus more aggressive sole for the miserable weather here in the UK. If I can help further, please ask my friend. All the best and keep doing great work through your journey 🙌
@@OwenJackson Thanks Owen! Xero’s is a little to narrow and almost all their models to squish my pinky toe. Only the Xero Denver has worked well for me (I think because the fabric has a lot of give in the pinky toe area). Lem’s is OK, I am actually considering their Primal 2 for a summer running shoe. But most of their other shoes have a chunky 1cm sole, so the ground feel is a less than other brands. Thanks for the feedback. I think I am going to finally pull trigger and get some Primus Lite III’s for the summer. Here in Canada these things are damn expensive, but I’m also looking at revivo as an option! Enjoy the nice pricing there in the UK Owen! Take care and good luck with the channel! :) - Ryan

@@OwenJackson thank you so much for the quick reply Owen! I have the lites in 44 and trackers in 45.
