    Yes, I realize the town is pronounced, BAYT-ee 👍🏻 I've said it correctly in previous videos, but always forget which way to say it. I'll get it right one day 😀
    What's the craziest storm you've driven through? This was nerve-racking less because of the storm itself and more because of the surrounding terrain and lack of signal and services along the route.

    So happy you are posting again. Awesome video. I feel your pain. I also do not care for lightning/heavy rain while driving at night.

      Yes! Thank you! I specifically hate it when in the desert. So many more things to worry about with flash flooding, rock/mud slides and combine that with unknown terrain at night... scary!

    Amazing vista @4:38. Thx for the video. I enjoyed watching & good to have content from you again. Stay safe.

    Pam here…..yes putting in a ‘buffer charge’ is always good practice. Lightening in flat open spaces is wild. One time a bolt hit directly in front of our car…was so close we could see multiple colors in it where it struck the road! EEEEKKK. Drive safe dude!!

    Look at the bright side. You got your bugs washed off for nothing.
    All kidding aside. Keep safe, enjoy your videos.🙂

    We've had some crazy rain driving through death valley as well but no hail ! Crazy but glad you made it through! Thats cool you can see the cameras around the Tesla when your in camp mode, thats convenient for situational awareness especially when steal camping!

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep it’s great for stealth camping so when I hear something can see what’s outside. Also works from the app so can get alerted when someone is close to the car and can watch them or even talk to them. As for the hail… in two videos I get caught in a much worse one near Denver.

    im sorry you had to go through something scary like a flash storm, but it was so cozy for us to watch and to see that the Tesla could do it!

      Luckily wasn't too bad of a storm, but my biggest concern was the desert terrain and how the storm could cause flash flooding or rock/mudslides.

    Nice video, hail storms are horrible around here. One thing though...it is Bay-tee, NV not Bee-tee, NV. Got me too the first time I said it. Glad you made it to the superchargers safely.

    Ah that sucks. :( Same thing happened to me. Planned an epic roadtrip up Pacific Coast Highway.... kept wondering why nav kept redirecting me to I-5.... but there was a big mudslide that made it impossible. Womp womp...

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, that’s frustrating. I saw on the map that it kept redirecting me around, but it didn’t say why. Wish there would have been an obvious alert. I also should have checked my phone.

    I enjoyed this one.. I’d be nervous of driving in pitch black for the animals crossing the road.

    Good to see you posting again! Sorry to hear about the family. Wow, Tesla’s calculation has never been that far off for any of our trips (28%~8%).
    Was this with 2023.44.30.8 06f534d46010 version? I wanted to get your opinion on Autopilot getting more strict? I’ve noticed a significant difference in the autopilot awareness.
    Really happy to see you posting more vids! Take care and safe travels!

      Thanks so much! I can't remember what build it was on as this was many months ago, but I've seen this often over the years and usually happens with multiple elevation changes. Estimates can be quite off even though they now are supposed to take that as well as weather into consideration. It has gotten better, but I've still seen it fluctuate when driving through mountainous areas.
      As for Autopilot... I haven't noticed too many changes outside of it being a bit more strict as far as nags and it giving a warning that if you get a set amount of violations it will kick you off for 2 weeks. I've never had more than one over many months so don't see it as too much of an issue. I am back on FSD Beta as I get it free through referrals, but still see quite a few issues with that and still wouldn't recommend it if one has to pay. I'll be releasing a video on that hopefully soon with all my thoughts.
      Appreciate the comment and for watching 😀

    From a fellow Minnesotan, next time, be smart and spend a night at the Creekside Inn in Bishop. Best hotel on the east side, and breakfast is phenomenal.

    Awesome video of your Tesla adventure. To bad there's no way to harness the energy from the lightning to power your Tesla. My current EV is a 2020 Chevrolet Bolt. Happy travels to you.

    Hey Brian, alway wanted to ask, does your back not get too sweaty or hot on long trips with these seats?

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No issues for me, but the just refreshed Model 3 and upcoming Model Y have ventilated seats so that should help with anyone who does get that.

    Sorry for multiple comments, but I always wanted to visit the Beatty, NV SC (I think it's pronounced "bay-tee" Like Warren Beatty). Beatty, NV SC just looked like the most remove SC is a small nothing town... Seemed like an awesome place to visit.

      I’ve been there in a few videos previously and the town is full of wild donkeys. It’s crazy! They’ll just stick their head in your window. 🤣

      Missed your videos. Carrying a spare tire through these remote places?

    • @bryanhauer

      @@MechayaAlta I don't, but do have the official Tesla tire repair kit/compressor/sealant. Oh and AAA Premier which tows up to 200 miles 👍🏻

      Good to see this video up. We hope to head back out west from NC. We travel in the MY also, but we are elderly and there are two of us. Not as convenient with two.

      AAA premier is a very good idea. We had a puncture when visiting Henderson, Nevada but had a repair kit, tire pump and AAA.

    Very interesting. I love your different videos. Great ! :-) But, about Tesla, if you charge 2x per day and it cots 15 dollars each, it's very espensive ? no ? What do you think about ? Francesco

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No. Most people charge at home 2 or 3 times per week for a fraction of that. I can charge at home from 0-100% for around $7 USD. I usually just top off from around 40% to 80% a couple times per week. I get around 300 miles per charge. It's about 2-3 times less expensive than a gas car. Superchargers are a little bit more, but still half the cost of gas.
