Used to live in Crookes. Walked down to the university for lectures and Broomhill for food.

Ranmoor was quite nice. Enjoyed the walk to lectures in the morning!

I'm just watching this video to reminisce about my time at Sheffield, which will be 11 years since I started next month! Buses were 50p then and quad vods from Corp were £2! I was in the second intake for Endcliffe so it was all nice and new when I lived there but can only imagine what it's been through in that time.
Omg our SU president had to lobby to get bus fares back down to £1 last year!

What about fee installment in sheffield university? Do they relax the students by providing them the facility of paying fee in instalments??

Do you have any recommended area of accomodation for postgrad student preferrably studio and near the faculty where im going to study??? Thaanks
I've applied to Sheffield uni for biomedical science, looks great can't wait. Only problem I have is they don't appear to wanna reply, friends applying to the same course got their replies 2-4 weeks ago.

I’m going Sheffield in September to study Journalism too but idk what accommodation to have because I thought Allen court is closer to the Mappin building but Endliffe sounds better. What should I do?
Do Endcliffe - it’s a half hour walk so nothing too bad and also a lot of first year is all across campus, not much is specifically on Mappin Street!
what are the career prospects like at sheffield, how prestigious is it?
How do I decide what place in Endcliffe to apply for? There’s the huge list of places like Yarncliffe, Crescent Flats etc. and I don’t understand the difference or if some are better than others x
They’re all pretty much the same really! I’d go for derwent, yarncliffe, froggart or Howden probably... I was in derwent!
I'm an International Student(1st year) and I'm looking to stay at The Moor-Student also a student accommodation...Would you recommend I stay there rather than Endcliffe or Ranmoor??
If yes, please what are the pros and cons
I’ve never heard of accommodation at the moor... The Moor is much closer to the Hallam university side of the city so I don’t think there would be many of University of Sheffield students there... I’d definitely advise you to go to Endcliffe or ranmoor accommodation so you can meet more people!
is there any difference between ranmoor and endcliffe aside from the fact endcliffe is bigger and closer? xx

hi! im thinking of going to sheffield and i was just wondering if u live in student accommodation throughout the whole course, or if that's only really for first years. thanks :)
Hey! It tends to be more for first years. In second/third year most people move into houses with friends :)

@@kiremio I think it is possible, but you would still be sharing with around 9 other people, so most prefer to downsize to a house with a smaller group!

Unfortunately I’d say it isn’t. There is a semi-large international student intake but even so, it is a very white university... Definitely an issue I don’t think the uni is focusing on enough.
If you are going to Sheffield join a WhatsApp GC for a culture society, you'll find most of the minority pockets in these group chats making it easier from my experience

@@komalmononoke is it very frequently because I may be going there and I don't want it to be 99% of the students going to a party
@@triprprts depends on who you hang around with I suppose. If you stay in uni accommodation with Freshers then there will likely be parties very frequently. If you stay in a house share with mature students then less parties. You can just say no if parties aren't for you. There's plenty of other things to do here.
