A couple of months ago I wrote that every day I try and every day I fail, to make socks!! Well, I'm on Pair six!!!! Yippee!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I just love you! The “I’m going to train Piper - but actually train the family” story is precious. Thanks for all your sharing and generosity. Peace, my friend.
I was a dog trainer for 10 years and I used to always joke that I was a “people trainer” 😆 it really does make a huge difference when the whole family is on board!
You can change your lobster clasps to lever back. Go to Hobby Lobby and get some lever back earring clasps. You will need two pair of jewelry pliers or you can use small needle nose pliers. And just change them out. I do that quite often.
Thank you so much for the tutorials! I learned how to make socks this year, following your patterns and now I’m obsessed. And I love that you include links to Etsy/websites to find amazing yarns and cute project bags on your podcasts. I’ve even started to go back and watch your old videos. I live in Surprise, AZ and it was fun to find you talking about AZ. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
So sweet that you’re making your friend a pair of prayer socks. I quite often spend 30 min a day on different projects-amazing how much you can get done. And the older clasps are lobster and I’m like you, prefer lever back ones.
Thank you for another great episode. I'm really enjoying knitting your Whispers in the Wind socks in some old stash yarn... such a lovely pattern where you can just do 'one more repeat'!
We got two pandemic puppies, which was rough because they didn't get as much socialization as we would have liked. But with some extra work, they're managing to keep all paws on the floor ... most of the time.
This will be my first Summer Sock Camp and I am so excited. I got down fabric to make myself a 90s bag, 90 colored sock yarn, and a Summer Sock Camp mug. 😂🥰
I love the notion of prayer socks! Can’t think why we’ve never thought of this before! Glad Piper is settling in well and good luck with the training x
Kay, I, too, am a Leverback rather than a Lobster clasp gal! I find the lobster clasps too small and fiddley to attach easily. I also like that you can use Leverbacks as a BOR marker, too! I love your new completed socks! Eat the donut!! And that name for the yarn😂 Congratulations Krafty Mumma, enjoy the Alpaca yarn!!
Totally understand your “day in the life”/vlog decision, we appreciate your content so much however you offer it! 90s fabric looks so fun, my 5-15yr old self likes the vibe.
90’s kid here! Loving the theme. Last year I participated and made socks for my sister. Going to make a pair of socks for myself this summer sock camp.
This will be my 3rd year of SSC. I love seeing everyone’s socks. I have also ordered my first Advent calendar because I have loved seeing yours over the last few years.
I love following your projects and hearing about your dog adventures. Fantastic that you’re working with Piper now she will be so much better for it! Thank you for all you do. I love the bag too! ❤
Thank you for sharing your method for working on so many projects each day and that getting to all the projects doesn't happen every day, especially weekends. So happy to find a company that has faith based work! Have gotten lovely, wonderful Advents in the past and always felt that the reason for the season wasn't a part of my making. Including a verse a day puts my heart in the right place for that day! Looking forward to Summer Sock Camp! Enjoy your family filled weekend!
I have a self-striping sock yarn in my stash and I think I’m gonna do the Heel Toe Do Si Do pattern for it. It’s just so cute! And that 90s project bag is rad! 😉
Hi Kay ❤ It's called a lobster claw. Love your collection of bags❤ That is a great concept "a prayer sock" project, awesome. Love ❤️ the 90's bag❤ You have a wonderful week ahead 😊
I can NOT wait for SSC! I've been working on so many blankets lately and I know that once the warm weather starts up, I'm not going to want to be working on them and will be all about the socks again.
I am knitting my first ever colorwork sock while I am reading my way through KM Shea’s Magiford books. The books are all trilogies. And there are 5 completed trilogies. They’re so good :)
I got a mystery scoop of stitch markers from Rhubarb and Honey on Etsy and it contained two matching leverback markers with tiny adventurine chips and they make the perfect earrings so now I always have extra stitch markers on hand! LOL Also I love that your go-to comfort for someone dear to you is to knit for them-highly underrated!
Puppy training!!❤ I have two horses and love learning how to train them! There really is a cool connection and actual communication when you find the method that speaks to you and your animals.
Prayer socks are a wonderful idea. All your socks are beautiful. Great to hear about Piper. Good to get family all doing the same thing. Great about spending 30 min a day on one item. As always, a great podcast. Thank you.
I'm so excited for summer sock camp! And yes for training dogs but everyone needing to be on the same page. I also have a Piper and live by myself. While she doesn't jump on me, she'll try everyone who comes over to see who'll let her.
You have totally enabled me to get a yarn advent calendar this year. I've never done it but all of the yarn you've shown is so beautiful that I'm sure this one will be too. 😁
Comparison is definitely a thief of joy. For those struggling with their own idealised goals, perhaps it could be more helpful to analyse ones own working days and see what could be fit into 'dead space' (commutes) or freed up (do I really need to do my adult households dishes all the time?). This really helped me to find more time to knit, especially as I'm the sort who does one task and another magically pops up and before I know it i've spend my weekend doing chores! P.S. As an 80's/90's baby I'm liking the SSC theme and logo :)
I am so excited. I’ve tried so many times to knit magic loop and today it FINALLY clicked with me. It is so much easier on my hands than the 9 inch circular. I love that project bag. I hope you will post some piper pics 😊
Thanks Kay for all the wonderful tips you give every episode. I'm really enjoying making rainbow ripple blankets at the moment and surprisingly there are 4 lovely families that have just had babies. So 4 blankets were made. Also love the heel toe do is do pattern - I"m working on some socks for me using this pattern.
Hi Kay! Sitting with you here on a Friday night enjoying and watching your podcast , while I crochet the Baby rainbow ripple blanket.. You inspired me seeing you make yours! I love this pattern, excited about summer sock camp again !❤😂
You inspired me with your 30 minute increments. I also do cross stitch as well as needlepoint and knitting and crocheting. It’s hard to decide what to work on! So I started doing 30 minutes a day (when I can anyway) on some needlepoint Christmas ornaments and 30 minutes on cross stitch. And I do those in the daytime. At night is my knitting and crocheting projects
Your weekly videos have become part of my routine and a great way to end my week! With a new puppy at our home, too, I can relate to your stories😊Olive is often in my chair with me when I watch your weekly video!
I am so excited for summer sock camp! I spent part of the day today pulling out all the yarn I want to use during summer sock camp! So excited and ready! I have a goal of 8 socks this year so we shall see!
Hello Lady! It’s always a pleasure to watch your episodes as I feel like we’re chatting it up in an in person meeting and such. Happy crafting ❤and thanks for the inspiration.
I agree that lever-back progress keepers are easier to position/move than lobster-clasp ones! I try to select those if they're an option now (I use them instead of jump-rings a lot, too!)
I love that you are doing prayer socks!! I recently did prayer socks for a childhood friend! It was a similar situation where I just knew I needed to make them a priority and get them sent off. Looking back I understand now. God is so amazing!❤
Thank you for sharing about all the things your making. Talking about summer sock camp got me motivated to pick up my needles again and cast on a new project 😊
I have taken the 30 minutes a day idea to help me finish socks and stuff. I have finished 9 pairs so far. Even using stash yarns . I finally broke down and bought one skein. 😂.
Thank you for another great podcast. I am so excited to see all of the 80s and 90s socks everyone will be making or bags they will be using this year for SSC. Hope you have a fun weekend with your family!
Thanks for the reminder to check out advent calendars. I've never got one and I'm hoping to get the Freckled Whimsy self-striping sock advent. Look forward to your podcast every week. Keep up the great work!
Those bags are so much fun! And I agree about sneaking in crafting whenever you can. I try to do the same as well and that helps each project get a little bit of progress each day!
I’m trying to use your ‘four rows a day’ with a shawl I am making. Sometimes I’m lucky and get six, but it uses mohair. What a slippy yarn!!! I’m looking forward to SSC.
Prayer Socks! What a great idea!!! ❤❤
🤣 I didn’t even think of I that way and now I can’t stop laughing 🤣🤣
I was a dog trainer for 10 years and I used to always joke that I was a “people trainer” 😆 it really does make a huge difference when the whole family is on board!
Obviously because I'm a 90s kid and a sock knitter, I'm completely in love with the project bag. Already looking forward to summer sock camp!
i'm an 80s baby and i'm so nostalgic for the 80s and 90s right now, so the theme of this years Summer Sock Camp makes me very happy!
You can change your lobster clasps to lever back. Go to Hobby Lobby and get some lever back earring clasps. You will need two pair of jewelry pliers or you can use small needle nose pliers. And just change them out. I do that quite often.
I think this is the year I participate in summer sock camp 🏕️ love seeing all the beautiful socks!
Super excited for summer sock camp. I want to try some new patterns and some new techniques. And who doesn’t love the 80s!!!
Thanks.
It's so fun flashing back to the 80s and 90s! I'm looking forward to summer sock camp and making some flashy socks 😊
So sweet that you’re making your friend a pair of prayer socks. I quite often spend 30 min a day on different projects-amazing how much you can get done. And the older clasps are lobster and I’m like you, prefer lever back ones.
Working on prayer socks for a grandchild right now; what a joy to be able to bless others with wee smiles! 😊
Thank you for another great episode. I'm really enjoying knitting your Whispers in the Wind socks in some old stash yarn... such a lovely pattern where you can just do 'one more repeat'!
Such fun to follow along with your crafting adventures. Looking forward to summer sock camp. Drinking my coffee this morning in a mug from 2022.
I'm an 80's kid and 90's teen, so I love all things from those eras.
We got two pandemic puppies, which was rough because they didn't get as much socialization as we would have liked. But with some extra work, they're managing to keep all paws on the floor ... most of the time.
I love the 4 rows per day strategy to keep going on projects. I’m using that technique for a pair of winter long socks.
This will be my first Summer Sock Camp and I am so excited. I got down fabric to make myself a 90s bag, 90 colored sock yarn, and a Summer Sock Camp mug. 😂🥰
So fun to see all you are making. Love the socks in the various patterns. There is so much to knit and so little time. Thank you for always sharing.
I love this years SSC theme! I grew up in 80’s and 90’s…may have been the best decades to be a kid😁
Prayer socks!!! As an avid prayer shawl maker…I absolutely love the idea of prayer socks! 🥰
I am already on the hunt for the perfect yarn/pattern combinations for summer sock camp. ❤
I look forward to the summer sock camp. Love the 90s. Thank you for your videos.
I love the notion of prayer socks! Can’t think why we’ve never thought of this before! Glad Piper is settling in well and good luck with the training x
Love the summer sock camp idea. It’s new to me. And I’m totally inspired to start a sock stash for pick me up gifts. Thanks for the idea!

Don't apologize for rambling, I love it!
I can't wait for summer sock camp! It's become my favorite summer tradition!
Thank you for the updates! That project bag is the perfect size for summer sock camp socks 😍😍😍
Anxiously awaiting Summer Sock Camp! The Leap of Faith yarn was beautiful!
How fun is the 90s bag! Giving me memories of high school. Looking forward to making socks along with everyone.
90’s kid here! Loving the theme. Last year I participated and made socks for my sister. Going to make a pair of socks for myself this summer sock camp.
I'm excited for summer sock camp. There's never enough sock projects!!
This will be my 3rd year of SSC. I love seeing everyone’s socks. I have also ordered my first Advent calendar because I have loved seeing yours over the last few years.

It's called a lobster claw. Love your collection of bags❤
That is a great concept "a prayer sock" project, awesome. Love ❤️ the 90's bag❤

Love that you’re enjoying this stage with Piper! I only get a few minutes of knitting a few times a day - but it really adds up! ❤
I love the idea of prayer socks, they would be like a hug.
I'm so excited about summer sock camp!!! And I love that sewing basket. What a fun find!
I am always impressed with how much making you get done. Thanks for sharing how you do it!
I can NOT wait for SSC! I've been working on so many blankets lately and I know that once the warm weather starts up, I'm not going to want to be working on them and will be all about the socks again.
Now you’re making me want to start a cross-stitch project! Thanks for all the great inspiration!
That is such cute fabric bag. I love seeing all the yarns. Such beautiful colors.
I am knitting my first ever colorwork sock while I am reading my way through KM Shea’s Magiford books. The books are all trilogies. And there are 5 completed trilogies. They’re so good :)

Your 30 minute tip is a great practice, I’ve used more and more, sharing the love between projects.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful projects. You are a blessing to so many people.
Prayer socks are a wonderful idea. All your socks are beautiful. Great to hear about Piper. Good to get family all doing the same thing. Great about spending 30 min a day on one item. As always, a great podcast. Thank you.

I am so in sock-mood this year... not as much pairs as you, but always a pair on my needles! I will certainly enjoy summer sock camp!
I love summer sock camp. Socks are my go-to favorite knit. What a fun theme.
Thanks for sharing all your current projects! I love your finished socks so much! And I loved hearing about your pups! I think it’s fun! ☺️👏
Love that you’re making socks for a loved one!! I also really love making things for others “just because”. :)
I was just looking at my summer sock yarn last night, planning... I think anticipating and planning each project is just as much fun as knitting it.
Comparison is definitely a thief of joy. By seeing your cross stitch projects I got really interested in cross stitch again. Thanks
The 90’s project bags are really cute. I am looking forward to summer sock camp again.
I am so excited. I’ve tried so many times to knit magic loop and today it FINALLY clicked with me. It is so much easier on my hands than the 9 inch circular. I love that project bag. I hope you will post some piper pics 😊
I love the term “prayer socks”! Might have to incorporate that in my knitting!
Love your making, with the plastic canvas. Socks are great! Enjoy your family visit. 😊
Your a treasure to watch, I love the excitement you show when talking about your dogs ( your extended family)😊. Keep doing what you do.
The 90s bag is so good, so many memories from that fabric!

I love watching your sock progress week after week, it keeps me motivated to finish my sock wips so I can cast on new ones 😂
The project bags are completely adorable and will be perfect for Summer Sock Camp!
Love those bags, first thing I thought was oh that's what I've been looking for to hold my highlighter colored yarn for summer sock camp LOL
Loving the 80’s/90’s theme for summer sock camp! 🎉
SSC is going to be so fun, and I love how laid back it is because it makes it so accessible ❤
Oh my word… I love the ‘90s so much, I would love a themed project bag for SSC 😊
Love the bag. The 90s were the most memorable for me because that is when my boys were born.
