I'm as obsessed with Advent as you. I have thenCozy Knitter 24 stripe Advent, Blush Yarns minis are going into my Granny square blanket (following your joining method), and for the first time, a friend who sews project bags and knits is also huge in the cross stitch community, so much that she has staff! Another friend who she works with hand dyes the Aida Cloth and linen, as well as the embroidery floss. Anyway, they, along with a big cross stitch pattern designer, have put together a cross stitch Advent where I can stitch a part of the pattern each day. I am so excited! It was a splurge, but I can't wait to start! I love your story about the concert and the closer connection you and your sister have.

Great concert story. Lol. That happened to my husband once. Saw Carl Yastrzemski at spring training about 15 years ago. His idol. Walked by him, stuck out his hand to shake and no words came out of his mouth. Lol.

I totally relate, I was the same when I met my favorite artist TobyMac in 2003....I never said a word....just smiled crazy big, and got a grainy pic on a disposable film camera and an autograph. 🤣 He hasn't been back to New Zealand since, so no more concerts or opportunities to meet, still my favorite artist.

I can identify with you so much, Kay on that "fangirl" thing. I MET ELVIS PRESLEY after my first Elvis concert back in Buffalo on April 5, 1972. It was totally unexpected and it's a long story, but my girlfriend and I were taken up to his suite at the Statler Hilton by his personal security officer (who was trying to impress me and I didn't believe him) so I have a great fan story for sure! I also continued my friendship with Dick Grob for all of 48 years until he passed on April 22 nd of 2020. I went on tour with them the year after having met Elvis also, and continued to meet up at different concerts near where I live and down in Memphis....no one can ever understand what that means to a fan to be suddenly in that situation, so I DO identify with you and your meeting. Great video. Good to see you looking so well, and I love your new hairstyle! Oh, and I have THREE Elvis tattoos! lol

I am so in love with the Candy Cane Stripes socks! I saw the post on Instagram and immediately marked my calendar to get the pattern. I will be making a pair for my Mother in Law for Christmas, along with a pair for myself.

Love the candy cane socks. I always work both socks at the same time. I work 5 rows on the first sock, then 5 on the second sock, etc. When I'm ready to close the toes I'm almost done with the pair.
Great episode! A few years ago my husband and I went to see Josh Gates from Expedition Unknown (I'm a huge fan) and we saw him getting out of his car behind the venue. My husband, like a normal person, said "Hey Josh, Good Luck tonight, we love your show!". I was so nervous/excited that I hid behind a lamp post. To this day I have no idea why that was my reaction and my husband still makes fun of me for it 🤣
😂 oh my gosh!! Isn’t it crazy what our mind/bodies do in those situations!?!
My favorite memory is of my husband playing the Pretty Pretty Princess game with my little girls......25+ years ago!!! Such a nice memory to be reminded of now that they are Moms!!

Yay for advent sock skeins!! I actually got three this year and I too think I am crazy haha!! Heads up on the Freckled Whimsy skein before you split it - last year hers was much skinnier stripes than The Cozy Knitter, so we needed to do more than 24 stripes for each sock unless we wanted a super short leg. I *think* she said she was going to do thicker stripes this year so it would be exactly 24 stripes for each sock, but I don't know for sure. Just would hate to see you split the skein and then realize that it's not exact, so be on the lookout when you're winding ;)

I just finished up the arose Cardigan by Andrea Mowry myself! It's soo pretty in a purple, lavender fade. Enjoyed knitting that up and am sure you'll love it too.
The candy cane socks are gorgeous, I’ve never tried colourwork so maybe I’ll give it a go. The lace to fade boxy is looking very pretty , another podcaster i watch is also making it and hers is lovely too. So nice you got to se Mumford and son,your story is so funny lol that would be me absolutely dumb struck! I’m not watching this season of the crown as it’s being rather disrespectful to people who are still alive, and I don’t feel they should be making things up in the way they are. After 6 hours on trying to do the pin hole cast on now I'm stuck again on where to measure for the one inch mark. Are there any tutorial on knitting this hat or do know of a pattern that's similar but easier to knit?

Oh I just love the candy strip socks. I use light bulb markers so much as well and got the tip from you about counting 10 rows it makes it so easy. Do you think the way you did your sleeves on the every day sweater work with most patterns because I hate decreasing on sleeves and yours look so lovely.

Okay, the socks are so good! And thank goodness your sister could talk. I go nonverbal when overwhelmed sometimes and it’s so strange. It’s better than blurting out something you regret later? That’s what I tell myself at least. I also do that. 🤣 I look forward to seeing the advents. This year I got Woolens and Nosh. It comes wound up and in a bag so you can knit a stripe a day and not get spoiled until it’s done. Kinda cool! ❤
