Seemed that the disadvantaged in Singapore are considered well-off in other countries. It seemed many aged have domestic helpers.
I'm Mdm Lee's personal friend. I used to provide bedside care for her late stroke-survivor husband until the very day he died. Mdm Lee is almost penniless but the community care organisation that oversees her and her late husband's needs made sure that they could tap on government assistance and subsidies to get her a Helper to prevent the loneliness that creeps up after losing a spouse. They've been assisting the couple for more than a decade, and care continues even after her husband's passing.
Mdm Lee was very lonely the 3 months after he died last April, we are very thankful Thida, the Helper has come to live with her. Can't wait for the Circuit Breaker to end so I can pop over and show her this video.

In the UK home carers are overworked . Shortage of PPE. Risk of infection high. A large number of elderly to visit so visits are less than 30 mins . Barely enough time to give personal care let alone clean. It is at breaking point.
