I like this channel because it reviews all kinds of cars that concern normal people. Not all of us want/can afford/can live with Zondas and Aventadors on a daily basis. Good job guys!
well yeah,as an addict to the videos i checked the video when there was still in the air....a few minutes later i rechecked the video and it was marked as private.....i was frustrated and didnt know why....but whatever....Keep up the good work :)
It's great that it has great visibility and good sized mirrors. But that is something to consider that it's hard to get in and out of the back. Also, that rear windows are not so well sized.
As always Matt a really great review. Popped into my local dealer and it is huge. I am looking for space so deciding between the new Santa Fe(great beefy looks), i40 (love the style; similar to a shooting brake with the sloping roof) and waiting for the new Ford Kuga replacement later in the year.
I would love to just hang out and talk about cars with this guy. his opinions are so modest and down-to-earth. Gotta be one of the best car reviewers - more than Top/Fifth Gear
Hello Mats, riding i30 1.6 CRDI model and panoramic sunroof makes breaking noise while turning big bumps and also Climate compressor all defected (all i30 diesel automatic versions) which makes another noise background of the diesel noise.Currently appearance is nice but hyundai has to improve their cars for trying to be quiter than others car makers.
Mat here. Apologies for the re-upload. I made a mistake in the original video saying the old Santa Fe had a boot that opened like a normal door. I obviously confused it with a Toyota Rav 4. Doh! BTW before you start posting - THIS is the first comment all you crazy firsties.
Had one for hire in the USA (2.4, petrol, auto). It was a great car, we drove from Vegas to Yellowstone and back amd even camped in it. It was the most complete SUV i can think of. It even fared ok when we hit a wild deer on the way back to Vegas. Sadly, the replacement Toyota Rav-4 was awful.
how smooth is the drive mat, does it clunk and bang when it hits potholes,im seriously condidering buying this car but wis the crappy roads we have here in yorkshire i need a vehicle smash my spine when im driveing,is it as comfortable as the latest s-mx u test drove ?
J Chs had one as company car died a bit every time I drove it I mean it was so boring, massive mistake missed the Mondeo I had before it because atleast that was fun to drive.
I know what you mean, it's a practical choice and not at all that interesting, ticks a box. I west to test drive a 17 plate recently and did find the interior quite cheap, this is coming our of an current gen A4 s line though, which for me is the best compact exec interior on market. I need the 7 seats though with kids and outside selling kidneys to buy a Q7 it's hard to see many better alternatives, Skoda Kodiaq is decent but ugly in my view. VW all space in R line might be an option.
J Chs vw allspace has no rear room in the 3rd row, probably the best 7 seater is an Xc90 expensive but excellent my wife has one big step up from the vw toerag she had before it. I'm back in a saloon Mazda 6 which I enjoy driving never want to drive another suv as a daily they are so numb to drive.
XC90 is very nice but also very pricey, great machine though. I could get away without the 7 seats 'most' of time, need a bigger boot for sure and hatch opening would be great. A7 or even Skoda Superb (a little dull) would work for me, also looked at few A7's in black edition, not a practical as the SUV but for sure a much nicer daily drive... Have few things in head, new Q5 is decent but pay for it and not that much boot space, I do like looks of i though, GLC is nice looker but interior i feel is not great and off-set steering wheel I am not keen on in general.
J Chs Skoda superb was a real surprise to me I loved the one my work colleague has the estate is massive and was extremely comfortable, it was fully loaded though with absolutely everything on it which made it feel special the interior was very nice. I'm considering one next but the hatchback version against the facelift Mondeo which comes out later this year. Also Toyota is bringing the Camry back next year another one for me to consider as it will be cheap as a company car with it being a Hybrid and 57mpg is better then alot of diesels.
This was way different from the USA because we call that a Santa Fe sport because it’s smaller than the longer Santa Fe with 3 rows it’s unfair that the uk gets 3 rows in the Santa Fe sport and the USA doesn’t
Customers Sue Hyundai Over Leaks in Santa Fe SUV Consumers have filed a class-action lawsuit against Hyundai Motor for leaks in the New Santa Fe SUV. Led by a Santa Fe driver identified as Lee (33), customers filed their suit at the Seoul Central District Court on Oct. 17 demanding that their vehicles be replaced with new ones. The New Santa Fe was unveiled in April last year and now tops SUV sales in Korea. This year alone, 60,000 were sold. But Hyundai has received a growing number of complaints about rain water leaking through the roof or the trunk since the monsoon started. In August, Hyundai apologized and promised to fix the leaks for free and extended the warranty for five years. But many of the customers who filed the complaints felt the carmaker should recall their cars or provide some sort of compensation. There were also concerns that repaired SUVs would fetch lower prices on the used car market. Lee, who led the class-action suit, said, "The vehicle has a structural flaw so a partial repair is not enough." The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority are looking into the problem.
Joel BIelecki No. It was abolished in the UK in 1937 and replaced with Vehicle Excise Duty; I would know since I live in the UK. Road tax WAS a tax motorists used to use to pay towards the road. Churchill abolished it because it was stupid and replaced it with vehicle tax, based on your emissions. The more economical your car is, the less vehicle tax you pay. Drivers tend to say that cyclists don't have any right on the road because 'they don't pay road tax', but neither do Toyota Prius'.
I understand what you're saying. But the tax that Mat was referring to was a tax that is based on the CO2 emissions of your vehicle. Yes, he probably should have used better word choice.
+harrygoozee these days the government normally calls it car tax instead of road tax. People are more likely to understand what car tax means than what VED means.
Santa Fe made me admire the appearance, performance, and price ... compared to the Honda CRV, Toyota Fortuner, or Suzuki Grand Vitara is boring. I've used hyundai over 5 years. and hyundai meet all my needs.
Creanme lo he experimentado... antes los autos japonese eran mejores... pero ya desde 2009 el automotiz coreano crecio bastante y ahora estan hecho para durar y si es que quieren comprar un auto nipona les recomiendo honda que el unico sin problemas
We have 2022 and now it's time for me to start check this 2014 -2017 reviews for cars I can afford it
Seeing mat being the same person after 12 years. It is wholesome
that's not how you enter the back-most seat of santa fe. you can actually fold up the middle seat so you can easily sit at the back
I like this channel because it reviews all kinds of cars that concern normal people. Not all of us want/can afford/can live with Zondas and Aventadors on a daily basis. Good job guys!
Hyundai has improved so much in the last few years.
Hyundai Santa Fe I will buy car Hyundai Santa Fe
This is such a lovely all weather all situations SUV. I'd say it's flawless considering the price tag.

I'm getting addicted to these videos.
This model is really nice. I'm not a huge fan of Hyundai, but they did a great job with the exterior/interior design.
Hi 👋 are still alive 😂 after 10 years.
It's great that it has great visibility and good sized mirrors.
But that is something to consider that it's hard to get in and out of the back. Also, that rear windows are not so well sized.
nobody beats the look of this suv!
Court Mojo the 2014 Kia Sorento sx v6

Thanks Mat! I knew you were not gonna leave such a misleading information on your always accurate videos! Take care, man!
Great reviews!
The greatest part of this video is that Alpina, about to enter the roundabout at 2:30...
Another good job from Hyundai. Hope Korean Car Manufacturer can growing even bigger and compete with some others Japanese brand.
Nice to see you again Matt.
Since when do you go around the corner at that speed in 3rd gear?
It's sad to me that there are so few truly affordable car companies these days. Us poor people need cars too.
My mom asked me "why are u watching car reviews everyday?" Oh God why..
I've had a 2017 model from new 7 seater and it's awesome value for the money.

Everyone here in America seems to think it looks crap, but I actually think it looks really good!
Mat here. Apologies for the re-upload. I made a mistake in the original video saying the old Santa Fe had a boot that opened like a normal door. I obviously confused it with a Toyota Rav 4. Doh! BTW before you start posting - THIS is the first comment all you crazy firsties.

What was it about the RAV-4 that you didn’t like?
The most gorgeous looking vehicle on the planet earth by far!!!
What is Mat doing in this channel 😳
Bro almost smacked the bmw at 2:32
Larry Michael it was far off

North America gets a even larger 7 seater Santa Fe and this shorter wheelbase "sport" model only has 5 seats.
Mat Watson ...I just love your reviews! You are awesome!!
Cheers! ;)
I certainly consider one when they offer a Diesel here in the U.S.
Have you been able to compare the Santa fe 2014 with the Kia Sorento 2014. I'm actually torn between the two at the moment.

Between this Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 and Subaru Outback 2014, which one is the best according to your fair judgement?
How about resale value compared to lets say a Honda Pilot, Toyota RAV 4 or the Mazda CX-9
Love ya Mat. Keep it up.
Serious machine, good looking, practical, good engine and quality. Hard to fault overall without being over critical, decent used value.

the only major problem is nothing but the resale value here in Indonesia, which is really bad compared to the cr-v, fortuner or pajero sport
Back in the day when Matt wasn't bribed by German car brands 😅
Matt sounds so sad in this one....
I love my Santa Fe turbo 2013

This was way different from the USA because we call that a Santa Fe sport because it’s smaller than the longer Santa Fe with 3 rows it’s unfair that the uk gets 3 rows in the Santa Fe sport and the USA doesn’t

" .... monsoon..." -_-
4:25 It costs more in 'road tax'? That doesn't even exist.
In th UK it does

davimurph I'd much rather it be called car tax than 'road tax'. As it is a tax on your car essentially.
I long for a new Renault Espace, such an oddly loveable machine.
I think for the very first time he didn't say "and that brings me to the cars down sides". He didn't did he?
ممتاااااااازه السياااارة

Is this car reliable?? You prefer Honda CR-V or Santa Fe??
i love my santa fe limited woot! haha such a gorgeous car i get so many comments on it
Such a lovely car.
Mazda CX 5 or Hyundai Santa Fe?
I'm pretty sure he was referring to a minivan.
Santa Fe made me admire the appearance, performance, and price ... compared to the Honda CRV, Toyota Fortuner, or Suzuki Grand Vitara is boring. I've used hyundai over 5 years. and hyundai meet all my needs.
as ussual, hyunday and kia are moving up in rhe automotive world. good car.

Best on its price
I wish I could figure out why I trust people with a British accent more than people with other accents.
This video is sooooooooooooo goooood
CarWow
no it's the I'm-a-proud-fan-of-Hyundai's SUV :)
Nice
Which gives you an idea of what the British have for poor, it's even better than most.
Try VW's TDI's or BMW's diesel engines.
I was surprised that it has a third row seat
