So it turns out this does NOT work on Jiyan. Thank you to those in the comments who pointed it out! I double checked, and I also went and tested everyone else. Besides Jiyan, every other character ALL have Dodge Counter s. Maybe the dev's themselves forgot to add this in for Jiyan because they didn't think players would be dodging with him.

In my experience, Counter Attack invulnerability has about about 0.5 - 1 second invulnerability window which also varies per character i believe? so make sure to dodge right away when facing multiple hit attacks before the invulnerability window timer runs out. Great Video!
Oh! I thought, why herons second beak attack never damaged me if I dodged the first one. I surmised that the birb missed. On the side note, it’s so amusing when I try to actually dodge, I end up dead quickly, but, sometimes, when I dont dodge at all enemy can miss 3-5 attacks. I got frustrated with monkey hologram and decided to just let it kill me and it just begun missing his attacks. My skill issue is so bad, I live longer if I don’t even try 😂
Hey I was totally abusing this tech when fighting tempest and crownless. Since these bosses chain their attacks, you can often dodge two attacks with one dodge.
So the I-frame length disparity for height is actually a 4% difference, not a 40% difference. Just thought I’d make that clear, since it’s a pretty big gap between the two. Otherwise, great and solid content!! This is all good info in regards to the INCREDIBLY exceptional dodge mechanic(s) in this game. One of the best I have ever had the joy of using in-game anywhere 👍👍
My main preference is perfect parries, like in Wo Long or Sekiro. Those just feel SO damn good to pull off consistently and makes you feel like you’re in a legit sword fight. lol. A VERY close second, in regards to game mechanics, for me is perfect dodges. This game is SO much damn fun. It literally feels like you are PLAYING a damn anime. KURO GAMES, make a BLEACH style gacha game just like this one PLEASE!!!

It's more scary if u think about future characters when one of the main kit is to utilize counterattack. Ex : Alpha CW in PGR after dodge/perfect dodge u can use atk to use swordwaves to the enemies, if in the future wuwa decide to create alpha in wuwa with similar counteratk swordwaves mechanic in her kit the i-frame is more longer. For sure dev may nerf her in wuwa maybe with shortest i-frame or just a second after counteratk who count as i-frame. Excited for future character. Great video as always ❤
Jiyan doesn't seem to have any s for his counter for some reaason, so maybe if they release a counterattack focused character in the future they will also take this into account. An Alpha/CW type of character in WW would be sick though.
Yo... That's what I m doing since I got her coz I can see that mechanics which can be also applied with yinlin which I was practicing that with encore... If u can to that with encore...u r a true master coz the hit box window b/w dodge attack and constant attack is super short in encore than other characters. But for delayed counter to work...u need to know the attack pattern which can improve ur timing for incoming attacks from enemies...its just my take 😅😊😊

Sanhua....u can try it....but still it will be quite challenging coz her heavy attack is Integrate to forte...u can just misuse it with dodge after skill...it will become a delayed double dodge counter. First, good vid. I discovered this a while back, and didn't think much of it, but I can see why it would not at all be obvious to a lot of players. Use your invuln moves people. Dodge, counter, ults, intro skills all have invuln. This is speculation/conjecture on my part. For the arrow rain you used in your invuln frame testing, the variance might be due to timing. I believe dodges are frame 1 invuln (meaning no start up frames that can be hit), and the arrow rain is likely not just a continuous hitbox, but rather a multi hit move with several consecutive hitboxes, each doing damage at set intervals. If its like other such moves in other games, then there are also likely small gaps between hits where one hit's box ends, then a gap of a few frames, then the next hit's box goes active. So depending on your initial dodge timing, invuln might be expiring during one of those gaps, leading to the appearance that there is variance in invuln frames on a given character's dodge. It's also unclear to me if the dodge slowdown affects projectile speeds, or just the enemy's actions, or if it's a global slowdown, so the slowdown could be playing a role in the variance you see in invuln frames, depending on what you are dodging. In other games, often when you dodge/parry/counter something, the properties of that mechanic are applied to the thing you using the mechanic against. Just some speculation from a fighting game player that wishes this game had a hitbox viewer with frame data info. I'm surprised there isn't a 3rd party tool out there to extract the frame data from the game files yet.

I don't think actual dodge s should have variance, I gave an estimate for the frames because I also believed the arrow rain does not do "continuous dmg" in the sense that there should be a gap of a few frames, but it was what I thought came the closest. With how weird some parry hit box are and occasionally camera jiggling while enemy is in front this will help save a lot of stamina. Oh and also Jinhsi flying/slashing everywhere against me.(Tho the counter did save her multiple times and here I thought it was her special dragon swirling mechanic that's blocking the view and also blocking the enemy so I didn't died :/) I wish they'd add an OFF button for attack into enemy direction (free aim for melee) and the character just attack from input direction / or where they're facing.(like MH) Also I've failed holo6 cuz I tried countering many times but also ve ran out of stamina and got bonked(was very confused at first cuz didn't hold dir key when dodge and somehow ended up with 0 stamina).
I think I’m so brain rotted from playing the Elden ring DLC I try to look for quick opening but keep forgetting my swaps. Also I have realized how horrid some of the hit boxes are in wuwa. This video was helpful for me to do attacks while dodging thx
I like that you mostly used Crownless as an example, because I am sick and tired of dealing with both Crownless' and Dreamless' multi-hitting bullsh#t messing with my dodge timings.
I really gotta thank lvl.4+ hologram bosses for learning this, I can't count how many times I was saved by this when I'm caught lacking on their bullshit. Unfortunately I haven't got the tech down yet, so I still get wrecked by occasionally... lol
I think that "less i-frames for shorter characters" is unintended. They've just messed up with their engine. It looks like its calculating something based on character's height (actually there are lots of things calculated like that), and the devs just haven't put enough thought (or testing) into it. I pray they fix it, or better still, make some adjustments to balance it. For example, it would be great (and kinda logical) if smaller character used less stamina or recover faster.
Thank you, I was thinking why pressing dodge early makes me unable to move in some fights. But sadly all the dodge counter logic I know does not work on my phone even at "very low" graphic setting, also lag and the new camera optimization made it worse for my small phone. This game is best for PC.
Great explanation! I get frustrated with dodging in this game. I'm careful not to go on cooldown with my dodges, and yet sometimes I just can't get the timing. My latency is low, but yeah... I'll see a boss coming at me, I dodge, and get owned anyway. Does this game queue up hits? Like if I spam attack a few times?

Ah I knew I was not crazy as my mortefi could just stand and counter shoot through the monkey boss ground wave slams without dodging. Aw man, thought it was a bug and I was abusing it for free damage, now my clear is just "legit and using intentional mechanics", that's less funny lol
Realistic my aff, the fact that there is no posture DMG like u have in sekiro and even Genshin known as poise DMG there. In wuwa doing a counter attack does nothing but DMG the only kinda poise DMG u do is parry but that too doesn't last more than half a second. The enemy is never in the 1 or half a second knowckback state that frequently that u can actually call it fair and realistic.

Yea you can think of the delayed counter as a slight upgrade from the pure dodge strat, since you're still iframing but now you're doing more damage.

I think that "less i-frames for shorter characters" is unintended. They've just messed up with their engine. It looks like its calculating something based on character's height (actually there are lots of things calculated like that), and the devs just haven't put enough thought (or testing) into it. I pray they fix it, or better still, make some adjustments to balance it. For example, it would be great (and kinda logical) if smaller character used less stamina or recover faster.
Thank you, I was thinking why pressing dodge early makes me unable to move in some fights. But sadly all the dodge counter logic I know does not work on my phone even at "very low" graphic setting, also lag and the new camera optimization made it worse for my small phone. This game is best for PC.
Great explanation! I get frustrated with dodging in this game. I'm careful not to go on cooldown with my dodges, and yet sometimes I just can't get the timing. My latency is low, but yeah... I'll see a boss coming at me, I dodge, and get owned anyway. Does this game queue up hits? Like if I spam attack a few times?
Those who are struggling against the mighty crusher use the delay counter mentioned in the video. Trust me, it's super useful.

I always use the quick counter, and it's pretty helpful for damage output. This delayed counter tech is actually helpful for extra 1 second (ish) . Thank you so much for the information, now I'm ready to go beat this crownless

Ah I knew I was not crazy as my mortefi could just stand and counter shoot through the monkey boss ground wave slams without dodging. Aw man, thought it was a bug and I was abusing it for free damage, now my clear is just "legit and using intentional mechanics", that's less funny lol

Realistic my aff, the fact that there is no posture DMG like u have in sekiro and even Genshin known as poise DMG there.
In wuwa doing a counter attack does nothing but DMG the only kinda poise DMG u do is parry but that too doesn't last more than half a second.
The enemy is never in the 1 or half a second knowckback state that frequently that u can actually call it fair and realistic.
