  • Ronny Shaver of Ronny's Garage presents his second "Hands On" Without Touching ZOOM Technical Meet at his facility in California. This tech meet is being streamed over the internet (instead of being presented in the presence of the usual gathering of car enthusiasts) to be in compliance with all applicable state, county and city COVID-19 ordinances governing social distancing and gatherings during this pandemic. In this tech meet, Ronny describes and explains many of the features on this Arnage and many of the tell-tale signs of pending mechanic service that will be required. This tech meet is in 9 parts (each about 10 minutes in length). After viewing this clip please continue on to view the next clip to view the entire tech meet. If you would like to join in the next ZOOM streaming tech meet with Ronny please email your email address to ronnysgarage@gmail.com to be put on the invitation list. Congratulations Ronny on another successful ZOOM live streaming tech meet! As always, "The topics demonstrated and discussed in this video are for informational purposes only. Many of the repairs call for a degree of mechanical competence, experience and expertise. If not performed properly, the attempted repairs may result in property damage and personal injury."

    Most manufacturer use the crank sensor to monitor misfires pcm looks for speed change in the crank sensor circuit

    My mechanic tells me I have to replace all four struts on my arnage 2000. I have been told that the front can be cross referenced with BMW. Is there any cross referencing for the rear? What's you take on the aftermarket parts? Can struts be rebuilt for the arnage?

    Hi Ronny. Why does the Arnage blow head gaskets?

    Is it true that you should stay away from pre-2007 Arnages because the cam geometry is too flat at the "tips" leading to excessive cam wear and premature failure?

    • @paulblair898
      @paulblair898 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not that the cam geometry is flat in the pre-2007 Arnages, its that the pre-2007's use flat tappet lifters as opposed to the ≥2007's roller lifters. There are some camshaft geometry changes associated with going from flat tappet lifters to roller lifters but it isn't dramatic.
      To answer your original question: I'd say it depends on the history of the car, one that had

      @@paulblair898 Got it. Thanks. What about 2007 onward: I read that those have problems with the valve springs and that those are seated? in the block? Which is the lesser poison? Regards, Bo

      @@boandersen2895 I haven't heard of any valve spring problems on the 2007-2009 Arnages, however the Mulsannes which use a very similar engine to the Arnage's did have special collapsible lifters in the block they used for cylinder deactivation that can be problematic. A valvetrain problem unique to the >2007 Arnage's is excessive cam journal wear (which is arguably more serious since it is the block that is wearing and not a replaceable but unobtanium camshaft), but this doesn't seem to be nearly as common as the cam lobe wear the 2007 will have a more reliable engine.

    Great video. However, I wonder why do you have to constantly reafirm " in my opinnion", or " at least I think so" ?
    You come across as if you are constantly apologizing for having an opinnion,!
    You shouldavoid that and simply state what you think........ at least in my opinnion. Cheers

    It is clear these guys no nothing about a, bentley arnage I own one, in fact I bought on when they very new on the market in 1999 I have had three new one since then the last being 2009 so getting old just take it to a Bentley service agent, don't listen to these cranks a Bentley agent has all the correct tools, and you save money hand over fist, they do a lot of things and don't even charge but most important you never get a breakdown and they will exchange your car anytime you like, once you have bought one the move up to a newer model, does not cost a lot keep them away from these cranks you will end up with trouble my service cost are cheaper the my wife's audi a6 much cheaper!!
