I’d be interested to see some data on how many people with charging pads in their cars actually use them. I never use mine and all I ever hear is that charging pads in cars charge slow and get your phone really hot.

It’s the only way Kia can appeal to customers like YOURSELF. To answer your question: Yes. Kia is a luxury brand. It’s part of Kia’s strategy to elevate their image and target different segments of the market. Toyota and Honda do not have a need for that. They’ve already built their brands reputation a long time ago.

While nothing new really revealed here, I'm happy to finally see some new coverage on this vehicle. It has been dead silence on it since the reveal back in March. Even though they aren't coming out with AWD or HEV to compete with some others, I still think this is my next vehicle, so it has been killing me not to see any information on it. Pricing and color options would be great to see so I can start to spec what I want and reach out to dealers to try and secure exactly what I want.

The 1.6T is the engine that just left the K5. It is no slouch. The prefacelift K5 with the 1.6T is a whole second quicker 0-60 than the current 2.5NA. Anyone thinking about the K4. Get the 1.6T and have fun.
Love the look of this, especially the exterior side and rear. That sloping back is beautiful and it's just begging for a fully opening hatch. But I will readily admit I am biased on that part in my car tastes.
Test drove a 2024 Civic, Corolla, Forte, Elantra and a Soul. I cancelled out the Corolla first and then the Civic. Hated them both. Ended up in a 2024 Forte and I absolutely love it!

This is a stunning entry into this segment. It’s probably the most modern, interesting, and advanced vehicle in this segment, its more than competitive, It’s really the segment leader. If they make a GT N, the rest of the players can just pack up and go home lol.

@yerocal30 I think they mentioned something related to discontinuing the K5 and only selling the K4 due to poor sales in the more expensive mid-size sedan class. The K4 is a larger compact to fill up the K5's eventual loss.
They're very close but I can already see some of the cost cutting like more plastic parts and obviously space. I have the new K5 and compared to the outgoing model, there are some major improvements like acoustic glass, less plastic, sound deadening and insulation that I doubt will be on the K4. Not to mention the 12 speaker Bose system (K4 likely 8 speaker Harmon-Kardon) that is vastly improved as well and multi-link rear suspension standard across trims. Very solid otherwise and possibly one of the best options on the market for value.
Measuring the trunk was fantastic! I think most people aren't going to care, but it helps those of us who do! (I personally have a 2'x3' poster I have to keep flat.)
There is a possibility chance that Kia might make a K4 GT model and put the 2.0 turbo in it and it be the cousin of the Hyundai Elantra N. Remember they are own by the same company
@@blackgold754 Some similar designs but the sedan segments are different. K4 and Elantra are in the compact sedan segment along with Civic, Corolla and Versa. K5 and Sonata are midsize sedans along with Accord, Camry, and Altima.
The Kia K4 is okay. I just rather prefer the K5 and the K5 need a needs to match its twin sister, the Hyundai sonata which has a power liftgate rear window, sun shades, etc etc😊

I've been shopping in this market for a while and seeing this come with a ventilated seats option, along with standard HDA2, full touch screen, wireless carplay. Only thing missing is a true GT.
I'm really curious to know what kind of ride quality improvement will be had with the acoustic windshield and tires I saw mentioned on the site. The wagon/hatchback version looks like a pretty solid choice and it'd be what I buy.
Kia has hit all my hot buttons with this one! Love the style, which looks like it has taken cues from the Volvo line-up (which is a good thing IMO). With the 190hp turbo, I could easily justify not going to the GT, as it should be plenty quick. Gorgeous interior, the black and white 'skunk' interior is striking. Kia has outdone themselves. The only omission I could see is no sunglass holder, lol. WTG Kia!
Nope, I expect pricing to be 24-31K. My guess is they sre going to try and compete with the Civic head on. Civic is pretty pricey ranging from 25-33K. No other maintsream compact sedan gets that pricey. Most of the compeition top around 30K and start in the low 20s

Personally would never buy a Kia or Hyundai but I like that they come out with new changes so quickly. It makes competition stronger and encourages other manufacturers to do better.
They still have a long way to go to compete with Honda and Toyota. Although T and H have dropped the ball in quality of their engines the previous models.
Really like what KIA did with this K4, they should make a hybrid and plugin hybrid version as well. The EV6 isn't bad looking however, a lot of folks seem to prefer the traditional sedan style, if only they could have made an EV Stinger with updated styling and not raise the price too much. Looking forward to the driving review.

Kia has been using the K nomenclature since 2008/9 in Korea. With the k with the circle emblem. K5-optima, k7- cadenza, k-9 America doesn't have. But pretty much an equus equivalent.
Toyota and Honda, are not what they used to be anymore, they are about on par with the Korean's now, my 2010 Kia Borrego has 350K on it, and still going strong.
Kia has no choice to rename and refresh their model line up because many insurance companies are refusing to insure current models. Finance companies are refinancing their current models with ridiculously high rates......THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO REFRESH, RENAME, and REBRAND to keep Kia alive.
the engine in the GT is similar to the one offered in the Cerrato in other markets. Im not surprised at the features being offered in lower market vehicles,theyre all modular after all,if you really wanted you could put a 360 camera on a Mirage. Point is its all well and good the car has those features but what are you going to pay for them?
It looks amazing and I would love to have one. But the mark up will be insulting in Canada and I still do not trust Hyundai/Kia. Although they do appear to be heading in the right direction on reliability.

Purchased my 2024 Kia Forte GT Manual back in February. I'm not disappointed in my choice looking at the 2025 model.

Kia has no choice to rename and refresh their model line up because many insurance companies are refusing to insure current models. Finance companies are refinancing their current models with ridiculously high rates......THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO REFRESH, RENAME, and REBRAND to keep Kia alive.

the engine in the GT is similar to the one offered in the Cerrato in other markets. Im not surprised at the features being offered in lower market vehicles,theyre all modular after all,if you really wanted you could put a 360 camera on a Mirage. Point is its all well and good the car has those features but what are you going to pay for them?

@@GUEST-ox1sftoo much overstyling on the honda, and the corolla is kinda small, and also the gr is just the hatchback, don’t remember if there’s a corolla sedan gr, but even then they’re pretty bland. You can’t tell me this kia doesn’t outright beat all of them
