So you've done Tube Snake Boogie and Pearl Necklace, now you guys need to do Tush to complete the trifecta! Keep up the great work guys. I always enjoy you reactions!😎
Y'all so damn funny !! That look, hearing it for the first time, priceless....... We know what the fuck were talking bout. We came from the 70's, everything was cool
It was great, it was the sweet spot, after the introduction of easy and effective birth control, and most anything else that happened could be cured with a penicillin shot. When we could have more fun at the river wearing cut-off jeans and our bikinis underneath, with some cases of beer, than people will ever have with their designer labels and top-shelf mixed drinks. Just playing and swimming all day, jumping off the rope swing, blasting music, then crashing around the bonfire sometime in the wee hours. Bothering no one, and no one bothering us. Good times.
Coolest cat ever to hold and axe and groan out a tune. The Reverend Billy G. Song always cracks me up. The way these dudes never took themselves serious 😂
Was lucky enough to see these guys a few times all over Western Europe (Belgium, Holland, Grand Duchy Of Luxemourg, Germany) in the early eighties, in the wake of their "Eliminator" success. One of the few truly fun bands to watch. Jokes, silly lyrics and excellent musicianship combined. Good times galore.
The last album before they exploded with eliminator on MTV. Up till then they were just that little ol band from texas. Their documentary is so worth a watch.
This was the tour they were on when I saw them for the first time. Helluva laser show. I was 17, it was the day they took my senior HS picture (with the tux ha ha). I had a huge smile for the camera that day, because I was finally getting to see ZZ Top. Growing up in Texas in the 70's, I was turned on to these dudes at the age of 10 in 1974 by my older brother. That night was awesome. I still have the program. The t-shirt didn't quite make it this long. I saw them several more times thru the years, the last time (about 20 years ago), I was in the front row, stage left, in the beautiful Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington overlooking the Columbia River gorge. I'll treasure that show, as well.
Another great ZZ Top song! Theyre really just playing blues based boogie woogie rock n roll amplified. And they always found a way to make great new songs with it.
I remember the song Gimme All Your Lovin' making it into the kids movie The Santa Clause. The Elves/kids would be dancing to lyrics such as "if i blow my top, will you let it go to your head?".
Do you know what's that video for the hot boy went to the black boy's Bob akee? I think the brothers need to come over to a z z top by b q z z top's got a song, and it's called by b q, and then it's going to bob😅😅😅😅😅
You can never go wrong with ZZ Top! Next if you have not, do Cheap Sunglasses, if you have do Just Got Back From Baby's from their underrated first album. They were dope right away, they sure freaked us out the first time we saw them in 1973 on the Tres Hombres Tour. They are fire! 🔥🔥🔥Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
The "Rev. Billy G" is one of the reasons my personal "number one" guitar is a Les Paul. Gibbons is one of the most underrated guitarists of the rock era to my mind, anyway. We saw them on tour whenever they were appearing close enough to get to. They'll take a 3-4 min track and turn it into a 10-12 min live jam. And they'd do a all night long. That "lil ol' band from Texas" were a great party band.
I'm sure everyone understands what "Rock and Roll" originally stood for! Such a dirty genre! Every generation has its own language that the parents didnt know. And I venture to say most came from music.
The thought of parental consent never entered the minds of Americans in 1981. The reason ZZ Top could get away so hard in 1981, and anyone else from 1966 to 1985, is that the people in charge didn't know what they were talking about. They thought a "pearl necklace" was a pearl necklace.
“Pearl Necklace”? OK lol-ZZ Top did love their risqué lyrics:) “Fool For Your Stockings” and “Manic Mechanic” are two good ones from ZZ Top also. I requested a song in previous comment and didn’t notice that autocorrect totally screwed up the group’s name -the song is “Impotence” by The Wilde Flowers. Other request is “Never Glid Before” by Gong-if you could react to the version showing the group doing a home rehearsal of the song, that would be very cool as that version gives a very good sense of the whimsy and eccentricity of the Canterbury scene:) Thanks!
You guys are onto something here. You like beats, well then, here are two from ZZ TOP to propel you down the road. VELCRO FLY applies a wicked drum machine to its typically suggestive sound bite lyrics. And the other techno dance syringe fueled moment comes on PIN CUSHION. Both of these are 8o's babies that fall more in line with their later material. The last song is from Steely Dan. It is seldom reviewed but nonetheless carries that signature perfect groove of a Steely Dan number. It closes out their initial run of albums from the 7o's as they would break up after this album GAUCHO in 198o. TIME OUT OF MIND is the song. It is also to songs like FM (NO STATIC AT ALL) from the soundtrack of the same name and DEACON BLUES from the album AJA. Hear is some prime music from studio jazz dragons Fagen and Becker. Enjoy
I love “Time Out Of Mind”- you just don’t hear this laid-back cool in songs anymore, everything is either so earnest or so over-the-top-from whichever end of the spectrum, the songs now just sound like they try too hard. Irony especially is a lost art. Everybody gotta have a “cause” now. If anyone makes a song with drug or sex references now, they’re winking so hard, musically, to make sure that the listeners “get it”. Totally undermines the cool factor by acting like everyone is a child who won’t get it unless they’re hammered over the head with it. Although this-the “cool” and “ironic” factors-perhaps refer more to 70s music than 60s music. But at least the earnestness and sincerity was innocent and fresh the first time around-now it just sounds tired and superficial. OK I said my piece, I’ll go sit back in my rocking chair now lol.
@MelanieAF It doesn't help they can't actually write about something other than how much money they have, to diss someone who hurt their little feelings, sex, in the most vulgar way, and can't articulate a coherent sentence. Because sitting down and writing actually requires some effort and discipline. The fact they don't have to hone their craft, learn to play an actual instrument, depend on likes for an audience, and play the victim better than a deer in headlights, who actually is a victim, speaks volumes. The fact that their biggest influences are the Kardashians, a computer generated world that rewards bad behavior, video games in general, social media, filters and masking apps from their smartphones, and not being able to solve a single problem without said phone is blasphemy. Way back in the 2oth century, we may have problems, but solving them was part of growing up and becoming an adult. But since you stay on your parents' insurance until you're 26, work from home, and not understand that they are the generation of sheep bring groomed to be sheered by Big Brother is fine, as long they have latest Apple phone. But the end of the world is coming. At least they'll get an alert on the phone to tell them. God forbid they look up and actually see what's going on in reality. I'm 65 years old now. I think I'll enjoy a cigarette and bourbon. My card game with my friends here at the table is getting interesting because I was just dealt 3 aces and a King. So, I'm going to smoke this cigarette, drink my bourbon, and raise the pot. And after the hand is over, I'm going to my rocking chair and read my new Philip K. Dick collection of stories. Later
"Pure as the driven slush" was always one of my favorite lines...
@@erikapainter5953 Awesome 😅
Yep !! It really don't cost that much
ZZ Top , Kings of the Double Entendre 🙂
You two managed to keep your comments G rated...
Billy Gibbons is a national treasure. Epitome of cool.
These guys were on fire all through the 70s and 80s: blues, funk, fun, and trash. One of a kind.
No double entendres. Straight to the point. Fucking awesome.
Without knowing ZZ Top you would think this is a song about jewelry.
@@AirplayBeats One of those songs that just makes you smile.
You just know these 3 dudes had the best time writing and playing their music. 😎 They will always bring a smile! 😄
So you've done Tube Snake Boogie and Pearl Necklace, now you guys need to do Tush to complete the trifecta! Keep up the great work guys. I always enjoy you reactions!😎

Seeing your faces react to this song was absolutely precious🥰
"Pearl Jam" takes on a whole new meaning...
Haha 😆 Good one ❗
LOL!!!!
Coolest cat ever to hold and axe and groan out a tune. The Reverend Billy G. Song always cracks me up. The way these dudes never took themselves serious 😂

Got me under pressure is another monster scandalous song. Love it. Cheap Sunglasses is another classic.
Still cracks me up how they got these songs by the censors back in the day. 🤣📿🤣
As long as they didn't use any "FOUR LETTER" words
@@chuckblazek1117or any of the "seven" words. lol
Most fun concert I've ever been to. 3 times
Love how y'all are BOTH alternating between nodding to the music and shaking your heads at the lyrics. 😂😂❤️✌️

These guys had a lot of fun in their lives.
I saw them in July in Alpharetta Ga. The crowd went crazy when they played this! 🔥
I saw this tour 82!
Same album Ten Foot Pole
What’s funny is they have this huge catalog, and this is the song people always want to hear.
Bass and guitar locked in..... jammin
I remember when this came out I was like what the hell ? Didn’t understand till later lol
I was still in my teens, my future husband had a lot of fun at my expense explaining some of ZZ Top’s lyrics 😳
You guys need to/want to hear.... "Fool For Your Stockings".... "Oh Have Mercy"- Billy Gibbons
Rock n roll ends up taking you places you never imagined. ❤❤❤😂😂😂
I remember hearing about my old bosses wife shouting out, "Our Song!" When this came on the radio 😂
Them boys are naughty!! Great one guys...El Diablo next please!

Great song and reaction
Scandalous, Outrages, and Monsterously talented and old school gangster. ZZ Top is taking it to the streets and keepin' it real.
They aint nasty, they bad, they nationwide
My first real headliner concert in Columbia SC Styx opened for them on the Fandango tour 1975 I was 14 Augusta Ga
Proud to be Texan cuz of this band right here!!!!
This one was faun hangin with you guys ! Some funny as lyrics then the close with a solid Gibbons solo!

@@tjmasson1013 The entire first album is worth a reaction! They just killed it. 🎸
ZZ Top are the bridge from old time blues to modern Rock music.
Those smiles were glued on
Such a sweet love song
Got Me Under Pressure is another good one in this vein.
OR, the kings of the obvious innuendo. They said it WITHOUT saying it. Thanks for your reaction.

Time these guys took a look into some of the famous groupies from the 60’s and 70’s.
Peace
Didn’t realize till recently that Connie Hamzy (“sweet sweet Connie” of Grand Funk fame) died in 2021.
Thump and bump that bass baby!!
Lol 😂 “is ZZtop the 1st ones that the parental advisory “ !!!!
music to make a brother blush!
Man, the tone of that guitar solo. So dirty.
I'm sure everyone understands what "Rock and Roll" originally stood for! Such a dirty genre! Every generation has its own language that the parents didnt know. And I venture to say most came from music.
Early ACDC has a lot of sexual double entendre as well.
The song "The Jack". There's the album version THEN there's the live version.
She was getting bombed and I was getting blown away 💧💧💧
Yes, ZZ Top for women’s empowerment woo!!!!!!!
"That's not jewelry she's talking about... really don't cost that much" Bros. 😎
she headed to the Milky way💯
Keep up the good work fellas. Really enjoy all of your reactions
Damn, Billy was fucking on fire back in the day!
Mexican Blackbird is another great trip down this road.
Got to hit 'I Got The Six' or 'Tush' next!
For some strange reason, in the 80's i was 18-28 and all my female friends loved this song.
Only cuz they didn't want to Swallow
😂
You’re right about the raw Texas rock sound was now starting the modern sound. The next record took it to the next level, even the drums.
Yes sir
Hard not laugh at these two songs!!
It really don’t cost that much”👊
Go all way back to first album. “ just got back from baby’s” it’s a treat.
I like "TV DINNERS".
It was an Mtv hit.
This was the album before Eliminator, when you would start to hear the signs of where they were going in the 80's.
The best song about giving a girl a facial😂😂
Check out "Ten dollar man" from their '76 Tejas album......
We've made it this far, how about Automobile by NWA?
The thought of parental consent never entered the minds of Americans in 1981. The reason ZZ Top could get away so hard in 1981, and anyone else from 1966 to 1985, is that the people in charge didn't know what they were talking about. They thought a "pearl necklace" was a pearl necklace.
This is the time where commercialism started to creep in. 🤷🏻♂️🤘🏼❤️
This is just a really good album all around. I forgot how many hooks were on it!
You should give “Going down to Mexico” next…..off their first album!
😂👍🏼 they don’t play around
It is what it is. 😂
The jewel she talking bout really don’t cost that much. She was getting bombed and I was getting blown away.
You need to listen to the live side of the Fandango album!! Just good old Texas party music.
You should check out I need you tonight, It's on the eliminator album., It's got some of Billy's best guitar work on that track.
You guys need to hear Zipper job by them lol
I've always heard that the name ZZ Top..came from the Rolling Papers ..ZigZag and Tops ..
The guitar solo allways reminded me of Hendrix
😂 “Boy, these boys was scandalous”!!!!
Yea......the boys in beards went there. ❤
