- It was Disneyland for Vintage Collectors, and one of my best hobby weekends ever. We came for the cards but left enriched by the people.

Hey Dan, I enjoyed the recap and hearing about your great interactions with fellow TH-camrs. I wish I could have been there.
What a wonderful variety of cards. As I mentioned before, your collection digs deeper than just the HOFers which I like. That is what attracts me to a collection is when it has an interesting personality to it.
Congrats on the 53 Mays. I don’t worry about overpaying here and there for a card I really want to add. Like you, I have been doing this a long time and learned that I don’t need to win every batter as long as I win the war.

Really great recap Dan! You had some tremendous pickups and really amazing gifts. I’ve been lucky enough to become good friends with Matt and Theo over the last year plus so I can personally attest to how truly nice and generous they both are. Your pickups covered so many different bases. Congrats on that awesome’53 Mays! Mine has very similar tape marks and it just adds great character and a story in my opinion. Thanks for sharing! I’m looking forward to the National

Dan, the guy you bought the Hank Arron double play, is where i got my bazooka. He had some great oddball stuff! Matt is the real deal, such an awesome guy! @22:05 I think I had that same book! Not a bad place to start for people who are newer to the hobby and would to learn and read about vintage cards/players.

What a great time you guys had. The 52 StarCal decals and the Dixie lids are 2 of my favorite oddball sets. You’ll have to come to Boston and go to the big card show . It’s twice a yr .

Enjoyed the video Dan, and of course, those great cards that you picked up. I did crack up about not wanting to tell anyone about an upcoming Hank Aaron show for fear someone would take the idea...I think we've all had thoughts like that before. LOL

The only Rosen Dixie Lid I am aware of is from 1954. Now you need to collect another 15 or so different back variations!
You are correct sir. I’ve been doing the research on this before I sub to SGC and all indications are 1954. It was marked as 1952 on the front loader. Thanks for watching the video and contributing this helpful info.
Dan, did you buy that Hank Aaron from JD's table? I remember you looking it over.
Sammy, it was the same dealer as the Rosen cards all the way in the back corner. Right after that, you went over to try to get a Bazooka Seaver right near him. Was that JD where I bought the Rosen cards?
I spent $200 dollars at a bad restaurant in nyc have nothing to show ,,you stole the mays

There are a few women who do actively collect vintage, I know of at least three on Twitter. On TH-cam, you can check out Nina’s channel, although she hasn’t been that active lately. Nina is very close to completing the 1952 Bowman set. @ninaschronicles
