This an unquestionable rule - the more a person is educated, the easier it is to understand them. Educated people pay attention to their speech, their pronunciation, they are usually aware who they speak to. Thanks a lot, I have a degree in interpreting and translation, I live in Algeria. I love American literature and knowing how the words sound in real make my reading even more aesthetic. I think I find something Californian in the way you talk. You remind me, even in your intonations, of the thinker Christina Hoff Sommers who has a Californian accent. But maybe I am wrong, so are you Californian, or from somewhere else? Because I noticed Californians have a special way to pronounce certain words. Also do Southerners very differently. Thanks.

Thanks for this lesson! Please try to incorporate the word “tournament” in one of your lessons please!! I’m requesting this because many sportscasters mispronounce this word and it drives me nuts!!! They say a “twa-na-ment, which is wrong!! There is no tw in the word!!!! It is pronounced like “turn-a-mint!! How easy is that!!!!

Mam what a value of tenses in English
It’s possible to explain the sings like (c) or 3 and so on I mean the sing of stresses
I am planning to move to the US and I want to sound American. I am using Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, the way you pronounced the word PRESTIGIOUS is the same as the British pronounciation in the dictionary not as the American one and also the word ALMOND there is no L in the ipa according to that dictionary. My question is does the American English have more than one standard pronounciation? Thanks in advance

At 7‘23‘’， you pronounced "intermittent" with the emphasis on the first syllable, as you explained, but the IPA that you gave at the same time had the primary stress mark on the third syllable. So, variants exists?
