Commonwealth of Man diplomat here: you both overwhelmed and confused our leaders with your proposal for subjugation and federation. Our bureaucrats were mixing up the files, the admirals on the one hand demanded more ships for defending our independence and on the other to contribute as much as possible! 😂
Great for teaching new players, splitting duties, and being able to micro with less pausing. As well as just roleplay, which is at least a third of the playerbase.
If you set the Crisis to "All" the 2nd and 3rd Crisis spawn at truple and quintuple power. So at x25 it becomes x75 and x125 without needing mods. (Which can pretty effortlessly take it further.)
Starbase capacity comes from technology, edicts, some traditions and civic choices! Unity generally increased through building monuments on your worlds, though society tech can increase this too as can some traditions, edicts and ethic choices such as spiritualist! Hope it helps!
Every 10 systems gives you a starbase. Unyielding gives 4 more star bases. The Strategic Coordination Megastructure gives 6. Techs exist that give ~13 give or take 2. One of the Ascension Perks gives 5. Unity is easy. Admin or Religious buildings make Unity jobs. Culture Worker buildings make Unity and Unity jobs. Happy factions make Unity per pop. The Art Installation Megastructure makes Unity. There are other, rarer sources with half of the traditions intruducing a minor new source.

For non-memery play is this co-op mode any good? Seems like one person would be bored out of their skull half the time or something.

@@TrueWolves Word, I love it for rp, esp Democracies. Whenever I do Democracy co-op we always vote on things like traditions or declaring war, etc.
At the difficulty they're playing you'd be surprised how much Starcraft you need to invoke click-wise.
Maybe it's time for 50x crisis, 100x crisis.
