I still miss my 2000 Avalon. Best car ever!
I still miss my 2000 Toyota Avalon that got totaled in a car accident after being sideswiped by a drunk driver in a rental car trying to make a u turn and it was also that drivers 2nd accident in one week but I was still able to drive my Avalon home that night but the next morning I took the body repair shop and said it was totaled and said that there was no way for it to be fixed cause my driver door was jammed from the impact and it couldn’t open so Rest In Peace my Avalon 2000-2018 I would buy another one In a heart beat but I 2018 Toyota Avalon and I enjoy it pretty fun to drive
@@ambergriebel9969 Mine was totaled in 2013 But I later learned that I really could have kept my car and got it fixed because because only the bumper fell off. It however was a question about the engine possibly never being the same.
@@Teeyah2 well I’m sorry to hear that your Avalon got totaled but my Avalon lost most of its value due to the accident since the side airbags blew but the that was a heck of a safe vehicle I just only had minor cuts on my arm due to the doors glass shattering from impact

That’s exactly what my friend said! A lexus Toyota. Luxury without wanting to brag and just luxury for pure comfort! That column shifter option and front split bench seating is such a gem. Not many Avalons had it, too bad the option is not offered for any models after these.
I have one of these with 175k miles and love it.

Forgot to mention that the rear seats recline. Also between the rear seats if they fold down armrest that has cup holders and behind it is a locking pass through door to the trunk!
I wish they still made this style!

Why isn’t there a center console with a shifter? I didn’t see it.
Not all avalons have them
For the 1990’s - 2004 there was an option for “front split bench seating”. This allowed for an extra passenger to sit up front. It’s a really cool option, not many Avalons had the option. This also gives you more knee room since there is no center counsol and allows Acess from either front doors to the drivers seat.
Due to this, the gear shifter is on the steering column which in a way is awesome as well! It’s a shame this is no longer an option.
