    Congratulations on your finish! I volunteered, you might have seen me at the first aide station, blue lake, I was the girl checking runners bib number in and out. I absolutely love this race, I have attempted it 3 times, DNF at quarts ridge, missed cutoff time 2 years in a row. That section is rough! I'm going to try it again this coming year, hopefully 2024 will be my year to cross the finish line. Thank you for filming your journey and sharing it.

      That first aid station was chaos with so many racers piling in all at once. You guys got slammed - kudos for taking on something that intense and pushing through! The Lewis to Quartz section is really long and tough so the good news is that you've seen some of the worst Bigfoot can throw at you and can train mentally & physically for it. After the first stretch around Mt St Helens, the low-lying stretch around Chain of Lakes was my favorite, so this year when you beat the cutoffs you've got some beautiful trails waiting for you. Way to push!

      Thank you! It has some spectacular highs and the lows take some real grit. You won't forget doing it.

    Nicely done! That morning climb up to Norway pass and mt Margaret looked stunning! I did the 40 in 2022 and am coming back for the 200 this summer. Can’t wait!

      @@adrian_powell Thank you so much! It was a great race. Already forgot about the hard parts and now I'm eyeing my first 100 miler (UTE 100 in 2024).

      @@SeeChadRun UTE 100 looks gorgeous! I spent some time in the lower elevation, in the desert & slickrock, that seeing so many alpine meadows is blowing my mind. Great pick dude, that looks very inspiring. Looking forward to seeing how it goes!

    Congratulations on your finish! The scenery is amazing! I wish your video had a little more narration. Like how you’re feeling and what you’re thinking. Getting ready for my attempt in August :)

    Congrats on this. Serious question, I was interested in this race but are ticks an issue? I have read WA has issues with ticks.

    • @adrian_powell
      @adrian_powell  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My understanding is that Lyme (the big issue with ticks) is largely an East Coast issue and infection is exceedingly rare in WA state. See www.cdc.gov/lyme/data-research/facts-stats/lyme-disease-case-map.html The WA CDC says that most/all cases of WA residents getting Lyme happens when they travel, not by getting bites within the state. I think you should be good.

    Great video! What is your recording setup?
    1. Camera
    2. Microphone
    3. Gimbal
    4. Tripod

    • @adrian_powell
      @adrian_powell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Steve, I have tried a bunch of different setups but for the 200s I find my energy can get pretty low so I go with a setup that makes video as simple as possible. Maybe not the 'best', but at least I get some shots :) Camera is the GoPro Hero 7, on-board mic, no gimbal (just the on-board image stabalization), and a tiny selfie stick that can transform into a tiny tripod.
