I have taken countless deer with the Muzzy 90grn 4 blade and compound bow. Also taken many deer with Magnus buzzcut 4bld. This year with recurve and longbow, I'm using Magnus Killer Bee 150grn. 2bld heads, which I stropped to a razor edge. I took two deer with single bevel Cutthroat two years ago but Lord knows they are too expensive to use on deer. Saving them for future wild boar.

Shot my first archery bull this year with the ser razor 100gr at 30 yards and a clean double lung pass through. The bull didnt go 20 yards and fell over dead. The only broadhead I'll ever shoot again....devastating damage with 2 broken ribs and blew through so far I never could find my arrow! Beast of a head that flys as true as my field point. I live in Lebanon. I think I remember hearing you say you live over this way. Keep up the great vids. Look forward to shooting with you some day

Nice work, and congrats on the bull! Do you mind if I ask what your arrow setup was? Are you shooting a fairly heavy arrow behind the 100gr head?

I was pleasantly surprised to see a comparison where a head that barely made it through the plywood was selected as the top choice anyway. I enjoy seeing people who like what they like, whether everyone else agrees or not.
So many "tests" want to declare a head to be "the best" because it survives contact with a brick, or gets a pass-through on plywood or whatever. A broadhead has to succeed in several areas to be great. It has to travel accurately, overcome hide and potentially bone, and cause sufficient vascular damage to provide a quick dispatch. And the person shooting it has to have confidence in it. Whether it remains intact after passing through the animal and hitting the engine block of a '68 Buick isn't really relevant if it didn't get the job done.
Thanks for including a good dose of common sense in your video. It's great that you didn't look at the heads that penetrated furthest through an inconsistent medium like plywood and say "Here's your winner!"

I use the black hornet and the blackhornet ser razor. They are amazing. I shot a brute of a buck this last fall, the broadhead stuck in the rear shoulder. I was able to somehow pry it out and the broadhead was in fine shape. Matter of fact, I would trust it to shoot another deer without taking it to the sharpening stone, although, I will sharpen it ;)

Nice review. I'm strongly considering the Black Hornet serazor. The G5 head looks more like a Wac'em.

Andrew Brooks thanks for swinging by. And I believe you are correct. "good eye". That is a Wac'em instead of a Striker but they are very similar, I should have looked at it closer. Anyway, you will like the Black hornet, it is huge (1.25" cut diameter), blades are .059 thick and every edge front and back is razor sharp. And they fly perfect.

Traditional I’m using magnus for my compound I’ll use black hornet on elk or states that don’t allow expandable broad heads the best broad heads I shot are magnus an grim reapers

In penetration tests, 2 blade will almost always beat a 3 blade, and a 3 blade will almost always beat a 4 blade. But, you can't beat the cut and devastation of a 4 blade imo. Especially the black hornet.

Yes indeed. The amount of vascular damage the Black Hornet does is amazing. And I get pass though's all the time. the head always survives to be used again and again. I am super confident with these on my arrows. My many years long broadhead search ended when I got my hands on the Black Hornet. It's the only head I use for hunting for a few years now. I'm no longer interested in evening trying any others. It's the one..
