Phyllis' story still makes me tear-up. I'm so happy for all of them.
But I still find myself praying for her mother. The burden of keeping her secret... Then the upheaval of being exposed in front of her daughter & family; & then she was publicly exposed to everyone she knew & generally the whole world. That has to be the nightmare of huge proportion that she had tried to prevent for over 40 years. 😭 I am praying 🙏🏼 for her to be able to reconcile with her creator & build an honest open relationship with her daughter. ✝️🛐 🙏🏼💞 Praise God 🙌 I know he hears those prayers, & I know that God loves Phyllis' mom.

She's got her Daddy's eyes. It's wonderful how Miss Kay took Phyllis, her husband's daughter, to her heart so that Phyllis also becomes as Miss Kay put it "my daughter." It demonstrates the power of marriage in that the two "become one" and also demonstrates the power of forgiveness 'from the heart". Miss Kay gained a daughter. There is only gain in forgiveness and only loss in unforgiveness. A beautiful story of redemption.

I think they kind of underestimated ONE MAJOR THING when they told her he wasn’t very nurturing.......... HE HAD ALL SONS for the longest time. He grew up in the old ways of being hard on your life boys to make them tough. They never knew how he would be around a daughter. It’s nice to know that he was immediately caring and took the time to sit down one on one with her. Also Miss Kay calling her their daughter is beautiful. She is such a saint of a woman. 👏🏻🥲

This is a wonderful story and I’m so happy for them . This may sound crazy but this hits me really hard because when my Daddy passed away in 2005 my brother stood in front of me and told me that the man that raised me wasn’t my real Dad and I melted I didn’t know what to do or say . He told me that he “ my Daddy “ loved me so much and he didn’t want to hurt me by telling me the truth . I’ve heard rumors about who my biological father is but I don’t think that I even want him to know know about me . Because , I remember as a child seeing him and he wasn’t a very nice person and he was well known for being not a very good man . I still haven’t done anything about it yet and I’m really not sure if I ever will I just don’t know what to do. No matter what the man that I called Daddy all of my life is and always will be my father I love him with all of my heart .

    • @LiPo5000

RC, the "fact" you made this reply is stating you would like to see your real father. It in fact may not be pleasant, and you don't know, he may also want to see you.
Both of you "might" be hesitant or scared to make the first move.
Nothing will change the fact you were raised by another person (father), and I am glad it was a pleasant life for you.
I have a very close "cousin" who had "never" met his biological father. He was 23 at the time when he started thinking about it.
He finally made the decision to find him, "against" his mother's wishes! He told his mother, "Mom", I have got to see him, even if it's this one time in my life.
After "never" seeing his biological father for 23 years, it finally happened. Turns out he lived closer than 30 miles from him.
His meeting with his father was "neutral"! Both were interested, but neither made it a choice to see each other again.
"HOWEVER", in the process, he was able to meet a "brother & sister" he never knew he had! They all look alike, almost to the point of being scary!
He, his brother, and his sister see each other several times a year now, and they don't plan on stopping.
There could be a good side for you.
Personally, I say "Go for IT". Before it comes to the point of never happening.
Just my advice based on seeing a person who was in an almost exact position, and he is now glad he decided to make the first move.

@@LiPo5000 thank you for this comment it means more than you know . I’m not very good at wording things so overlook that please but , I actually asked someone about him the other day and they aren’t for sure if he’s even still alive so at least I went that far with it . I’m kind of scared about it and I also feel like that I’m kind of disrespecting my parents even though they aren’t here anymore . I just can’t seem to shake the feeling that I would be doing something wrong to them ( my parents ) if I actually went through with seeing him . I know that probably doesn’t make any sense but that’s just how I feel . My heart hurts I mean it really hurts because I’m so confused about what to do and I can’t talk to anyone else about it because I don’t want anyone to know . I feel like if they know about it that they will think that my Mom and Dad were bad people but they were “ the best “ and I was so blessed to have them in my life . All that I can do is pray about and whatever happens is God’s will and that’s something I’ve been doing for quite some time now and He lead me this far so I just have to continue on with what He tells me to do . May God bless you always kind Sir and thank you again .

Miss Kay knew. She knew from many years ago. Always thought it would be a man. Miss Kay stated that she forgave Phil back when he was "not so nice". When Phyllis came into the picture, Miss Kay had made the statement that she forgave Phil all those years ago, so there was no reason to forgive him now. She prepared herself for this. The expression "without God"
      What exactly does that mean?
I believe that there is a higher power for which we cannot explain. I dont really see evidence of divine intervention in anything other then nature and its power. I think that how you handle such dysfunction as what is told in this video, is more about being a good human. It's about understanding that we all make poor decisions. It's the spirit of humanity.
I dont know if I am "with God" or "without God"... I just know it feels good being a good human.

To you parents who have adopted a child, never never keep it a secret. Always let that child know that they were adopted because they are special and loved. Like Phil said God finds a way for everyone to get here. But I promise you this if you don’t tell them and they find out, and when they find out you’re going to have a huge train wreck, I promise. Could you see the hurt and anger in Phyllis’s eyes?

This is "very" important for any child.
"the right time" ??? Maybe 13, maybe 15, maybe 18, You make that decision, but definitely let them know before they find out on their own by accident.

Phyllis, your story is such a snap shot of what a lot of families look like in our world today. Thank you for being brave enough to walk through your end, and tell us as well. Many men and women are probably finding comfort through your journey, many women are probably learning through both your mom and Ms. Kay’s actions. Many men are watching Phill and seeing that his “mistakes” lead to a beautiful thing, and his reactions were amazing too.
Your whole story is something that others can take comfort and learn from. You are very brave to include us, and give people the opportunity to comment on it. Thank you again.
