A race-to-8 double elimination bracket will reduce the field to 32 players who will then face single elimination, race to 10, to determine the champion.
This will be the ninth staging of the men’s World 8-Ball Championship. It had previously been played in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates before being revived from a ten-year hiatus in Puerto Rico last year.
Also taking place in Klagenfurt this week: the Predator WPA World 10-Ball Women’s Championship (18-22 October) and the Predator WPA World 10-Ball Junior Championships (19-22 October), which has divisions for Girls, Boys Under-19s and Boys Under-17s.

Not a fan of George's commentary. He misses the mark on a lot on his predictions and it's confusing and distracting. Much rather hear from pro players who know the game really well and could describe the subtleties of the game to the viewer. Other than that nice match. They both need to work on finding a consistent break shot going forward.
Impossible to find a consistent break with these slug racks. Just hit em square and hope for the best

Is this an 8ft table?
An 8 foot table is unusually a cheap table made for the house. Pros will play on 9 foot, but there are some 7 foot tables that are mostly for bars and leagues. They do have a 7 foot table championship though.
I wonder why, I’ve seen about 3-4 matches so far from this tournament and all the refs so far have told the players not to help with balls. I wonder if it’s something they’re trying to avoid any potential foul
