It's entirely within reason that a few individuals flying the GamerGate banner had sent threats, none of which can be excused. However, to dismiss all credibility of the movement based on the actions of a handful who are summarily chastised on official GG communities when they're brought up (r/kotakuinaction for instance) is simply dishonest. I'll be the first to admit GG isn't perfect and can be quick to jump the gun at particular issues, but I still support their principles of ethics in game coverage and protection of consumers from advantageous corporate action. I just feel you could have been more fair, considering it's still an active movement and since you put the violent video games controversy at number one, you'd be just as prompt with a logical retort to the games are racist/sexist/anyist argument, but since that argument has lately spilt over into all media coverage right now, I can understand your apprehension if you chose not to cover it for that reason.
Yeah, I think the problem is that all of my research on GamerGate either took me to pro-GG sites or anti-GG sites and it's virtually impossible to get the complete, unbiased picture. I believe that the cause behind it is just but the drama behind it from both sides is simply too ridiculously to take it seriously, hence why I still think it deserves to be in this video, if not for the reasons I stated in the video. I didn't want to take sides to get my point across but from what I read, it was easier to side against it. I wish it no ill will if it's still active.
I think knowyourmeme will be the closest you can get to an unbiased source on it, it's not perfect but for the most part it covers the perspectives of both sides.
rabbidluigi yeah, I came to this controversy two years late, so I can feel understand the difficulty. One thing I have to say, though, is that the gg side is pretty well documented. You can check the sources with many of the things they say and, maybe not even agree with the claim, but at least get a closer look on your own.

Now to change the subject. "However, to dismiss all credibility of the movement based on the actions of a handful who are similarly chastised on official gg communities... is simply dishonest." Funny thing about that is, that's pretty much what every anti-SJW, and ultra GG support I've seen do to movements like feminism. According to their logic, it doesn't matter that the radicals are the minority, it matters that they're loud, and the people in the same movement that bash the radicals, aren't loud enough, essentially making it your fault. anf claiming the radicals as the true representatives of the movement. The thing about "GamerGate" that men miss is that as a woman gaming the common verbal attacks got more violent and in many cases more real. And for women this is its legacy. It's not that they didn't happen before. They did, but before you could find little safe groups to be in without harassment or threats. It could be a little bubble with out the constant hate you got because you are a woman. With GamerGate the safe places we had carved in for ourselves got attacked. Our gaming groups and our forums got attacked. People found our information just because we said stop sending rape threats to give people our home addresses and shared it so we knew that they can and will come after us. My aunt thinks violent games make kids violent, her son was not allowed to play mortal kombat, he's in prison. I used to play MK and beat manhunt 1 and 2, I have a college degree and no criminal record. I'm sure it's the games and not horrible parenting.
Here's a bonus: the main promoters (the "psychologists") that started the whole video game violence shenangins? They accused anyone that didn't agree with them of being "users of the media." Yep, that's a good sign of excellent research.
I'm not going to lie. When I was a kid, I was fucked up. I had been bullied at school, was constantly trying to avoid hearing my parents fighting downstairs when I was at home, and as a result became depressed, quick to anger, and often imagined going to school and ending my bullies' lives, as well as my own. Of course I never did, and I am FAR less angry today. Want to know why? Video games. Instead of going out and actually hurting anyone, I would play Conker's Bad Fur Day(a friend gave it to me without my parents knowing I had it), Kingdom Hearts, Mortal Kombat, No One Lives Forever, and even Pokemon all helped me in one way or another to channel my emotions and kept me from doing something horrific. Instead of finding a gun or some other weapon, and taking out my tormentors, I knocked out Heartless with the Keyblade. Instead of hurting myself, I caught my first Shiny in Pokemon Silver, and now have him tattooed on my right arm(it was a Vulpix, so I have the Ninetales I evolved him into on my arm). Video games saved me from myself, and they are absolutely the reason no one has heard of the little town I lived in at that time. So I always have to laugh whenever people try to push the "video games lead to more violence" argument. I'm living proof of that being a bold faced lie.
Games have given me better hand eye coordination, let me relax when I feel stressed, let me make more friends, and come plans on how to approach the objective with my friend. (Bastion Reighnheard Mercy combo)

I personally love how the guys at Team Meat responded to PETA's "Super Tofu Boy" game. With the unlockable Tofu Boy!! His meat-free diet has him deprived of nutrients that come from meat, and as such is anemic as fuck, with piss-poor ground speed and even shittier jumping capabilities. But hey, any stage he DOES manage to complete is an automatic A+ rank, regardless of how long it took to accomplish.
Given the amount of flack that Pokemon gets, its kinda weird that fundamentalists never scream so much about Shin Megami, a game where God is literally the sum of all evil, the Devil is sane, and you summon demons with a phone app.
Too obscure, with no real large scale cultural appeal. I'm sure they think it tempts people into demon worship, but most of those people are already in college studying evolution, so they're lost souls already :P
Apologies for the thumbnail, video went up early by accident due to daylight savings last night. Hadn't put a custom thumbnail on it yet. Working on it now.
Number 7 reminds me of this one story I read where PETA bought a whole bunch of lobsters in Maine from the saltwater ocean and released them in the freshwater Mississippi River. The lobsters died shortly afterwards. Thanks, PETA
Could pokemon be a organized attempt in promoting satanism among the children of the world? No, but that be cool as fuck though. lol Ok that go me laughing real good. XD
Controversies in video games is as stupid as it goes. People don't care about origins or reasons, they just want to hate on something due to popularity and ignorance.
For No.1 I always felt like video games make people LESS likely to be violent. If someone pisses me off at school, rather than punching that guy in the face, I can punch Jigglypuff into oblivion!
Had to look up what that catharsis means, but I agree. I "love" how people can talk so seriously about a subject without knowing what they are talking about, and without even doing any research on the topic. They just say "Oh, video games are violent, this person did something violent, and this person played video games. Let's just connect these together and call it good." This is one of the reasons why I just sit in the corner of a room reading a book all the time.
A Person With a Name Oh definitely. A video game could only inspire violence in someone who would be inspired to do violent actions by watching a violent show or movie, pondering the ways to do something violent, or even stubbing their toe and looking at the nearest person for a bit. Inherently, violent games give a medium to relieve stress on. The only thing they could do to increase violence would be if the person tried to recreate an action in a violent game, in which case they would've done the same if they'd seen it or heard about it anywhere else.
I'm wondering how all of these people who thought that Pokemon was a satanist game would react if they knew that Shin Megami Tensei was a thing here in America since at least 2004.
(sorry for this long ass post) A friend and i were talking about the videogame violence issue when he brought something up that ive never thought about before. we talking about how there is always a risk that a psychologically damaged person could play a violent videogame forget which side of the controller was the game and act out their game, and you can't hold that against games because its not their fault that the person playing it is crazy just as its not a horror movie's fault when a moviegoer does something crazy. but what about the reverse? what if you have an incredibly violent person using games as an outlet so they dont act out their violent desires. so instead of the games making the person violent they actually calm the person done because they can still get that murderous release out. It's somehting i never thought about and thought it would be a cool discussion topic here
InsaneRaven That actually has been the case for a handful of people. Violent games act as a stress ball, allowing someone with pent up aggression to use them to release it without actually hurting others.
The Onion featured a fictional game where the gameplay was nothing but just shooting people in the face. Being the Onion, of course this was played for laughs, but I remember thinking, "If that were an actual game, there would be a lot of people using it for therapy." Of course that can never be a game because it'll just garner a lot of controversy.
My niece is currently learning spacial reasoning skills: Aka: She just got Epona in Ocarina of time and is figuring out how to get from kakariko back to the forest ^_^
It's really not Catholics to begin with who rail against this kind of thing, it's Protestant-based evangelical sects that usually start this shit. Catholicism is actually more progressive in a variety of ways; they even accept evolution.
People just like to get angry and be against something to feel powerful. But the sad truth is that, almost always, they just end up making a fool of themselves
Agreed. Though some people and/or groups deserve the hate and anger, but that depends the individual and how they feel about said people and/or groups.
Just wanted to mention something about #1. Earlier this semester, my psychology professor said he looked through a bunch of these video games and violence studies, and he said that while some found a correlation between violent behavior and playing violent video games, not a single one could reasonably prove the causation relationship. This means that it's just as likely, if not more so, that having a violent personality causes you to want to play violent video games instead of the other way around, or that there's a third factor that causes both. Just something I found interesting.
"The first game has a backwards Swastika as a dungeon map, Ocarina of Time has blood everywhere, and Wind Waker had weird graphics." Never change, Will. XD
Funny thing about the adoption story was that when they asked the adopted daughter how she felt, she said she didn't even notice it, and thought the game was funny. Even the little girl had a thicker skin than her dad.
nudity is a natural thing that happens every day and is necessary for the reproduction of the human race, so you'd think people would take more offense to violence
Kyutora Yeah, you're right about that. I would like to see a study done on how people perceive something: in a neutral state of mind, negatively, or positively. Because I mostly see the negative mindset heard the most.
The people who are angry are usually the loudest, and the exception are the people trying to make other people angry. Positive and neutral people are less memorable because they pose no threat to you nor do they make you angry most of the time.
Grave Kenshin There are logical people in religions as well, but again the people you hear about are mostly the angry people or the stupid people because someone wanted to trigger you about it.
Whenever I go into one of your videos, I normally find myself discovering something I didn't know, or learning something. Thanks for that. It's always interesting to discover something new and/or to get inspiration to start something myself.
I was writing a college paper on the subject of video games and player empathy (it has more neutral research, and covers more), and I discovered that most of the "video games cause violence" arguments started and were promoted by two psychologists, one of which was an ohio state professor. I forget their names (took a peek, and one of them was brad bushman, I think) and it has been a while since I read the research, his research was confirmation-bias, and incomplete, AND, what tipped me off that he might not be a great human being, is that he accused anyone who disputed his claims by "being users of the media." Yeah, that's the sign of great research, defending yourself by attacking the other party.
Once something gets popular enough, people WILL find things to complain about. Whether it being somewhat relate-able like having nudity to something absurd like looking to deep into a harmless joke. Calling it now that once Rabbidluigi hits 1,000,000 subs, there will be a controversy stating that he carries the voice of the devil. That sweet, sexy, satanic voice. That transition though.
JohnnyFireFlame it got the honorable mention as he was talking, it's why it showed off the pose blizzard responded with to controversy X3 oh complaining about the butt? Here have more
Yeah I love how they replaced it with an as if not more suggestive pose and they were ok with it If you want to make a stupid controversy at least be coherent
Peta's Tanooki game feels more like an interesting creepypasta. I sometimes play that game at night when I am looking for a really dark and messed up, but easy and quick game to play.
I actually did a speech project on the bullshit of violent video games cause violence for English class. I went really in depth and my teacher was really impressed.
Funny thing is, I've written a couple essays in high school and college about how video games don't cause violence. One thing I found is that it is a lot harder to find genuine articles that say games make people violent rather than those that say the opposite.
It's not funny lol, it means that your essay concludes; there is little or no academic research indicating that video game violence contributes any violence in the real world. This is good news :)
Nothing will ever beat PETA yelling at Games Workshop. XD good thing that happened, made me pull out my old Guardsmen and put them all with Fenrisian Thunderwolves.
Good video. Very well researched. I love the fact that you don't have an alliance with any GG groups and Feminazi groups. You actually seem like a smart person who understands both sides has problems. Keep on making great content rabbidluigi!
This list was great. The fact that people are so easily upset (especially today) makes me feel like vomiting blood. Especially the whole gamergate ( I HATE Anita) and "Pokemon is satanic" thing (And I'm Catholic!) People need to calm down and stop making assumptions. Be nice. Say hi to your neighbor. Compliment a stranger. Drink your school. Stay in milk.
Here's a funny little thing: they seemed to have missed the memo of how (one of the previous ones. I'm not up on my popes.) the POPE said pokemon was, in short, good and had a focus and lesson on friendship
This video is one of the best you have produced, and that is considering your videos are really good. People are stupid, that's what we all should recite in our heads as a mantra, because damn is it true.
Heh, Matpat, the guy who used a strap on a hat to "prove" that Breath of the Wild took place in the Fallen timeline... Mat...dude..... go home.... you're FAAAAAR to fucking drunk to stay here....
Honestly this reminds me of a shirt I saw a customer wearing the other day when I was at work. It said, "I'm not a gynecologist, but I'll take a look". The customer was an older man; married too, from the looks of it, since he was with a woman roughly his age. I was torn between laughter and concern; that's a pretty racy shirt to wear in public.
Surprisingly absent, it seems. He insulted both Anita (and other people like her) and Gamergate, so he's not on either strict side. That's probably enough to keep most people happy, so to speak.
Sines314 What are you talking about? I came to this comment section to argue against those damn cyber demons that are threatening American children X'D
Yea I'm glad he put a neutral stance, calling out the bs on both sides. SJWs can be annoying yes but going too far into the anti-sjw side doesn't make you any wiser either, if anything you go in the parallel direction of the very people you criticize
Agreed while I'm no fan of the real-life equivalent to the Labelli Girls(fans of the anime/manga Ouran Host High School Club will get the reference) and I don't side with other side either cause either way you make yourself look bad.
To shed a bit of light in the part about Portal 2, the father wasn't nowhere near as offended as you'd think. He even says in the uncut interview that he understands the characters doing the jabbing are villains, and that in the context there was absolutely no ill intent from the developers, it was just that his daughter was caught off guard by the line and didn't know what to make of it until he sat down and talked with her. It was the WBTV people who cut the interview in a way that makes the dad sound way less reasonable about it, followed by the achors going "HOW HORRIBLE THIS VIDEOGAME HATES ORPHANS, I BET THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT EAT PUPPIES TOO" or something to that effect. The whole thing was blown way out of proportion and the dad doesn't deserve the hate for it.
The "unhappy boyfriend" wasn't the guy who promoted Zoe Quinn in unrelated articles to Depression Quest (Nathan Grayson), the unhappy boyfriend was Eron Gjonni, who Quinn abused emotionally, and cheated on with five people, including Grayson. I was fine up to THAT piece of misinformation.
Remember Dr. Robotnik from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog tv show? Imagine the feedback if it was released today and people were just as offended by male sexualization as female sexualization
About the whole violence issue, I think that a bit of virtual violence is necessary to psychologically immune the mind. You don't want the first violent thing you see in your life to be a real man dying.
Its kinda sad. I remember when I took psychology in school, and the instructor was literally conditioning all the students to believe that video games cause violence because "Bandura did an experiment about watching people punch dolls."
12:50 The adopted thing I can totally understand though. The thing is news stations often just make things up, so that might not even be real, but tbh i could understand someone being upset and there's no warnings for stuff like that, which is the truly offensive stuff, not tobacco references or cartoon violence.
Listen, I’m a Christian, and while I’ve never been an extremist Christian I’d like to apologize for all the stupid crap they believe with Pokémon. Pokémon is personally my favorite video game franchise of all time and I have no idea what they’re talking about XD
Because the people who sent death threats were the absolute majority of people in GamerGate and us GamerGaters fully supported the people who sent death and rape threats! /s
BlitzNexus It was more so that nobody did anything about the threats and people like Sarkeesian were made into meme fodder because everyone believed she was overreacting, or worse, that she deserved it. As people say, being neutral is just as bad as being the oppressor
I can guarantee you, ask anyone with some sort of large public following that has ever said anything slightly controversial and they will tell you that they have had death threats. Sarkeesian, Brianna Wu, Zoe Quinn, they aren't special in this way. The people that thought she deserved it were the ones sending the threats, most of the major players and youtubers in GamerGate condemned the threats.
Nobody did anything? Did you... even watch the actual GamerGate reaction to the threats? Not only did not a single person support them, they denounced them.
In general, it seems to me that playing violent video games actually makes people LESS violent. Kind of like it gets your aggression out there and not elsewhere.
@@Kashii958 being in a relationship with someone who has influence on your work is a serious conflict of interest. It's the same reason why teachers can't have sex with their students... Same reason police officers and other people of authority can't have sex with 16-17 year Olds even though in 85% of the states the legal age of consent is under 18. How do you not see a huge problem with that?
I have done a ton of research on Video Games, even did a 10 page paper back in High School on the history and effects of video games. What I found was interesting. One experiment tested intelligence in 3rd graders, and found that those who played video games got massive boost in math, a good boost in science, English and social studies barely changed, but test scores rose rapidly. The other was studying families before and after video games were introduced. That one found that if the family was stable, video games did nothing to shake that foundation. However, if there were cracks in that foundation, video games made them wider, with families looking at divorce basically being guarantee that the family was going to be divorced. Makes you think.
For a class, we actually had to play "Depression Quest" and write a bit about it. Was nervous about playing it because of GamerGate and how people still bring the controversy up, but I don't think it's half that bad. At least it promotes awareness of depression.
As a kid I played a lot of violent games such as shooting games and action games such as Tekken and mortal combat. Im aliving proof that violent video games dont make you "VIOLENT".
Honestly, when it comes to video games, sexuality and violence, I always have one huge rule: about it fitting in the world or story. While I’m not the hugest fan of blood and gore, or sexuality being represented poorly, that’s just me. :/ I mostly only care when things don’t fit the story, or it’s represented poorly (cough cough Final Fantasy cough cough)

It's also a symbol of peace in Japan, which the Nazis just liked and stole. Just like how Hitler ruined those tiny mustaches. Boy I wish I could wear one of those.
+garcon45 Thank you for saying this.
I like this man
Not Hitler Just in case anyone thought of that
And Wind Waker is a beautiful video game.
Mario is wearing faux fur because he gets the power up from a leaf that means his suit is made from Synthetic fabrics.
What was the fabric made from ;)
Squishy Tofu.
WHAT IF THE LEAF WAS AN ANIMAL?
O noe the poor planps
@@Drew_64 peashooter from pvz duh
I personally love how the guys at Team Meat responded to PETA's "Super Tofu Boy" game.
With the unlockable Tofu Boy!! His meat-free diet has him deprived of nutrients that come from meat, and as such is anemic as fuck, with piss-poor ground speed and even shittier jumping capabilities. But hey, any stage he DOES manage to complete is an automatic A+ rank, regardless of how long it took to accomplish.
PETA might need to go to the hospital. that was a nasty burn
Probably because they never heard of it
There was one hindu priest or something that complained about the way the game uses Hindu gods.
Shin Megami probably isn't as popular in the west, and Asian countries seem pretty chill on these things. They're a step ahead of us really.
Hence the reason why I when I play a main-series SMT game I 100% go the neutral route and side with humanity.
Apologies for the thumbnail, video went up early by accident due to daylight savings last night. Hadn't put a custom thumbnail on it yet. Working on it now.
rabbidluigi Don't change it. We need to learn from history, not shy away from it.
SupremeMarioGamer actually, rabbid could get in trouble for that thumbnail.
Wait, wrong thumbnail 😅
MrA MrH ???
MrA MrH I was saying this because I thought the current thumbnail was what he was talking about. I'm not that quick, sorry 😔
XD
We're back to talking about butts in video games again! Full circle
It's the one thing we all share. Black, White, Asian, Muslim, Male, Female, Christian. We all share a love of butts. PRAISE DA BUTTS
Newoliam i want some of that foxy ass
You mean two full circles?
Controversies in video games is as stupid as it goes. People don't care about origins or reasons, they just want to hate on something due to popularity and ignorance.
*are
That audio clip from the Pokémon pretty much just summed up the basic plot to any SMT game ever made
For No.1 I always felt like video games make people LESS likely to be violent. If someone pisses me off at school, rather than punching that guy in the face, I can punch Jigglypuff into oblivion!
Games provide catharsis.
I think there's a mod for that.
What's that. You want these people to do research. Don't make me laugh. Their too busy finding everything offensive to do any research.
they would probably find the idea offensive and call you out for it
People who research offend me
Homestarfan13 Sadly enough they won't do that shit cause they want money by making video games look bad
Your bad grammar offends me.
Homestarfan13 some even went to look for dicks in pokemon games
It offends me how people get offended so easily
I'm offended that this needs to be said
I'm wondering how all of these people who thought that Pokemon was a satanist game would react if they knew that Shin Megami Tensei was a thing here in America since at least 2004.
Evillord they'd fucking implode
(sorry for this long ass post)
A friend and i were talking about the videogame violence issue when he brought something up that ive never thought about before. we talking about how there is always a risk that a psychologically damaged person could play a violent videogame forget which side of the controller was the game and act out their game, and you can't hold that against games because its not their fault that the person playing it is crazy just as its not a horror movie's fault when a moviegoer does something crazy. but what about the reverse? what if you have an incredibly violent person using games as an outlet so they dont act out their violent desires. so instead of the games making the person violent they actually calm the person done because they can still get that murderous release out. It's somehting i never thought about and thought it would be a cool discussion topic here
InsaneRaven That actually has been the case for a handful of people. Violent games act as a stress ball, allowing someone with pent up aggression to use them to release it without actually hurting others.
getting angry. i want to hit something. TAKE THAT, VIRTUAL PERSON!
Robert Blanchard I play video games to let out stress so I don’t hurt people. Take that Ganon!
its possible, but someone that wants to kill people probably wouldn't be interested in video games so much as with killing people or sex
My niece is currently learning spacial reasoning skills:
Aka: She just got Epona in Ocarina of time and is figuring out how to get from kakariko back to the forest ^_^
DYK. the pope Francis say Pokémon is ok. I'm not joking there are at least 20 other things about this guy that make me love him.
It's really not Catholics to begin with who rail against this kind of thing, it's Protestant-based evangelical sects that usually start this shit. Catholicism is actually more progressive in a variety of ways; they even accept evolution.
Gotta love that pope guy even if your Atheist :D
Filip Šleis, I really hope we have another Pope like him...
People just like to get angry and be against something to feel powerful. But the sad truth is that, almost always, they just end up making a fool of themselves
Humanity in a nutshell.
If there were individual comments I could save, this would be on the top of the list. 100% agree with ya.
Sacha Scharovsky Digital homicide
"The first game has a backwards Swastika as a dungeon map, Ocarina of Time has blood everywhere, and Wind Waker had weird graphics."
Never change, Will. XD
Oh boy, gamergate mention.
This comment section is gonna be fun.
Funny thing about the adoption story was that when they asked the adopted daughter how she felt, she said she didn't even notice it, and thought the game was funny. Even the little girl had a thicker skin than her dad.
if a video game can make you kill someone you'd eventually kill someone anyway.
"Who's out of touch with reality again?" That line was brilliant!
nudity is a natural thing that happens every day and is necessary for the reproduction of the human race, so you'd think people would take more offense to violence
6:33 that's actually a manji. Found in Buddhism.
Put the manji backwards then yeah you got yourself a swastika.
But people would had to do research to know that, therefore this point is invalid.
They also have common sense most of the time and do not need a shepard unless your Christian or the other equivalents to him in different religions.
I like how you don't just make a sweeping statement about how something is bullshit, you actually back it up with solid reasoning
Interesting thumbnail. A bit too dark for the subject matter.
I'm not sorry.
King Weedede Sorry not sorry.
What was it?
Dead Meme There wasn't an actual thumbnail so it took a screenshot of 10:05.
I wish I didn't get your pun....not really
King Weedede What's a thumbnail?
I was writing a college paper on the subject of video games and player empathy (it has more neutral research, and covers more), and I discovered that most of the "video games cause violence" arguments started and were promoted by two psychologists, one of which was an ohio state professor.
I forget their names (took a peek, and one of them was brad bushman, I think) and it has been a while since I read the research, his research was confirmation-bias, and incomplete, AND, what tipped me off that he might not be a great human being, is that he accused anyone who disputed his claims by "being users of the media."
Yeah, that's the sign of great research, defending yourself by attacking the other party.
The funny part is Pokemon uses a form of evolution that was first proposed by The Christian church. It is called ladder evolution.
His voice is tempting...BURN THE HERETIC!! (jk)
I realize that it's wasn't that big, but I think one of the stupidest "controversies" in games, was Tracer's ass from Overwatch.
Seriously.....
JohnnyFireFlame it got the honorable mention as he was talking, it's why it showed off the pose blizzard responded with to controversy X3 oh complaining about the butt? Here have more
"girls are not allowed to be sexy. they always have to be strong and brash". now look who is being oppressive...
Sara Bazzone well they got lesbian tracer fun so that must be why I missed that stupid crowd freakout part
Shoot people down in glorious, bloody ways, but ARCEUS FORBID the closest sign of nudity in video games
Yeah I love how they replaced it with an as if not more suggestive pose and they were ok with it
If you want to make a stupid controversy at least be coherent

Media's ideas: video games cause violence
Gamers: Plays farming simulator

"It's like Custer's Revenge but with Full Motion Video" is the greatest description I've heard in ages.
Who's out of touch with reality? Jack Thompson
"Video games are the cause of all the bad in society!"
Me: You do realize that Video Games weren't a thing until the 1980's, right?
Peta's Tanooki game feels more like an interesting creepypasta. I sometimes play that game at night when I am looking for a really dark and messed up, but easy and quick game to play.
A Rabbid top ten? have I died and gone to heaven?
Cooltrainer Jake No. You just stumbled into an oasis from Top 5 lists.
No, it's just the end of the month.
Nah. You fell asleep and woke up at the end of the month.
Or have you gone to heaven and died?
I actually did a speech project on the bullshit of violent video games cause violence for English class. I went really in depth and my teacher was really impressed.
Funny thing is, I've written a couple essays in high school and college about how video games don't cause violence.
One thing I found is that it is a lot harder to find genuine articles that say games make people violent rather than those that say the opposite.
It's not funny lol, it means that your essay concludes; there is little or no academic research indicating that video game violence contributes any violence in the real world.
This is good news :)
Took me way too long to realize you were speaking about PETA, I I was like, "Who the heck is Peter?" Baha. Duh, me.
The funny part is that Brianna Wu sent death threats to herself and was called out on it.
The irony is that evolution in Pokemon isn't even really evolution. It's metamorphosis.
"Drink your school. Stay in Milk."?
Just wanna note that error.

I like how people say adult rated games should be banned because they are dangerous to kids... when they are ADULT RATED FOR A REASON.
It might be edgy, but that's extremely funny.
ClefairyRox It's funny because of the sheer audacity.
ClefairyRox I want 10 of those
My god
We finally got another 20 minute video
But you raise some really good points, I want to show the last one to others
Who's here to see the wars in the comments
Surprisingly absent, it seems. He insulted both Anita (and other people like her) and Gamergate, so he's not on either strict side. That's probably enough to keep most people happy, so to speak.
Sines314 What are you talking about? I came to this comment section to argue against those damn cyber demons that are threatening American children X'D
Yea I'm glad he put a neutral stance, calling out the bs on both sides.
SJWs can be annoying yes
but going too far into the anti-sjw side doesn't make you any wiser either, if anything you go in the parallel direction of the very people you criticize
Agreed while I'm no fan of the real-life equivalent to the Labelli Girls(fans of the anime/manga Ouran Host High School Club will get the reference) and I don't side with other side either cause either way you make yourself look bad.
I am!
I was fine up to THAT piece of misinformation.
oh yeah, and the "Death to Brianna" twitter account is highly suspected to be entirely fabricated, possibly being Brianna Wu herself.
you missed a golden opportunity to talk about the controversy over tracer's butt.
Remember Dr. Robotnik from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog tv show? Imagine the feedback if it was released today and people were just as offended by male sexualization as female sexualization
You saw the part where he showed a clip of Tracer posing, didn't you? That part before the countdown is basically a "runner-up segment" for the clips.
the controversy over her butt should have been atleast number 2. it's so hilariously stupid and blizzard responded in the most perfect way possible.
well we still saw her butt pose, showing that yea it is acknowledged, but it just isn't that major to warrant a spot on the list,
Garry Courtney people literally flipped out over a pose. blizzard responded by changing it to something even more focused on her butt
"no one makes a game like this as a prank" yeah they pretend to kill someone's best friend instead
About the whole violence issue, I think that a bit of virtual violence is necessary to psychologically immune the mind. You don't want the first violent thing you see in your life to be a real man dying.
This should be fun.
Its kinda sad. I remember when I took psychology in school, and the instructor was literally conditioning all the students to believe that video games cause violence because "Bandura did an experiment about watching people punch dolls."
The Gentleman Rabbid is, he decided to forgo an ass in the thumbnail for a damn good shot of one in the video
I think you did a great job with how carefully you wrote this. Clearly, you did your research.
Not only did not a single person support them, they denounced them.
actually they found one user in brazil and reported him to the authorities if i remember correctly.
Peasham Oh! That's good! There's a huge hate flack towards the victims of the controversy I didn't know about this. Thanks for correcting me
In general, it seems to me that playing violent video games actually makes people LESS violent. Kind of like it gets your aggression out there and not elsewhere.
Uh oh Rabbid, you insulted gamergate, you're gonna get doxed
killing FAKE people will make me a killer but playing surgeon simulator doesn't make me a surgeon
If GamerGate is that bad, why FBI's investigation only saw criminal activities on 60 accounts of 10000 pro-GG?
Video games make you violent? If you're violent then your parents may have messed up from the start.
I love going on killing sprees in games. I cry when I accidentally kill a bug. Totally violent person am I.
Man, if I had a dollar for every "study" that linked simulated or fictional violence to actual REAL violence, I'd be filthy rich.
For a class, we actually had to play "Depression Quest" and write a bit about it. Was nervous about playing it because of GamerGate and how people still bring the controversy up, but I don't think it's half that bad. At least it promotes awareness of depression.
"can't we all just be friends"
trust me
we tried...
I shit my pants at #6 when that picture popped up lol
I HATE the Tanooki controversy. It's so dumb! How about it's a costume, not actual fur?! Ever heard of a costume, PETA? Mario picks up a fucking leaf.
telling PETA to stop overreacting is like telling campfire smoke to stop going in your face. it will NOT happen
As a kid I played a lot of violent games such as shooting games and action games such as Tekken and mortal combat. Im aliving proof that violent video games dont make you "VIOLENT".
And the sad thing is,this video is extremely controversial if you look at it from the view of the people you're talking about haha
What's the name of the game with the girl turning into a mermaid or something at about 10:42? I feel like I've played it but can't remember the name.
The reason News channels don't talk about positive video game effects is very simple actually; more shocking stories= more revenue and more MONEY!!!
