i took down 665 as it gave me the heeby jeeby's. if you look back to the first video (i cant remember which) i put the organ hymn board in you'll see the full list. Organ Playlist is here, (warning, if you haven't seen it yet, its quite the journey haha) :- th-cam.com/play/PLluPQLh1xzlI7EMB5qIxDd_1OLE-Z_kyC.html
Oh yes! I would love to see Sam arrange Koyaanisqatsi for this organ. The Grid in particular would be a good piece for it if the organ valves can keep up with the fast pace (it's originally composed for electric organs). I think I heard something sounding like 1998 by Binary Finary at the end.
Not just for show (which is definitely nice), but they serve a practical diagnostic role as well. It quickly shows if the control voltage is reaching the valve for a given pipe. And that lets you figure out if the problem is with the note signal or the valve. And it was suggested in the comments before implementation - however it's probably something that would have been done anyways given that it looks as cool as it is useful. It's part of collaboration making this musical venture more awesome.
I think Joan and Bach would be dancing together in the streets if they could hear what you can do with an organ nowadays, you've done that instrument justice for sure.
Utterly entrancing. Definitely has the moving relentlessness of Philip Glass' work for the Qatsi films, as other have mentioned. Genuinely love this. I could listen for hours.
I can only imagine that Joan is smiling down upon you Sam, sending her blessings and gracious approval for what has become an unbelievable reimagining of her own life’s passion.
The great organ at Notre Dame, Paris, has been playable via MIDI for the last 25 years or so. I've often thought it would be fun to be able to play it over the internet! :D
Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack, specfically Vessels, by Phillip Glass, is what it reminds me of. Which is what Hans was riffing on for Interstellar for sure... anyway, brilliant organ work on your end, as always. Thanks for sharing what you do! EDIT: or maybe Prophecies, off the same soundtrack. Or The Grid. Kind of a mashup of all the best film arps.
Once you have the microphones set up, you'll also get to experiment with reverb and delay. Most pipe organs depend on that to get their signature sound, so it will be interesting to see how this all turns out. It's definitely been a fun project to watch!
We tried to record the electronic organ in our church (which has some *serious* speakers). It sounded like absolute $h1t. Ended up recording the hall acoustics with a microphone instead of the direct output...
Had to connect this to my stereo set (which was sold to me by an enthusiastic audio engineer who had designed the whole system and demonstrated the perfectly straight response curve with - yes, organ music). Awesome!
I cannot describe how much I love this 😊 I used to skive off school in the 70’s to go and sit in the choir stalls where I sang as a chorister ( Hereford ) when I knew they were tuning the organ , they would hold the bass notes for sometimes two minutes 🤗 then my uncle brought his new synth round , a prophet 5 🤗🤩 and here we are :-) Thank you 🙏
That bit @6:00 made me want to put on headphones, recline, close my eyes, and just let the music take me on the journey. Well done, hope to see some tracks come from this!
I am unable to properly express how much this creation moves me.. From the months of getting the organ, assembling it, and making it play as well as it does now, to the song evoking the many collaborations of Philip Glass and Godfrey Reggio, I am at a loss for words. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!
it is a bit thirsty for air when you get a few pipes going. but it's part of the "feel" of the instrument. Gives it character. Good work so far on this organ. Been monitoring for a while, and it's definitely coming along.
Congratulations again, Sam. Saving that organ was a beautiful thing to do. It deserved a second life and I'm sure in your hands it will produce more nice music in the future :)
I was almost crying. My passion for organs beginned 3/4 years ago (now I can remember hahah) but this project is what made me absolutely love ogans and now I want one too! Thank you Sam for sharing your adventure with us!!
Definitely got some interstellar vibes from this, especially the long sustained note sections, definitely some goose bumps from this, I would buy an album of this, awesome job on this. can’t wait for the next vid
So excited for you. This is what it’s all about.. So grateful to be here this whole time and be able to witness this moment . Liftin us all up bruv. We can make magic🤙. Much love big bruv
Sam, it has been such a pleasure watching along this journey. In the start when you were ripping it out of the old house I would have never imagined it would be like this. It is so wonderful to see you getting to enjoy it after all the hard work.
. A while back I mentioned how much I love your organ videos, assembly, updating, electonics and all. So after a while away I come back and you have a little concert for us. . That is excellent!! . Straight up!!
This is all I've ever wanted to do with Modular Synth, just jam with arps. Great stuff! Thanks for taking us on crazy journeys and making and inspiring others to make art 😁😁
Considering the vast amount of work and commitment behind this project and the inspiring beauty of what is played, I shed a tear man. For real. Bravo, from France.
This episode's hymn board is very satisfying in a way I'm having difficulty explaining. It might have been like this for a while, but I'm just noticing it now.
This was so dang good! It’s been such a entertaining journey. Always looking forward to the next update on this project. Congratulations on everything you’ve accomplished so far!
I never comment on youtube videos but s/o to you mate. Your channel is a straight up gold mine for nerds who have a passion for both electronics and music.
You are turning into the Fred Dibnah of electronic music and I mean that with the utmost respect for what he advocated for. Also the overalls. I realise now ive sobered up a bit its also the overalls.
I was listening to Steve Reich, and this was the first suggested vid. good job letting me know Sam uploaded, algorithm, though it's spooky you knew to suggest this specific vid...

I liked it. Like the number of the beast's cousin, Dave. Less of a fallen angel, more a collapsed cherub. Nice bloke.
The neighbor of the beast
It has been a crazy journey. Thanks for taking us along.
Steve Reich would have loved this!
I'm starting to think this guy knows what he's doing.
The execution of this idea is nothing short of spectacular. You've managed to merge centuries of technology and musicianship. Bravo!
Exactly, well put, I agree.
Indeed yes, truly marvellous
sounds like something from Tron 2
It remind me the Brian Eno compositions, but it is innovative just for the join of electronic And an analogic pipe organ
And cram it all into one small room
This sounds straight out of glass works by Philip Glass in the absolute best of ways. Awesome stuff.
spot on! Same vibe as Koyaanisqatsi. A choir of furbies would be great on top of the organ arpeggios :)
Oh yes! I would love to see Sam arrange Koyaanisqatsi for this organ. The Grid in particular would be a good piece for it if the organ valves can keep up with the fast pace (it's originally composed for electric organs).
I think I heard something sounding like 1998 by Binary Finary at the end.
Hah! I just commented something similar, then saw your comment. I want to hear Mishima played on this organ.
I thought the same! I got that Philip Glass vibe as well.
Yes! My thoughts exactly!!
The LEDs per pipe were a stroke of genius, it really wouldn't be the same experience without seeing which ones are playing!

I’d definitely buy an album of this! Please proceed.
Go listen to Koyaanisqatsi
Or Anna von Hausswolff's latest album.
@@DirtyRobot exactly what i thought
check out maxime denuc - nachthorn
plz proceed. (no rush...) ... DO IT NOW!
Glass-esque. Love it!!
@DontReadMyProfilePicture.57 take this garbage elsewhere
I think Joan and Bach would be dancing together in the streets if they could hear what you can do with an organ nowadays, you've done that instrument justice for sure.
YES!! 🥳
Utterly entrancing. Definitely has the moving relentlessness of Philip Glass' work for the Qatsi films, as other have mentioned. Genuinely love this. I could listen for hours.
As an organ builder, i love what you've done. It is inspiring. I look forward to coming and seeing and hearing it in the future. 🤙🤙
You may not have seen interstellar, but considering this gave me goosebumps like the real thing, I’d say you nailed it!
@DontReadMyProfilePicture.57 Your pic is too small for me to read.
Yes this was quite the trip.
Now when you mention it... The docking sequence.
Or a Philip Glass musical performance
This plus the Megadrone would be like instant Hans Zimmer. I definitely need to hear both of those wired into a modular synth.
OK Phillip Glass!! 😅😉😊 This is wonderful!! ❤

totally... i could see time lapse life vividly in my minds eye throughout this.
I'm a big fan of koyaanisqatsi. Brilliant music. Also check out, Brian eno sinking ships, tangerine dream, boards of Canada, max cooper. Rüfüs du sol
Would be great as soundtrack for a movie, these arpeggiated church organ sounds are beautiful, haunting, nostalgic and modern at the same time.
Reminds me of some of Phillip Glasses organ works
Would be wonderful to hear more on this marvelous instrument

Yup, church is half the instrument.
Oh yes please, do this!! Definitely!

Put this in yer (organ) pipe and smoke it nay-sayers! Its in tune and it works a treat. Brilliant, thanks Sam.
this is a spectacle. thanks for the [sonic] data transfer and everlasting inspiration, please c0ntinue at ones own speed!!!1
Had to connect this to my stereo set (which was sold to me by an enthusiastic audio engineer who had designed the whole system and demonstrated the perfectly straight response curve with - yes, organ music). Awesome!
Absolutely nailed it Sam. I'm just sitting here, chilled out, in a happy place, listening to this for the third time. So beautiful. Thanks.

Quite a bit like Glass at a few points there. Organ polyrhythms rule.
That bit @6:00 made me want to put on headphones, recline, close my eyes, and just let the music take me on the journey. Well done, hope to see some tracks come from this!
These are my favorite videos. When you are just jamming out on the organ. I could listen for hours.
It's like spelling "Koyaanisqatsi" while wearing an netrunner suit. Goosebumps!
Love that you put all the common meme numbers in the background, but all off by one
I am unable to properly express how much this creation moves me.. From the months of getting the organ, assembling it, and making it play as well as it does now, to the song evoking the many collaborations of Philip Glass and Godfrey Reggio, I am at a loss for words. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!
Massive Koyaanisqatsi/Philip Glass vibes which can only be a good thing
Probably the coolest use of a Keystep in a video. This kind of sequenced pipe organ would have been a wet dream for me prior to learning synthesis.
This got the hairs on the back of my neck jiggling - Absolutely stunning...
Must sound/feel amazing in that room. Been an interesting project to watch come together and that improvisation at the end was a vibe.
it is a bit thirsty for air when you get a few pipes going.
but it's part of the "feel" of the instrument.
Gives it character.
Good work so far on this organ. Been monitoring for a while, and it's definitely coming along.
Naaaah he needs a set of 64' contra bombarde
Thank you for going to all this effort. It means a lot to me to see this contraption being taken care of and put to good use.
I remember at the age of 15 hearing Vangelis and now at 55 there is another maestro! Bravo!
Congratulations again, Sam. Saving that organ was a beautiful thing to do. It deserved a second life and I'm sure in your hands it will produce more nice music in the future :)
Phillip Glass vibes! Great video, Sam

This is F’ing amazing! I love the sound, you have a whole albums worth right now! Fantastic my friend, truly!
Make it 4 hours longer and it could be the soundtrack for Interstellar. 😂😂
You must be the first person in World-History with a midi-Church-Organ!
respect
I cannot wait to hear the masterpieces you will create with this ancient instrument attached to this high tech and with you at the helm.
The breathing noise from half to end complements the whole thing.
It’s like a living being!
Amazing stuff!

My wife play on a midified street organ (midi player + controler input) , i tried a keystep on ; sound is so warm on these old shit's
Sam you're an inspiration! So glad to see such a beautiful instrument get a new life, and what a unique and interesting one!

Just amazing. Every video you do with Joan's Organ just makes me so happy you saved her from the landfill!
It's so great to see this come together like this after so long. You did it, man! It sounds incredible!!
Really is awesome. The naysayers are shamed back into seclusion. "It'll take years!" Cheers LMNC aka Sam
Please Please Please make more arpeggio stuff! I'll buy albums of your takes on it! This was siiiiiiiiiick!
Fantastic, glass and Reich rolled into one electroacoustic wizard!
This is all I've ever wanted to do with Modular Synth, just jam with arps. Great stuff! Thanks for taking us on crazy journeys and making and inspiring others to make art 😁😁
It's one thing to put out music, it's completely different when you understand it in a way that no one else does.
Listened to it so many times now, superlative. In fact, that stuck note if just made to fade out slowly would make a fine end as it is.
Almost fell asleep in a trance until it ended and I woke uk. More please 🙏
I really enjoyed this dreamlike mix of Tim Blake and Philip Glass❤
Considering the vast amount of work and commitment behind this project and the inspiring beauty of what is played, I shed a tear man. For real. Bravo, from France.
Absolutely stunning work here sam, can't wait to hear more of what you (and others) will write on the organ
Fantastic work as always Sam, I'm sure Joan would be smiling to hear her old organ in such fine fettle.
The hours and hours of work you put in this project culminate in this masterpiece of art. And It's worth it. Just wonderful!!! Thank you Sam
This episode's hymn board is very satisfying in a way I'm having difficulty explaining. It might have been like this for a while, but I'm just noticing it now.
Spectacular! Was getting some real Philip Glass vibes listening to this. Love it!
One Love!
Always forward, never ever backward!!

Take this organ on a world tour. Honestly, this and Wintergatan marble machine are my two the most fav things 🤩
What an amazing achievement ,some of the best sounding organ music i have heard ,well done .
Gave me serious Interstellar vibes. That organ sounds amazing. Well done!!
Left me in tears. So beautiful.

This is good for real, this is on another level. Dito everything everyone has said about Philip Glass. I lack words.
I love you ❤
Congratulations on founding cybersteampunkcore! This is amazing.
This thing is so amazing and fantastic, it belongs in a museum. Oh, wait...
I bet when they built this organ it would ever have a synth hooked up to it. Well done Sam your a genius.....
You seem to missing words
Been watching your channel for years. This is my favorite so far. Bravo good sir. Bravo
What a journey!!! Thanks so much for being so incredible and for sharing it with us
I love this so much.
i appreciate you uploading these organ videos so much, you are making history!

Also the overalls. I realise now ive sobered up a bit its also the overalls.
Astonishing connection of new and old technology.Great work Sam!
It would be amazing if you can get Anna Lapwood to play on the organ when it’s all tuned and finished
This .... this should happen!
or Anna Von Hausswolff
Apparently he's reached out to her
Doug Woods from TheSoundTestRoom would fit right in.
Why that? He is a real artist. He is the master of this organ. To bulid it and to play it is a performance not only playing an Instrument.
I was listening to Steve Reich, and this was the first suggested vid. good job letting me know Sam uploaded, algorithm, though it's spooky you knew to suggest this specific vid...
Mate every time I see a Joans organ video pop up it makes my day.
Can’t wait to hear more tunes coming out of it in the future.
Love your work 👍🏻
Wow man, that organ couldn't have found a better shepherd! Props for giving it that much love and hard work. Sounds amazing already!
Really sounding good, Sam. Been watching this thing evolve for EONS!
Geez man, this piece is really just beautiful. As I listened more, it’s not a gimmick, it’s really just great music. Love the end. Very punk rock.
Definitely a Qatsi vibe going on.
You should edit it together with sped up video of yourself working around your museum!
What a long way this channel has come 😮 Great work man, thanks for sharing with us! 🙌✨
Love this. The layering reminds me of Moby's God moving over the face of the waters.
I reckon Joan would have loved this! Great idea, mentioned in last video to mic up the room properly. cant wait to hear more of this!
Those imperfections make it feel more alive, love it :D
the little clicky clacky of the valves as things play is just
Sam, a prodigious talent and a joy to watch/listen. Thank you.
haha just noticed your n-1 hymn board. nice
OMG I've been staring at those from months wondering why they seem to be some kind of encoded joke I just can't figure out! THANK YOU!
Sounds like Philip Glass. If you haven't seen Koyaanisqatsi, I definitely suggest giving it a watch!
Bro takes analogue synthesis to the extreme literal
Oh that sounds amazing. Woah
