- Hey guys, today in this video you can see that we are exploring the French Batterie Waldam, or at least the first part of it. The bunkers you will see in this video are quite rare and the Drehturm is an awesome piece of engineering. Thanks for watching guys 👍👍
Another great video
I’m always amazed how well the Germans engineered these bunkers
Nice work, guys. Informative and nicely shot and edited. Keep it up :)
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed 👍
Excellent as always. Liked those gas-proof seals and that massive rotating chunk of building! Thanks :)
No problem mate, glad you found the video interesting, thanks for watching 👍
Nicely done!
Thanks!
Awesome stuff guys, went around here, bloody brilliant.
Thanks mate, hope you had a good time and thanks for watching 👍
By the state of the walls, it looks like the Canadians used every round of ammo they had. It must have been a tough fight.
Yes it certainly looks like it was, with all the damage to the structures. Incredible how they still remain standing to this day! Thanks for watching :)
Great video here guys plenty of bunkers there to explore
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Great video
Awesome job Gentleman! Very much enjoyed your commentary along with the very impressive camera work. Good on ya! Peace.
Thanks so much for the support! We tried to do a fair bit of research on these France locations before we went out to film them, and hoped that would make our commentary a little more engaging/interesting. Thanks for watching!
@@xplorer9713 Job well done > Viewer for life. Peace.
Incredible finds never seen a bunker like that before keep it up
Cheers Stephen, glad you enjoyed the video mate 👍
Nicely shot!

Have to say, you and your mates know how to film 'beauty shots'
Very well done :)
Cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍
Thank , you !!!
No problem mate 👍
great video lads keep up the good work
Cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍
The gun was from the battleship 'provance' a fench ship which was sunk by the british because the french would not leave harbour and surrender. So churchill sunk it. Excellent info lads . Keep up the good work. 😊
Interesting, I didn't realize the gun was taken from a ship. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍

Cheers 👍
That made for an interesting read thank you
@@xplorer9713 glad that it was of interest to you 😊
Good stuff guys, all the best in France
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed 👍
Nice explore. I suggest you invest in some safety glasses when exploring around all that busted re-bar. Too close to eye level, made me nervous. Keep em coming guys you're doing awesome.
I think that before we invest in those, we should probably get ourselves boiler suits or just some exploring clothes, as we often dirty our normal clothes up a fair bit, but a fair point nonetheless. Thanks for watching 👍
@@xplorer9713 Theyre cheep (4 dollars US). And having clean clothes when done is a good idea too. Be safe guys.
Another good one young men. Videos or getting better all the time
Thanks mate, we really appreciate the support. Hope you continue to enjoy the vids 😁
What was used to turn that around ? It is very interesting to me as I had uncle that fought in WWII . He was in the battle of the bulge . That much I do know as he had told about it but not much other than that . Thank you for a great video and a history lesson . It is a shame that nothing had been done to save stuff like this to teach history with real hands on seeing what it was like back then .
I believe that the underneath of the section contained a large gear mechanism which was used to turn the entire top section which was mounted on wheels to allow smooth rotation. Thanks for watching 👍
It is likely that there was a large diesel motor and gear system which turned that thing. Probably after the war front passed a distance from that point, some of the men in the area who had been too old to fight in that war moved in and looted the motor, the wiring, the telephones and empty brass shells. All of that is extremely valuable. There had been tremendous shortages of copper based items during the war and motors in general. They were probably upset at having to live under the Germans and decided to take some of their own war reperations. During the chaos of war, if you can haul it off, it is yours. If you don't take it, someone else will.
We´ve got the same type of bunkers here in Belgium near Maastricht Netherlands. Its not Abandoned though, it open for tourisme with a lot of history. Germans build them all over the benelux same artitaceture
Yeah those bunkers and these ones were all part of the Atlantic Wall, a German defence project, so most of the structures were built to the same schematics. Thanks for watching 👍
Always love the videos but even more now because he didn’t want to step on the toads, thank you from me in the UK and the toads. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
😂, we have had a few encounters with frogs and toads before, and don't worry, we never step on them. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Very cool. I need to go to France to check out some of these sites.
Trust me, the French bunkers are well worth a visit. Glad you enjoyed 👍
at the 3:23 mark was that a Teller Mine laying there? Great Video!
Could be... Thanks for watching!
Wow, your lucky you didn't notice that. Who knows what would have happened if you did. Wake up call right there. Better be careful going in those bunkers.
I wouldn't want to play around with it but if it was a Teller (anti tank) mine they are pressure triggered just don't try and and unscrew the pressure plate or it'll detonate :/
Might be a fire alarm bell painted red
Hi from Sweden
Great work Men. Did you guys ever look into someday going to the Alpine Maginot Line bunkers? Would love to see your film style adapted to that high place.. the engineering was amazing from what I saw in a documentary..but you guys do it better.
We have considered going to explore the Maginot line, but we are currently weighing up a couple of possible trips in terms of their advantages, so we shall see which is next. Thanks for watching 👍
what a shame that the bloody vandals got to it first
Yeah a real shame all this history is being destroyed. Thanks for watching
paul thompson vandels suck ,they can't keep their fithy hands off of any thing.
They claim THEY FOUND IT,,,,but the first thing they see is '18" written on the wall. LOL
Over-pressure vents are eviden.
Like many times we see vandalism
Yes, this is unfortunately a common feature of many places these days...
Cupola or tobruk?
Why don't you guys WEAR PROPER CLOTHING and FOOTWEAR? I'm an Aussie explorer, but you blokes need to either get full-on or go home.
Why do we need to wear specific clothing for exploring? There's nothing wrong with exploring in casual clothing and trainers or boots. All the clothes need to do is be functional and comfortable
