Can Tamiya Egress(2013) handle 13.5T Outlaw Brushless on Astroturf?

  • As my title said, I did a test run for 13.5T Outlaw Brushless motor with my Tamiya Egress(2013) and my Egress greatly handled well with the powerful motor on such a high grip track.
However, the highside crashes keep happening during the test run, I had to correct the track continuously. Also, due to the high temp (over 90 degrees), my Go-Pro unreasonably stopped working and it was super annoying.
They should fix this ridiculous error!
Anyway, thanks for visiting, and enjoy the video!

Very nice. If you fit the vqs centre diff with decent diff balls it makes a huge improvement to handling and will go through those cones like a fish.

Goes as well as your X-Ray but looks a lot better ;)

Very cool video, I'm about to start my Egress lockdown build haha. Can you tell me for brushless set up with standard pinion, would 13.5T be the most powerful brushless you would recommend? I have some fast Associated 1/10 and Arrma 1/8 stuff and worry that this thing will be like slow motion on RZ 23T brushed motor. In my country I can access 10.5 and 8.5 if needed... but I don't see anyone trying these out. I will be running on concrete with clay/street rubber and sometimes turf like in your video. Best wishes

Thanks and yes. I actually tried 10.5T and it seems fine. Since the 22T pinion is a max, a 10.5T is still manageable. RZ 23T with a powerful 2S lipo was fast enough to play on Astro Turf.
