I just love the fact that they included Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Freaks, and Drum Mania as one of its minigames. Gotta love the BEMANI series! But yeah, love the Bishi Bashi series as well! Watching this TAS is really fun!
This must be the most balanced gameplay out of all the Bishi Bashis, because wow, the Robots are actually putting up a fight against the TAS more often than not.
For the sake of this TAS the lowest fastest winning score was achieved. If you watch 4574M you'd find out the max is actually 13.41m. Same for the javelin throw where max score is 127.87m even though in this TAS it achieves 83.03m.
The TAS author said it already, but I'd like to add that, it's pretty obvious because the angle isn't 45 degrees. The button (foot panel) presses are so fast that the angle doesn't need to be optimal (45 degrees) to win against the computers.
Ah PSX-era Japanese games! 90% loading screens, splash screens, menus, result screens and intro/outro cutscenes, 10% one-button pressing minigames! I don't miss it!
All Bishi Bashi games are like this, PS1-era or not. Or do you think 2018 (when the latest entry, Bishi Bashi Channel, was released) is still PS1-era? 🙄
Also, no game in the series only use one input per player. This particular game, Step Champ, uses 3 foot panels for each player. Most games in the series use 3 buttons for each player.
