hey fun fact‼️ this production was at walnut hill school, broadway actress, barrett wilbert weed, who originated the role of janis in mean girls: the musical, attended walnut hill when she was in high school
So she’s a very talented singer, but but she very clearly under prepared her song she’s making choices that just don’t have the confidence to work and I would also suggest not making them, but if you’ve decided to make them make them
I will say though, there is a possibility that she didn’t make the decisions and it was actually just the play Director because there is some direction that is just horrible here for example why would there be a chant during a song? I’m not talking backing vocals there’s a literal chant in the middle of the song. Are you brain dead what could have possibly possessed you to make that horrible decision there is literally no reason why you’d ever do that. It’s a song the whole point is this person is actually trying to be melodic and you have a hard loud sound totally off key entirely throwing off this beautiful singing. I think anyone who makes that choice shouldn’t be allowed direct, anything ever in their life.
Also I have no idea what you mean by making choices she doesn’t have the confidence to make work?? She seems confident to me and unless you’re some mind reader I don’t know why you think she isn’t, and everything she did in the song worked out?? Sounded great?? No idea what you’re talking about
@@zaismu not true in the Broadway show they actually have them on tempo and melodic it's supposed to represent chanting but it is singing this is actual chanting which makes the song sound worse also the choices I mean is when she abandoned singing to talk more which is something that is done a lot more sparingly in the actual performance especially since some of the best actual moments of the song when it comes to the vocal range are being spoken for dramatic effect which takes away from the actual power of the song also you're stopping singing to do these dramatic speaking parts but the acting is off and you're not selling the emotion which is where I think the confidence comes from because when she's singing she is showing a lot of really good acting and emotion with her singing voice so I don't believe she's untalented she's just not confident in what's being done and I guessed that it's a choice but as I said the direction of this is pretty shotty so it could be something that she was told to and that's why it doesn't work because it genuinely doesn't work and the singer knows that I also don't think that she was asked to speak them because she couldn't hit the notes because she does hit harder notes than the one's she's skipping so the things that she's speaking sit well within her register she's just not singing them which means no matter what whether it's her or the director it was a choice

Yes! I personally work with a voice coach, but warming up everyday + consistent practice is what I would recommend ❤️ Good luck!

@@cathalmoloney4929also the the reason they chant in the song… is because they chant in the movie?
