I love how Underdog Lady is always basically saying that the original character is too funny and she didn't really like it, so she just created a totally different Underdog in her mind. And that character that in her mind is somehow a more "authentic" version of Underdog than the actual copyrighted one by the real creators. Like imagine a stranger running into her in plain clothes and accidentally bringing up Underdog. She'd keep correcting their notions of Underdog in accordance with her imagination.
i remember watching this episode with Underdog Lady back in the day, and my reaction was "WTF did i just watch?!?" that's STILL my reaction whenever i watch Underdog Lady.
Howard saw the brilliance of this Under Dog lady to this day we all laugh out loud on how funny this really is I wish there was more content with her in it. The fact that she took under dog so seriously is what is so funny and let me add Stuttering John did ask some funny questions here and tried to get her to open up. John should have asked more questions about the cartoon when he does that she begins to open up and it gets really good. I hope this women didn't get picked on to much cause she belongs in a Stern Hall of Fame for most natural characters we have ever seen on the Stern Show this wasn't fake this women believed she was underdog.
There was a symbiosis that existed between Howard Stern's radio and TV shows, and the public-access TV show "Beyond Vaudeville": the 2 shows tended to share certain guests, including Tiny Tim, Pat Cooper, Suzanne Muldowney (Underdog Lady), etc. Suzanne's prickliness and lack of self-awareness (I'm guessing she's likely somewhere on the autism scale) sets the stage for her to come off as extremely eccentric in this sort of setting.
I remember seeing this back when it first aired. in fact, I knew of Howard Stern before I saw this and had heard his radio show but I think this show was the first time I ever saw him on TV. That being said, I hate this *_so much!_* I feel so bad for this poor woman. She obviously has a washer or two missing and this show is so blatantly exploitative of her. It's not much different from a carnival freak show.
Underdog Lady is my spirit animal.

That mediocre cartoon came out when she was a kid, and her mind just latched onto that character for the rest of her life.
