Beautiful, Andrea! I have that style also and have thought for years that I didn’t like the fact they matched the table so closely. I want to darken mine too but haven’t had the courage lol. You’ve inspired me, I’m doin’ it! My chairs have a sentimental backstory…I was widowed at age 22 with 2 babies under 20 months (who now have their iwn babies). Money was extremely tight. In the late 80’s, country style was all the rage and I had my heart set on Windsor/bow back chairs. They were $79 each (even way back then). They let me put them on layaway and it took me 3 months to pay for 4 chairs lol! Although trends have come and gone in the last 3 decades and I’ve been tempted to get new ones, I couldn’t let them go and I’m so glad now. They’re still here, solid as a rock, and every time I remember how I got them, I feel grateful and strong, like a survivor. That sounds corny, I know, but I made it thru those days and life is beautiful. So are my chairs 😊 (but I’m still gonna darken them)
Thank you so much for sharing this sweet story with me, I hope your chairs turn out beautifully and you can continue to make many more sweet memories with them in your home 🥰🥰
Julieanna - greetings from sunny Florida ! wow, what a nice story … that must have been devastating to become a widow at that young age - you are truly a survivor ! Your chair story reminds me of one of mine - years ago - probably 25 years - I found a pair of chairs like that at a big antique show that we have in Central Florida a few times a year, but these were small - child size - and they had been painted several times, all chippy & even down to the bare wood in places - I loved them - I guess I’ve been into the rustic, distressed look for a long time - but even all those years ago, they were, I think, $65 - when my stepfather saw them, he said “you PAID MONEY for those ??? They’re ready to go to the dump !” LOL - I still have them & still love them ! So I think we have both gotten our money’s worth out of our chairs ! I did something similar to what Andrea did but to my kitchen cabinets - they were that kind of yellow oak - I cleaned them really well with a deglosser called TSP - probably stronger than what she used - then used a pretty dark Minwax stain with the polyurethane in it - I tried it first in the bathroom in case I really messed them up - but the stain took really well - made them a nice darker color - satin finish and then I went around the edges, corners, etc. with a black paint to give them more of a worn look - really turned out well - I was pleased I didn’t have to rip out cabinets and start over - anyway, loved your story & good luck refinishing your chairs !
Your dining room looks absolutely beautiful! Something people sometimes forget is that this room is heavily used and beyond how it looks in a video it needs to function for the people who live there. That sometimes dictates where furniture is placed or not placed. Only you and your family knows how the room flows and functions...so never feel like you need to justify or explain your decisions. Your home is a beautiful, cozy and comfortable space for you and your family and, at the end of the day, that's all that matters 😊
Kelly I got on here to tell Andrea the same thing. Everything you said I agree to and want to add please stop apologizing for the kids making noise. It’s a beautiful sound.
Kelly I don’t usually comment but I was actually going to say a lot of what you just said. Although suggestions are helpful they’re not necessarily practical. You have a large family so if it was me I’d rather have the space for my kids to enjoy than to have furniture.
I think your families home is beautiful. As for moving your cabinet you also have the heating vent in the center there between the shelves. I like the layout of the furniture in the dining room.❤❤❤
The chairs look so nice!! The whole room does. Maybe I missed something, but I love the shelves, and the hutch, and I wouldn’t change anything. It looks spacious, yet cosy. I don’t think anyone needs to critique what you are doing, your style is soooo good, and you are true to your own style and what you love, and that’s the most important thing!
Andrea, I'm 10 minutes into the vlog, and I have to with your indulgence, say something. So many people have ideas about someone else's home. Please dear one stay true your own design and what works for your family. One of the reason I follow you, is your uniqueness. Your home is exquisite. Your dining room is lovely. May I say, I love the new chairs and what you are doing with them. Thank you for indulging me. Hugs 💞
Your house is SO adorable! I get so flustered when people tell others how to decorate their house, lol! You keep your shelves/art/furniture, etc., where you want it! I LOVE how your table and chairs really enhance the beauty of your floors 😊
What a fantastic price for those beautiful chairs! The black wash has enhanced them! You waited patiently and the LORD has given you the desire of your heart. Isn’t HE wonderful?!
I wouldn’t change a thing your room looks beautiful. You’ve done a wonderful job making your house a cozy home for your family. What a great space to enjoy coffee or tea. Have a blessed day☺️
Andrea, I am enjoying watching you and hubby put love & TLC into your home. Your husband has such a servant's heart... what a dear to help the way he does.
Nothing more beautiful than the humble simplicity of antique pieces! Nothing better than finding something you love and that you have been wanting, for a whopping great price!! High five!! ☺️💜
The chairs look like a perfect marriage to your style and table! Don’t worry about putting furniture where others expect it! Lol. It becomes predictable and the eye doesn’t move around and take it all in the same way, to me! It also looks like your dining room is a walk thru to other rooms… less congestion! I wouldn’t change a thing! The window being down a bit, catching your eye? Not like everyone else’s.. I personally love it. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for being different from the uniform style of home decor. The reason why I subscribe to your TH-cam channel is because of your unique style in home decor. You’re a blessing of inspiration in the way that you decorate your home to be functional for your family, your home looks extremely beautiful, and most importantly, all your home decor are affordable. Thank you for not conforming to the style of modern home decor or the lates trend in home decor. Thank you for being you and sharing your style to inspire my style of home decor.
Andrea …. They are wonderful ! I love that style chair and so excited for you! How great to know Chalkboard paint can be used like that! Who knew ! LOL!!! The restaurant that our granddaughter works at used chalkboard paint on the tops of their tables! Kids draw all over them while waiting for dinner and they wash up fabulously! It has been 3 years and they still look freshly painted ! GREAT FIND RIGHT ? SO HAPPY YOU FOUND YOUR CHAIRS !!!!! 🥰❤️🥰
I just love your dining room and I wouldn’t change a thing. I think I would like to see a rug under the table, but Angela you do you honey. I don’t think you realize how talented you are and stunningly beautiful. Don’t apologize about anything .... it’s real life. Love your channel and your style of decor. Many blessings to you and your beautiful family.
Yeah, you are definitely channeling my Mom who also had the white Pfatzgraff that you have. She is 101, and still knits winter caps and scarves for kids. She lives in a retirement community in her own apartment and made it through COVID isolation with her knitting, books and TV programs. My brother kept her supplied with food and sundries. She was born in 1920, grew up during the Depression in Pennsylvania her native state and was an airplane spotter during WW2. She is Pennsylvania German heritage. She taught me how to sew and make quilts and do so many other things. So you share her taste. The imperfect chairs look fantastic with the rustic table. Great job!!
It is a lovely home. It's yours. No one else opinion matters. The shelves look lovely where they are. The hutch looks nice where it is. The new chairs are wonderful and what a great deal. I would have bleached the chairs and lightened but it's far more practical to have them "black washed" when there are children. And to prevent your recently refinished floor from damage with chairs being pulled in and out, a carpet under table and chairs would be practical and good sense. But again, it's your home. Lovely. Lovely.
Andrea, the chair’s you choose for your dining room look great. I think the hutch look’s perfect where you placed it that’s just my opinion. After all you are kind enough too share your decorating idea’s with us. I just love too see what you are doing next. 😘 God Bless
I have 2 chairs just like that!! They belonged to my aunt & she gave them to me about 30 years ago ... I love mine, too!!! I think your hutch looks great where it is!!
Andrea always remember, your home belongs to you and your family. It's wonderful that you share your ideas, and home with us. To make a comment, or constructive criticism fine, but to keep harping on it is just wrong, and sad. Please stay strong, and know you inspire many mothers, both young and old. You've got it sweetie! And I'm loving your chairs! 🤗
Andrea, your house is absolutely beautiful! You never have to explain why you like things the way you do. It is your house. You give all of us such good ideas that we can recreate in our own house. Thank you so much. Your channel is so welcoming and charming. Hugs
Andrea,You are by far my favorite....your home is soo lovely. Thank you for sharing, and the chairs look amazing with your table .(Great job) Blessings to you and your family.
I love how excited you are about these chairs. It just goes to show that things don't have to cost a lot to have value. They are beautiful. As for the hutch being placed on the wall where the shelves are, I think you have it just right the way it is. The space under the mirror doesn't need anything, in my opinion, because you and your family need room to move and breathe in the room. Of course, if you decide to change things up, go for it. Do what works for you. My little ones are grown and out of the home, so the way I decorate now is completely different and my style has evolved over time. I think we are always growing and changing, so our home should too. Thank you for letting us peek into your space and, for me, seeing your happy little crew is the best.
Your dining room looks lovely! The chairs are perfect. Please do not let others make you second guess your choices. It is your home and if you like it, that is what matters. Love your style.
Love your home....the chairs turned out great.....go with the table so well......and I think an area rug under the table would really compliment the room!
I think a rug would really make the room come together. Right now, to me, it looks like everything is floating. A rug would anchor everything in place. I use to have chairs like that, loved them. Great job on all your projects. Your place is looking wonderful. Your husband is such a jewel.
The hutch is great where it is. You almost need the area on the other side open so your boys can run and have fun. The Chairs couldn’t be more perfect. Absolutely darling cozy home. Homey and magazine worthy at the same time.
I love everything about your dining room. The hutch is perfect in that spot, the shelves are beautifully designed and well balanced on that wall and those chairs are so darling. I am just so inlove with your beautiful home. Please don't change anything it is all so beautifully done. Great job. Tfs
The chairs look beautiful! I love, love, love where the antique window is placed! It’s so unique & visually pleasing, whether you decide to fully mirror it or not. Also, it was adorable hearing your children having fun in the background! A heartwarming sound that truly makes a house a home 💓
I love your shelves where they are and your hutch is placed perfectly you don’t want to block a high traffic area it works for your room! The chairs my dear are so wonderful brilliant idea of black washing,so happy you found your perfect chairs.
I'm so happy you found your chairs! They are beautiful, and I love how you black-washed them !!! I really admire your willingness to experiment with everything new you bring into your home. Over time, you've developed such a knowing of what you like and what feels best for a space. I'd trust your judgment on any choice you make.
This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing! It's interesting how people have so many "corrections" for your home set-up. There are things that we would all would change or keep because we're all creative in our own ways. I think you've done an amazing job setting up your home to fit your home, your taste, and your family.
The chairs turned out perfectly, and I love that you could use what you had on hand! I’m impressed the paint is adhered so well, that’s a good tip to keep in mind. Have a blessed week!
Love the chairs Andrea, they are perfect for your dining room! Your home is a beautiful, tranquil oasis which I’m sure makes you and your family feel so happy and safe. 💛🌷
Hi Love all of your content. I like the hutch on that wall. It provides continuity with the kitchen cabinets. I also like the openness of the other side of the dining room. Breathing space!
My goodness, I stumbled upon your channel, and I can't tell you how much I love your home. I am 59 this year and back when farmhouse/country/old/wornout meant you were poor (and we were), I still loved it and still do today. I've seen so many trends and current stuff come and go, but some things just remain classic. I also think your dining room is set up beautifully. I hope you stay with what "you love". 😉
I love how the chairs turned out and I think an area rug under the table would be gorgeous! Not only would it add to the "look", but would help mute the noise of a happy family dinner.☺
I love where the hutch is, to me it makes perfect sense to put it where you already have it. I also love how open it looks without a rug. Maybe you can switch it up during the colder months.
Our daughter has a cabin and Windsor type chairs with an antique table. My husband painted all the chairs black with door and trim paint. It is so beautiful. And is holding up well.
Andrea, I absolutely love your dining room! It’s just so beautiful! I love your shelves, they are perfect. We have plaster walls, I feel your pain! Putting something up is a huge commitment. I love your videos, you inspire me so much!
Love, love your chairs. Leaving them imperfect was the way to go as it ties in so nicely with your decor. A bonus with the littles too as we all know life happens to furniture!
Oh my 🥰 loving everything!!! The table the chairs. That hutch😍!! Absolutely loving it all!!!! I just love everything you do in your beautiful home. And yea. A home is always a process!!!! 🤗🤗
Your chairs look absolutely perfect..and I love your choice of a lantern versus a chandelier. It just seems to accent the beautiful table even more. If you're thinking of something on the wall with the shelves...why not ask your very talented hubby to make a long sofa style table. You can keep the measurements shallow in depth so it fits up close to the wall. Legs instead of a cabinet style will still keep the room open and airy but allow a surface to serve from ( buffet style) and a few decorative pieces. Actually a lamp would be pretty there to softly light the room in the evening. I can picture a few rustic crocks sitting on the floor under it. Just a thought.....happy decorating, everything you do always looks stunning!
Those chairs remind me of my grandma’s house. Great find! Looking beautiful! I agree with you on a rug, it would cozy it up in there and break up all the wood varieties (table, chairs, floor). 💕🌺
They’re beautiful 😍 I ❤️them it’s all so beautiful!! Table, dining room, I love how you’ve done all of it!! Don’t worry 😉 if you love it that’s all that matters 😉your the one who lives with it!!! 😊
I love your dining room and your new chairs! I think the shelves are beautiful and I love them just where they are. I really enjoy your channel and your lovely family! 💕
Love the chairs! Also I think the hutch looks fine where it is. You could even get a slender sideboard table to go under shelving. I would also get a rug, I think it will make your table pop. Great job!
Loved how your chairs turned out they look amazing 😻. I totally understand when people tell to move my things around as I my house is over 100 years old and it’s hard to move and use nails with plaster walls. Keep smiling and your are amazing inside and out . 🌷🌷
Your chairs look awesome. Your dining room is perfect. A rug would anchor the table, however with little ones come big messes unless you purchase a washable rug. Love your home🥰
Really nice contrast with chairs and that TABLE!!! had 4 boys..no rug will definitely make much less work. Your room has a very warm feeling. You don't need a rug to do that. Gorgeousness!
Andrea, your home is BEAUTIFUL!! Please don't let these people may you second guess your choices!! They can fix THEIR home the way they want it. Don't change yours for them!
I ♥ your videos so much, Andrea! Your home always looks so clean and cozy. I even enjoy the extra, little videos where you update about family, food vlogs, you name it! You are sweet and authentic. Your videos are an inspiration to us all. Thanks for all you do! 🥰
I absolutely love the way your chairs come out. I also wanted to say I absolutely love your shelves, window & hutch the way they are. Your home is gorgeous & I love seeing your kiddos in your videos!!!
I'm so glad you found the chairs you love so soon! This past fall I donated my mom's antique Windsor bowback chairs to Habitat. They look exactly like yours!
The dining room looks beautiful, the chairs are perfect. I love rugs under a dining room table it’s soaks up the noise. If you do get a rug be careful not to get one too small, it needs to be big enough so when you pull the chairs out they are still on the rug and don’t go onto the floor where they can scratch it. Even if you have pads on the bottom of the chairs the rug will pull the pads off. A rug similar to the one you have in your kitchen would just pull those two rooms together perfectly. But you have to do what works for your family. (Spills)
Keep those chairs forever🥰
@@Melody-285 I love your chair story too! 😊 I hope Andrea will have great memories with HER new/old chairs too in 20 or 30 years.
@@Julie_Krantz I hope so, too ! 🥰

The chairs work so well with your light but also with the kitchen and the dark countertops.
Hi 👋 Wanda, what a lovely comment you shared 😊 by the way hope you don't mind me asking how are you doing?

You look so pretty, Andrea.🤍 Love the simple lines on the chairs. Well done, Dad.👏🏻🤎✨

I absolutely love the light fixture above your dining room table. The black on the chairs really makes the light fixture pop.
Your dining room looks lovely! The chairs are perfect. Please do not let others make you second guess your choices. It is your home and if you like it, that is what matters. Love your style.

I love the dining room just the way you have it!!
Everything looks just perfect...
It is amazing what you can do with four little boys. Looks so nice. 💕
I love your shelves where they are and your hutch is placed perfectly you don’t want to block a high traffic area it works for your room! The chairs my dear are so wonderful brilliant idea of black washing,so happy you found your perfect chairs.
I think it’s all beautiful. Do what suits you and your husband it’s your home where you and your family enjoy.
The chairs turned out lovely.
I'm so happy you found your chairs! They are beautiful, and I love how you black-washed them !!! I really admire your willingness to experiment with everything new you bring into your home. Over time, you've developed such a knowing of what you like and what feels best for a space. I'd trust your judgment on any choice you make.
Aw thank you, that is too sweet of you ❤❤
I absolutely love it ! Love hearing the kids in the background. It makes your house a home.
This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing! It's interesting how people have so many "corrections" for your home set-up. There are things that we would all would change or keep because we're all creative in our own ways. I think you've done an amazing job setting up your home to fit your home, your taste, and your family.
Thank you Alissa, you are too sweet 😊😊
The chairs turned out perfectly, and I love that you could use what you had on hand! I’m impressed the paint is adhered so well, that’s a good tip to keep in mind. Have a blessed week!
I agree with you
Love the chairs Andrea, they are perfect for your dining room! Your home is a beautiful, tranquil oasis which I’m sure makes you and your family feel so happy and safe. 💛🌷
Hi
Love all of your content. I like the hutch on that wall. It provides continuity with the kitchen cabinets. I also like the openness of the other side of the dining room. Breathing space!
Thank you, and yes I do like it open 😊
My goodness, I stumbled upon your channel, and I can't tell you how much I love your home. I am 59 this year and back when farmhouse/country/old/wornout meant you were poor (and we were), I still loved it and still do today. I've seen so many trends and current stuff come and go, but some things just remain classic. I also think your dining room is set up beautifully. I hope you stay with what "you love". 😉
I love how the chairs turned out and I think an area rug under the table would be gorgeous! Not only would it add to the "look", but would help mute the noise of a happy family dinner.☺
LOVE THE CHAIRS!!!
So beautiful! Love watching the direction your home is taking.
Thank you so much Ginny 😊😊
I love where the hutch is, to me it makes perfect sense to put it where you already have it. I also love how open it looks without a rug. Maybe you can switch it up during the colder months.
Our daughter has a cabin and Windsor type chairs with an antique table. My husband painted all the chairs black with door and trim paint. It is so beautiful. And is holding up well.
Love the chairs.
Thank you Patrica! 😊
What a steal on those chairs.
Great find. Love the black washing.
Your "new" old chairs are beautiful!!
Your dining room looks amazing just like it is! I love it! You are amazing! ❤
You are too kind! Thank you for your sweet words ❤
Andrea, I absolutely love your dining room! It’s just so beautiful! I love your shelves, they are perfect. We have plaster walls, I feel your pain! Putting something up is a huge commitment. I love your videos, you inspire me so much!
Hi 👋 Sarah, what a lovely comment you shared 😊 hope you don't mind if I say you have a beautiful picture?
Love, love your chairs. Leaving them imperfect was the way to go as it ties in so nicely with your decor. A bonus with the littles too as we all know life happens to furniture!
I'm only 45 seconds in and I love the chairs! They look so perfect with the table!💗💗
Love the chairs you found and the black wash really makes the difference. Thanks for sharing, love your home It's truly a work of love.
So happy you found your chairs. They look wonderful. I love that you keep it tastefully done and not a cluttered look.
Thank you April 😊😊
I love your dining room and your new chairs! I think the shelves are beautiful and I love them just where they are. I really enjoy your channel and your lovely family! 💕
Love the chairs! Also I think the hutch looks fine where it is. You could even get a slender sideboard table to go under shelving. I would also get a rug, I think it will make your table pop. Great job!
Hi 👋 Evelyn, what a lovely comment you shared hope you don't mind me asking, how are you doing?
Loved how your chairs turned out they look amazing 😻. I totally understand when people tell to move my things around as I my house is over 100 years old and it’s hard to move and use nails with plaster walls. Keep smiling and your are amazing inside and out . 🌷🌷
Absolutely beautiful. Yes a rug for sure. Great job dear.
🌻 I love the way the chairs goes with your table, great find.🌻
Thank you so much, I am so excited about these! 😊
I ♥ your videos so much, Andrea! Your home always looks so clean and cozy. I even enjoy the extra, little videos where you update about family, food vlogs, you name it! You are sweet and authentic. Your videos are an inspiration to us all. Thanks for all you do! 🥰
The window might look nice on the empty wall. Beautiful home.
Hi 👋 Susanna, what a lovely comment you shared 😊 hope you don't mind me asking how are you doing?
The chairs are perfect! They fit and look great with your table! 👌👌😍😍
Your dining room looks absolutely gorgeous just the way it is. I love the table and chairs.
Aw, I am sure someone will fall in love with them and they will be loved again 😊
(Spills)
