I grew up watching Irwin Allen's wonderful Sci-Fi Shows. Voyage to The Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel. He was the Best. Johnny Williams wrote the Theme music. Which floods my mind with memories of so many things. " Danger, Will Robinson! " Lol.
Vintage sci-fi: The Time Tunnel is so much better than the telegarbage we have today. Historical inaccuracies abound, but it's without question action--packed entertainment. I'm going to binge-watch this series! Many thanks for uploading this. 😁⏰⌛📺
Since the Time Tunnel was sending our time travelers to historic events, why didn't it send them to the grand opening of the first In-N-Out Burger? That was very historic.
My mother like the time tunnel she was the one that got me onto it she watched it we watched it and I thought it was great when I was younger but still is today go Time Tunnel 2023
When it was on its game the show blended brief sci-fi scenes with historical drama/adventure perfectly! It's helped by the deadpan serious acting. The kid playing David is spot on!
The most hilarious thing about this program is the guy traveling through time in a suit with a tie. They bounce on their heads and not a hair displaced.
This episode aired when I was four years old. My parents did not watch the show but I had been somewhere with them when this episode was on. All these years all I ever remembered was the scene at end where they are holding the screwdriver, said that it must have come from the Time Tunnel and then disappeared. I had no idea what the show was about or if they were good or bad but that one scene stuck with me.
Here in Germany the same, had seen TIME TUNNEL in 70(71 for the first time, the episodes were comming in the kids slot - Saturday afternoon back then. Just the Germans had brought only a couple of the episodes out of order I can see from my DVD package nowdays.
@@jphinks1194 I love the Time tunnel . Some episode were not so good but the idea was fantastic. I wish we can see a movie based on this show. The ghost of Nero was my best. Good day.
I think they were refurbished when they went back into the tunnel for the next mission as clean as they were when they started out. Someone had mentioned how hot Tony must have been in that green turtleneck and smelly. hahaha
Ha ha ha , I thought the same about them both ! Dry cleaning and suits never got ripped, it's like the man in the white suit film , well " until the end 😀😁😂😅
Incredibly, every significant event in history was enabled by a fist fight involving Doug or Tony. Without them, all of human existence would be one, long tedious slog.
And I would have loved to have been one of David's grandkids about 1910, having him tell the story about how he saw Lincoln once and suddenly appeared in this cave of thunder...
I only seen one here on the internet. They went back to just prior to Custers last stand. They brought them to Custer and he asked who are you and what do you want. “They guy in the suit says I’m a trapper”. Custer responds “that seems reasonable”
TV Guide reviewed the series back in the day. The reviewer asked "Why doesn't (The Tunnel) just drop them into a quiet meadow or field sometime, and give them a week off?"
It's uncanny how they always get sent to a place & time with historical significance. Like, they never wound up in a small town in Idaho in 1907 with everyday people who didn't give a crap about anything.
In T-0 Lincoln faced all kinds of assassination and kidnapping plots, way before Booth became active against him. Southern sympathizers, and later members of Davis's secret intelligence service (the latter working mostly out of Canada) plotted to get him at a speaking engagement in NYC, then again on the train he took from NYC to Washington -- including sabotage of a long railroad trestle his train would have to traverse near Baltimore. Once he was sworn in, they tried more than once to insert an assassin into the throng of office-seekers and other petitioners LIncoln was obliged to meet with at the White House nearly every day. A number of other plots were just big talk in bars and pool halls in DC and in the Copperhead (antiwar Northern) states. Booth's first plan, to kidnap the President in late 1864 on his way to visit the Soldier's Home in northern DC by carriage -- and hold him against the release of all CSA prisoners of war -- missed succeeding only by a hair. Booth himself stood within a couple of dozen feet of the President during the latter's Second Inaugural address. When Richmond fell, Booth hastily formed another gang of conspirators and plotted to decapitate the Federal Government by killing the President, VP, General of the Armies U.S. Grant, and SecState Seward all within the same hour on an evening in April. In the end, only Lincoln and Seward were actually attacked. If you have never read the blow-by-blow of the attempt on Seward's life, it's dramatic.
They tried first with TIME TUNNEL . THE PILOT ( 2002) also on TH-cam and from than on with TIMELESS. The mentioned modern Pilot had been trashed for FIREFLY by the way.
Irwin Allen was so unconcerned about historical inaccuracy that Pinkerton doesn't have a Scots accent, doesn't come up only to Lincolns lower earlobe (as he does in most photos of the pair together) and Lincoln cerainly doesn't appear to be 6'4" tall. To reboot this series would take a serious amount of cash because of how much CGI would be needed for the background shots unless they reverted to using cardboard and plywood for sets and props.
When this was made, Armstrong and Aldrin hadn't even gone to the moon, there was no Mir, Skylab, space shuttle or ISS and computers that rested on your lap would result in hospitalisation. Nobody had ever successfully had a limb reattached, and solar power was just a very expensive laboratory experiment. If they set a new series based on the sixties the6 could explore it all from the viewpoint of that time, but I suspect that writers would turn it into comedy drama on the hope of keeping viewers
In the early 90's they did Quantum Leap with Scott Bakula... not exactly the same as he only "supposedly" could "leap within his lefetime. It was successful and lasted 4 or 5 seasons... well... Sam didn't leap home at the end, but at least they had a Final Episode... and he's still "leaping"... The Time Tunnel was going to have a second season but a few days before starting recording the second season it was cancelled... hence... there is no Final Episode and Tony and Doug kept travelling thru time... At least we know that Tony found a job around the year 2370 as a Crooner in a Holodeck on a Space Station called Deep Space Nine.
@@jamesthefirst8790 can you imagine how a reboot of The Six Million Dollar Man would be received today? "Hey Ma, this guy's just like Davey down the street. The one who had the car crash!"
I still don't understand why when somebody "travel" from the Tunnel there are a bunch of obvious fake and ridiculous explosions... and yet, when they appear or leave from whenever or wherever in time they are in that episode... they just appear or disappear into or out of thin air.
It seems that the more I watch Erwin Allen's Time Tunnel, the less I like it. Most of the programs waste large amounts of time just trying to do any one thing. May be that is the"time tunnel".

Over 30 episodes and they brought back 10 people. Doug and Tony kept getting overlooked.
The film noir version of Gilligan's Island.

The time tunnel must have dry cleaning properties. Doug's
suit and tie always appear fresh at the start of every show no matter what happened before.
He he

Use what I was thinking. Ha! Ha!
It's one of those self-cleaning suits. He borrowed from Cary Grant in NORTH by NORTHWEST.

Wow, Tom Skeritt he was just a kid....
Incredibly, every significant event in history was enabled by a fist fight involving Doug or Tony. Without them, all of human existence would be one, long tedious slog.
After two arrivals like that the travelers would have more bones left.
So they successfully brought that kid back to the present from 1861, but they could never bring back Doug or Tony. Hmm.....
And I would have loved to have been one of David's grandkids about 1910, having him tell the story about how he saw Lincoln once and suddenly appeared in this cave of thunder...
I liked this Show ❤It
Em português brasileiro meu amigo e uma série muito boa obrigado
I bet Tom Skerritt looks at Jack Nicholson and thinks, "That should have been me."

They can bring the bomb back to the present, but not Tony or Doug.
Boy Lincoln looks kind of short in the video some of the others is taller than him

To prevent recording, which Fox/Disney would like to avoid. At best, it's all we will get for now.

Indeed, revival would have been problematic in the years after cancelation.
There's so many events Since Watergate, The Contra Scandels; Jim Jones; 9/11 and Madela Bay Casino massacre. I think new series would be successful.
