Knott's Berry Farm Fun Afternoon! Food, Drinks, Music, Train Ride, "Knott's Preserved" Show & More!

- Join us for an afternoon at Knott's Berry Farm theme park in Buena Park, California, as we explore the resort, try Boysenberry food and drinks, check on Sad Eye Joe, hear lots of wonderful live music, catch the last performance of "Knott's Preserved: A Musical Celebration" celebrating 100 years from Calico Ghost Town to the roaring 20s seaside boardwalk amusement park vibes! The show is FANTASTIC and I'm so glad we caught it, it made our whole day!! We also took a train ride on the Knott's Berry Farm's Calico Railroad and saw all the cool Old West sets as well as views of a bunch of the park's rides and themed areas from the train, tried some Boysenberry Festival food, explored the park, rides and atmosphere, really enjoyed the Western Trails Museum, so much live music, including Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies at Wagon Camp, Ghost Town, the Boardwalk, Camp Snoopy, a look at Fiesta Village being renovated, Charleson Circle, and all the beautifully themed areas of the park! We only had an afternoon to explore the park on this day, as this is right at the beginning of a longer trip, so hope you enjoy an afternoon at Knott's with us!

Short story: I grew up 10 min from Knott's Berry Farm. When I was a kid, my mom owned a wig store. She styled the wigs for the lead Calico Can Can Singer/Dancer. I'll never forget her name - Faye. I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world. She let us in to Knott's a couple of times. I grew up going to Knott's. Got dropped off after 5:00pm in the summer, for 15 dollars...I think. I forgot the exact discount. As a teen, I went to the nightclub they had in the 80's: Studio K. Anyways, Knott's was the gateway for my love for Theme Parks. Later in the early 90's, I became a Disneyland Parade Dancer myself. And after college I became an Animation Artist, and ended up working for Disney too! I'm now retired, and am still a huge fan of theme parks. Knott's is a HUGE part of that.

I had a crystal radio I put together from a kit that came from Radio Shack as a kid in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Fun little kit. Thanks dad!

So glad you guys visited Knott’s. It often gets overlooked from its slightly more famous neighbors, but for so many of us it offers a more affordable entertainment option.

Yes that hotel is so close to the entrance, would make it quite convenient! Last time I was there was midstream the boysenberry festival as well, so much fun. Little better than a boysenberry funnel cake and a sarsaparilla! 🤪
I really wish there was as much entertainment at Kings Island and other Cedar Fair parks as here.

That live show was better than some of the ones done by Disney. The sound was also crystal clear at that show. Great audio.
Back in the day, Walt worked with Knott's to share the story theming idea while building attractions. Walt helping the competitor.

That musical number at 13:52 had me dancing at my desk. I rewound it about a dozen times. I'm a sucker for a fun, catchy, cheesy musical!
Literally the songs in that show are FANTASTIC, I'm still singing them!!! Once we got off the train, there is more of the show in this vid. I know I included a lot of the show lol... more than I normally would, but it was the last day and it was just sooooo good and the songs so good, I wanted to have them for the memories and to hear them whenever I want!

Back in the 70s and 80s when I visited Knotts we loved to go to the calico saloon, grab a drink at the bar, go upstairs where you were sitting and watch the live Can-Can girl show on that stage behind the bar. Perect view and so much fun 😊
Everytime I see videos about Knotts Berry Farm I think I'd love to visit someday. I love all the history and the fact that it existed BEFORE any Disney park and that Walt himself went there to get tips from Walter Knotts, it's just so cool.

So good to see you both back at Knott’s. Sometimes a short visit can be a lot of fun. You did quite a bit for the time you were there. I do also enjoy how Knott’s really leans into the history of the park. I think that’s one of the things that make it so special-they truly value the Past and do seek to honor their past and all those who helped create the park.

Honestly the staff at Knott’s are just the BEST! The entertainment is so talented, everyone I encountered was just great and added to the experience. The glass maker was soooo sweet and talented too!!

I am a platinum pass holder for cedar fair and i always visit knotts multiple times a year aling with my hometown park California's Great America. I love Knotts during Halloween and Christmas seasons
I'd say the basketballs are iconic cedar fair. They've had them at my home park forever. They used to be mini, now they're full size.

I'm not going to say that we've never done a theme park day at the tail end of a travel day, but I have to say - you all are about 5x as efficient in a half day as we are in a full day. 😂 A lot of the big coasters were closed during our singular Knott's visit, so we are very excited to go back someday. Glad you made time for a ride on the train, it's a must-do for any citizen of the old West! The show looked like an absolute blast, too. Live entertainment is truly the heart and soul of these family parks in SoCal. Love Sam's shirt - it's EXCELLENT! (insert air guitar) 🎸🎸

The shop you guys went into was so cool!! Loved all the original pieces there!! If you like Knott’s, I would LOVE to see you experience Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. It is a long loved experience for generations of my family and it just won theme park of the year across USA for 2023. You both will LOVE it!

Knotts looks so cute! So how long would you say one should stay in the area of visiting both Disneyland/DCA and Knotts for the first time?
I’d say two days for Disneyland - one for DL and one for DCA, and a day for Knott’s. Of course there’s lots more to explore but that’s the minimum I’d say!

I know Knott’s is owned by Cedar Fair now but it’s still weird to hear it referred to as a “Cedar Fair park” especially since Knott’s to me is just its own separate entity because of its history.
Also, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang preceded Cedar Fair’s acquisition of Knott’s. Basically what I’m saying is that Cedar Fair has almost no influence into what you see at KBF. That’s the exact reason the Knott family sold it to Cedar Fair instead of the Disney company.
That's a good thing, because truly Knott's is its own thing, and not like the other Cedar Fair parks. It's closer to Dollywood, but still its own thing. It's a beautiful and unique park.
