- Join us for the opening weekend of Dollywood theme park for their 2023 season! We went to the season passholder preview day on Dollywood's grand opening weekend and got to see Dolly Parton herself in a special opening weekend parade, and bring you along for the whole experience - lots of live music, park updates, new Big Bear Mountain and I Will Always Love you festival merchandise, rides and good times!! We also enjoy some favorites like Dollywood's famous cinnamon bread from the Grist Mill, a ride on the Dollywood Express train where we get some incredible views of the brand new Big Bear Mountain coaster currently being built, and they announce the opening month for it, we enjoy some favorite rides and have a wonderful time being there as Dollywood opens for the 2023 season and bringing you along to share lots of park updates and gorgeous weather!

Kay and I are so in awe of you and Sam. You seem to bring the weather with you from Florida everytime you visit Dollywood. The last time Kay and I were there we had to purchase gloves and ear muffs etc. It seems like your ENTHUSIASM brings happiness and warmth all the way to the Smoky Mountains. I hope you are enjoying your time here.
It's so crazy because we always hope we'll get ONE cold visit to Dollywood, but it doesn't happen!! It's always warm, even when the weather calls for cold! Not that I want it to be cold, but ya know, just one cold visit.

I got to see Dolly in concert probably 10 yrs ago now. 3rd row, center stage. I cried most of the show. Shes very intimate with her music and all she did was sit and play her instruments, which she plays alot of them including her nails, and sing. Beautiful lady. Her and Loretta will always be my favorite.

We looooove train whistles! I also love cruise ship horns haha. But train whistles are like music to our ears and I wanted to share the full thing a few times for our fellow train lovers. Klondike Katie’s whistle gives me goosebumps!!
@@SuperEnthused My grandmother and aunt Live right next to railroad tracks so while most people see it as a bother I can go to sleep listening to a train :)

To be honest during one of your road trip blogs to Dollywood and other destinations it peaked our curiosity So my family we decided to do a road trip ourselves so off we went for 20 days Rock city Georgia, North Carolina friends. Maryland Family, Hershey park Hershey PA ,Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Ohio, Dollywood Tenn, and end our trip in Walt Disney World. Dollywood was our favorite place more peaceful than Disney The kettlecorn, Cinn-bread and fried green tomatoes got us hooked. Thank you for providing us with the information needed in making our trip as my daughter would say the best trip ever..

It was so worth waiting 2 hours there to see the icon herself in her own park! Plus we had fun chatting with everyone around us! ❤️ good memories were made!
What stood out to me is that parade - all the women there with their instruments, all presumably entertainers there - all there for their talent. No "look" that they all conform to, no male gaze determining who gets to walk the parade. In a different universe a park dedicated to Dolly Parton would have a glossy pack of Dolly look-alikes, but how much better to have real performers getting cheered?
IDK, I'm not good with words today but it really stood out to me that the women in the parade aren't there to conform to a look, but recognised for their music.
I totally understand what you mean and I love that too! All around the park there are musicians and performers, all unique and talented, and all different!
We love Dollywood! It's our go-to "localish" park. I'm always excited when you guys go there!
That must have been great fun seeing Dolly Parton. She seems like such a sweetheart.. I have such a fond memory of seeing the 9 to 5 movie with my Dad. Hard to believe that song has been out for a long time. As usual the Cinnamon bread looks delicious..
I'm sooo happy you got to see Dolly 🥰 I've been a fan since way back in the 70s and even got to see her in concert with Kenny Rogers in the early 80s. Dream come true to see her in her beautiful park. Ty for taking me with you! 🦋💗🦋💗🦋
Who doesn't love Dolly?! I was also born and raised in the Smoky Mountains on the NC side about 75 miles from Dollywood. Those roots run deep for us from that part of the country.

I've not been a huge country music fan (but I am a bit of a folk music fan)...but I would have loved to see Dolly in person!! What a great lady. As others have said I'm sure I am looking forward to these adventures since I have never been to that part of the country before. Thanks Jackie (and Sam)!

Great first major stop on your road trip at Dollywood! It has to be one of the most beautiful theme parks out there! I’m sure it’s setting helps, nestled up in the hills and woodlands, but the landscaping, theming, and just the way it all flows together makes it such an incredible place.
You sure packed a lot into one day and definitely seeing Dolly herself in person was most assuredly the highlight.
The new rollercoaster looks like it’ll be a lot of fun!

Dollywood reminds me of Silver Dollar City in Branson. They are both wonderful parks and definitely family friendly!
I wish I had known my favorite theme park vlogger was at dollywood on season paasholder day. My son and I were there and it was best day ever. Hopefully one day get to meet you and Sam. Keep up the amazing videos.

Hi, so happy for y'all to see Dolly in person for a bit. Dolly is amazing. My Mom raised listening to Dolly music and watching her movies. We live in West TN, but we only drove to Dollywood once when I was 7 years old, so I don't remember much. I always wanted go back, but not alone, and no one I know wants to go, so maybe in the far future I'll go alone with my Service Dog Keetah. For now we go back to Disney World next year, money saving, and for the first time to Universal. Which we can't wait to do. Anyway, so happy for y'all to see Dolly. As the daughter of a train enthusiast, I must admit that Klondike Katie has such a melodic and mournful sounding whistle. Perhaps she and her sister Cinderella are longing for their glory days on the White Pass & Yukon route in Alaska everytime they sound their whistles.
This park seems to have a more relaxed feel than Disney. You and Sam even seemed more chill. I love it when you take us here. Thank you!

Dolly Parton is an incredible singer and I love this video super enthused.
Last time I was there all that orange track was being delivered and when you rode the train yo could see it on the ground. When you ride the train sit up front to avoid smoke and cinders. The engine blows them up in the air and the first couple of cars get through before it starts to settle down. So cool yo got to see Dolly.
