welp, you could have used that samsung tablet for more. iPads are mostly locked for development and modding purpose. You could have installed a full fledged linux based desktop which runs on arm. Now for coding the iPad cant do much but the android can surely smoke any iPad in coding
Thanks for the comparison. I have an iPad and the most irritating this is there's no single icon to close all the apps as you have to swipe each app individually. I have the Samsung S9 tab Ultra and can't beat the screen size.
The „close all“ button isnt there because Apple wants to prevent you from closing the apps. That is because iOS and iPadOS is designed to run apps in the background. Its literially more efficient and more battery saving if you run apps in the background instead of closing them
@@Kanal-zh4ro Doesn't unused apps idling in the background decreases performance and eats up memory? Why would I have apps running in the background when I'm not going to use them again? An option of one icon to close the apps would be nice.

just so you know, in the settings for the ipad, you can make it so that it immediately takes you to the home screen instead of swiping up (with the face id, of course). hope that helps!
The only situation where you gonna see iPad being way faster is if you do video editing/enconding, else, daily apps open the same speed. Thing is, when the performance is so high, you reach a point where the performance of your apps/sites opening speeds will be limited not by your hardware but by internet connection and server's speeds where those apps/sites are hosted....that's way more important but that, doesn't depend on your part. So, buy what you like the most because you're gonna get the same experience or 90-95% of it.
Not really. Samsung has DEX plus google workspace and an Android eco system. I have 3 Sony Android TVs. They all work together. I sold my Macbook pro m1 and purchased Samsung Galaxy tab s9 ultra. Love it.
@@BlueVoyageTV you do realise google workspace is also available on iPad AND Apple has a better ecosystem? My brother has a s9+, a sony TV, and a seperate desktop Monitor and an echo [alexa]. They all still work flawlessly. I have a M3 pro macbook, an iPad, an iPhone and a home pod. Needless to say, he spent more than i did, and he still admits my ecosystem far outlasted his, and still works better. He occasionally uses my setup to get more work done, in a smoother way. Apple has done it better, hands down. I'm an android guy honestly this new ecosystem and setup that i used Apple for, does things way better.
Did you know on Android, your closed apps aren't closed? They are still running in the background and it's also the reason why Android can multi-tasks. So you need to close all tabs to do a fair test.
I'm Korean, but Apple's software and optimization are amazing. So I'm only using iPhone until now. 👍 The M4 chipset performance is amazing ❤ I love Apple 💕
@@Purged-f2i @stevenwood346 i think you didn't understand. I said m4 with ios is more optimized than m4 with android Apple's ios is lighter than android and secondly you will not get that performance if you will use an android with m4
@@Purged-f2i that can’t be done. apple just doesn’t put chipsets on their devices and say”yeah thats it” apple chipsets are OPTIMIZED for iDevices. like the T2 BridgeOS Chipset- the M4 is hugely optimized for iPadOS and the DarwinOS Family system and has much different components when it comes to systems. is optimized for Swift while Android uses Java Runtime. Swift is the main backend (almost) of every single iPadOS app while Android Uses Kotlin. android is a much different system than iPadOS or iPhoneOS. iPhoneOS is connected to OS X, so is iPadOS. XrOS and VisionOS are all “darwin” operating systems. they optimized for it and thats why you can’t specifically put apple components on other projects. It just wouldn’t run
You think opening apps and closing them n checking which ones fastest is a speed test? Diff apps diff platforms are built different for them to load up, how bout next time u do the real test w benchmarks and real hard working apps?
@_Fars_ Something being better than another thing ≠ preference. I just explained it. Someone might prefer the s9 even if the apple is better and there's nothing wrong with that. But you just can't seem to understand the difference between preference and fact.
I wasn't expecting the iPad Pro to looks so small next to the Samsung. I have an S9 Ultra, and it's amazing. I don't see any need to go to an iPad if you already have the larger S8/S9.
I have experiences with both Ssmsung tab and IPAD. I feel that App improvements for tab OS on IOS is slightly better and more apps there . but Samsung OS is way better if you use it for daily work ,like email, docs, file management, dex , multitasking etc. Note taking is also easier on Samsung tab. Spen is free packed and Samsung note is free too.
@@景杉 I've never used apple products before, and I'm considering buying the Samsung tab, but i don't know if it can be used for Microsoft excel and word, because if it can, then I'll no longer need to use my laptop for work and simply use the tab for work and gaming.
100% disagree with your statement about 120hz. Makes a huge difference to me and i have a hard time interacting with devices at 60hz. Its nust so much less smooth and feels laggy
these should not be in the same price category and the fact that the ipad is more expensive if you buy the pen and keyboard with it is ridiculous, apple pricing is a joke you pay more for less
I had an iPad Pro with the M1 chip, with iPad OS on it it felt like watching a Ferrari driven by a toddler. Could an iPad Pro finally come with OS X? What's the point of having all the power on an M chip without the capability of making full use of it?
@@Adamtendo_player_1 one would think that having a desktop-performance capable platform with a mobile OS would be quite the non-sense after the Surface with the X-Elite came out, but, regardless of what Microsoft did, what would be the point then of having two devices like the Air and the iPad with the very same hardware platform but different OS? Just make one device that does the same things of both the Air and the iPad.
@@paulthebored6782 what Apple needs to do is they need to have features on the iPad Pro that are more macOS like but then people say the iPadOS will be fragmented which it kind of would be but there needs to be iPad Pro specific features that could justify the iPad Pro name.
I own a Samsung S8+ and a iPad Pro M4. I use the iPad for mobile music production while traveling for work. I use the Samsung for everything else. I’d take the Samsung everyday for common usage because it’s more than enough for me. I don’t need anything else from the iPad. If it wasn’t for the M4, I’d would have an iPad at all.
I'm watching this on the Tab S7 FE and I do feel like Samsung is doing a better job, cause if you really think, Samsung seems more practical in pricing and stuff like that, Samsung is practically catching upon the animations & smoothness as well, just wait for the upcoming updates:)
Can someone tell me what use the m4 is over the snapdragon? Sure the geekbench scores are high but what real life scenario does this benefit you in? Just image and video editing? Anything else?
Music creation is one. The amount of synthesizers available for iPad is incredible. There are multiple pro level notation apps such as Dorico, Sibelius and Notion. Great DAWs, Logic Pro and Cubasis. AUv3 and AudioBus. Overall, anything that creative pros use is available on IPad OS for music creation, artists and video editors. Games and content consumption exists for both I guess.
@desiboi2559 If you are a student then m4 is unnecessary, the ipad 10th gen will do the trick. If you game frequently, then m4 absolutely destroys/smokes the s8 gen 3
I could blabber all i want but in the end it depends on what you’re gonna use these devices for. If it’s productivity like video editing, photoshop music creation the iPad is better. Even for artists that use drawing apps samsung can’t compete. Also the overall app experience on the tab s9 is worse because of the lack of optimisation. Especially in gaming the iPad is much better and more optimised. Now if you’re gonna use these for media consumption or casually the tab s9 is better because of the bigger screen and ability to install 3rd party apps and do basically what you want with the OS. For me i ended up returning my tab s9 ultra for the ipad because it didn’t suit my needs but i did miss the bigger screen and the in box spen.
iPad m4 looks great. However, due to inflation and bad economy in Turkey, I have to work for 3.4 months without spending any money to buy it. Is it worth it?
Could you help me? I'm looking to pick up a Tablet for competitive PubG mobile gaming. I ready to take the next step to performance gaming. Would you have recommendations?
Well done Samsung tab S9 Ultra. Screen bigger, better, cheaper. I will buy it soon. The speed is not a problem for now, because it's too fast to open the app.
Personally, Tab S9 is nice for Social media and abit of gaming, but Ipad is half half, the only thing ipad needs is to change the Instagram, it looks so awful
I use Instagram and YT on Safari. It uses about 66% of the battery versus the apps and is a much faster, smoother and better experience. Instagram and YT are owned by Meta and Google so it is no surprise they make unoptimised apps.
For a 1000$ less, the SD card expansion, the possibility to work on 2 full documents side by side, dex, media consumption, Samsung offer so so so much more for less, performance wise, i prefer using the 1000$ on the next gen Samsung... For me and for most peoples, its a big win for Samsung.
If you're a creator, a student, an artist, an editor ,a gamer etc.. I'd pick the ipad for any of them. It just shreds the competition in almost every category as a tablet it's not even close.
Not testing Genshin Impact, WZM, CODM in these is criminal.Just try WZM and u will see how MUCH more powerful it is.Definitely u wont need unless u are gonna play some specific super high end games
Great post thanks ! Could you do a comparison for the export times of a 5 minute edited video at 200Mbps bitrate , 4K , H265, between the two ? Could be in Capcut/DavinciResolve/Premiere.
i would always pick the Galaxy tablet, because it matches a regular A4 sheet of paper. The little size increase makes a HUGE difference when writing or drawing - because you work in a space that is very familiar to .. well, analogue media. the iPads size and format is not working for me - and while it is faster in general .. i really could not care less for a few miliseconds starting an app .. and i wonder who does. Additionally, the Galaxy comes with a Wacom style stylus - does not need to be charged .. and feels more precise and less laggy than the iPad stylus. Also, i have a Cintiq 32 as one of my main PCs .. meaning, i can interchange pens much easier between those because they are based on the EM technology. As for price - i guess prices are different of course .. depending on countries. But my tab 9 ultra cost me around 150000 ISK, while the iPad pro with the SAME specs (i have the 512 GB version) cost nearly TWICE as much .. so i really have no idea where you got your pricing from. Yes - barebones base model iPad is about 150000 ISK, too .. but that is the - 11" model - 256 GB - wi-fi only - no pen version You clearly tested the 13" making even the base model 30% more expensive than the Samsung tablet .. at significantly lower specs (which i assume, you did not have in your test)
Assume I'm average engineering student and I don't know anything about tablets, which one do you suggest: s7 series, s8 series whatever versions, but affordable too)))
You should test graphic design software. Especially 3D design like Nomad Sculpt. I have a Samsung S8 Ultra I use for it but have ordered an M4 Ipad Pro 13 1TB for the M4 chip, but want to see them side by side using the power of both systems. The M4 isn't going to show it's use unless being pushed by programs like that.
@Arijit_ When using Nomad Sculpt which I bought it for it kills the battery fast yes. Looking like something like 4-5hrs. Anything non-3D though it has a long battery life
@@Arijit_ I think the 13 has fine battery life, it's just that using something as heavy as Nomad Sculpt which I do real time 3D sculpting in Post Processing mode is pushing the M4 chip so it burns battery faster. Any other program won't experience that. Realtime 3D rendering/sculpting on a tablet is kind of new so it pushes the battery harder.

That makes absolutely 0 sense. The note and ultra are smartphones not tablets. Samsung folding phones are more like a hybrid tablet than the ultra smartphone is.
Samsung tabs warm up after the boot is due to the description of user files on the device, to make sure when your device is off, it's not accessible using ADB or fastboot or anything like that from the PC (all encrypted)

Nice video, the only thing i didn't like is that there was a noticable samsung bias, an example being at 13:34 you said "The Samsung device here still can do everything you need to do in 2024" like it's a 5 year old model, it's from 2023 mate, it's only ONE year old, they are both amazing tablets and they both perform quite simillarly, i'd just try hiding or removing the bias when making a video comparison. It would have been relevant to have done a comparative test of the editing speed of a 4K video clip. iPad Pro with M4 processor humiliates Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra in this test.

May be trading this one in when the tab s10 comes out lol
welp, you could have used that samsung tablet for more. iPads are mostly locked for development and modding purpose.

The aspect ratio of the Samsung is not optimal for some content creation.
The „close all“ button isnt there because Apple wants to prevent you from closing the apps. That is because iOS and iPadOS is designed to run apps in the background. Its literially more efficient and more battery saving if you run apps in the background instead of closing them

just so you know, in the settings for the ipad, you can make it so that it immediately takes you to the home screen instead of swiping up (with the face id, of course). hope that helps!
In my opinion, the majority will not decide whether one is 1 hundredth of a second faster or slower.

Just in numbers, but both perform the same
I could blabber all i want but in the end it depends on what you’re gonna use these devices for.
@chilly1661 apple is horrible. And I don't draw or edit vidoes so I think easy option for me.

Well done Samsung tab S9 Ultra. Screen bigger, better, cheaper. I will buy it soon. The speed is not a problem for now, because it's too fast to open the app.
How much is for the Samsung tablet?
Personally, Tab S9 is nice for Social media and abit of gaming, but Ipad is half half, the only thing ipad needs is to change the Instagram, it looks so awful
you forget about the ios file manager. It's just bad. it is of no use. Samsung's is a thousand times more useful.
Instagram and TH-cam have huge black bars.
For me the ipad file manager is the deal breaker.
I use Instagram and YT on Safari. It uses about 66% of the battery versus the apps and is a much faster, smoother and better experience. Instagram and YT are owned by Meta and Google so it is no surprise they make unoptimised apps.
Wtf uses insta💩
Did you set the samsung refresh rate to 120hz?
For a 1000$ less, the SD card expansion, the possibility to work on 2 full documents side by side, dex, media consumption, Samsung offer so so so much more for less, performance wise, i prefer using the 1000$ on the next gen Samsung... For me and for most peoples, its a big win for Samsung.
If you're a creator, a student, an artist, an editor ,a gamer etc.. I'd pick the ipad for any of them. It just shreds the competition in almost every category as a tablet it's not even close.

Yes - barebones base model iPad is about 150000 ISK, too .. but that is the
- 11" model
- 256 GB
- wi-fi only
- no pen
version
You clearly tested the 13" making even the base model 30% more expensive than the Samsung tablet .. at significantly lower specs (which i assume, you did not have in your test)
You don’t need to tap the power button just to unlock the screen. You may directly tap the screen then swipe to unlock
