He makes Rammstein. I mean, Rammstein has several integral unique parts, but IMO he’s the man. I don’t think they would be my fav band if his musical contributions weren’t there. Gives it a whole different sound. I think he also produces or composes much of their music, iirc. There are a couple things about his personality that p me off lol, but that’s my own subjective issue 😇.
@@simoneliberatore6089 it's not so easy to learn another language as an adult. Most english speaking people can't speak other languages and yet they judge people who make an effort to speak theirs.

I don't think people appreciate it enough, how hard it is for adult folks who grew in a drastically different time altogether, had no exposure to the language like we all have today and had no lessons in childhood to learn a language from nothing. We're proud of you Flake
You find that when you visit Germany, particularly Berlin. Everyone spoke PERFECT English to me there. I met only one person who couldn't speak English and he was an older dude asking me for directions in OstBanhof.
Flakes contribution to Rammstein is the driving force to their sound in my opinion. Yes they work well as a full unit but Flakes electronic/synth work is what really gives them their unique sound.
Flake is so courageous. He is still stammering a little but he speaks in public, even in a language he had to learn as an adult only. I love his gentle way and how he tells things just as they were. I am from Western Germany and I learned a lot about East Germany. Flake is great 👍

Extroverts have an easier time of learning to speak a foreign language as people will listen to them and they aren't overshadowed by other people speaking that language. Introverts have to take more conversational lessons but they also tend read and write that language better than extroverts. But Till is said to be an introvert as well off stage. I think Till is more an ambivert. The mind of one that needs to recharge social batteries alone in nature and then put on the extrovert act with people.
Um. Those people sit so randomly and chilling as if they don’t realize WHO is standing in front of them. I would watch my eyes off without blinking, if Flake came to my university. His English is sweet, though:)
Wow! It's the firts time i see him speaking that much, like, he is always kinda introvert and that he decided to talk about his past as a musician is really cool, plus, he was trying his best to talk english and make everyone understand, like come on, what a nice guy
He's a typical Ossie-East German. A bit introverted, humble, great dry sense of humour, English not great because they couldn't practice it growing up there but they make an effort to speak it for you, kind, hard working and smart with real depth to their characters. Love my Ossie man :)
@@greenknitter I know inteviews in German from him. It's really fun to listen to him. his english is as good as mine. We come from the same country and the same time. i love his dialect and his english.
Bravo to Flake on such a fascinating presentation combining music, East German history and personal history. It takes guts to be so open about some of the things he mentions. It's such a shame this wasn't recorded all the way through. Also, what a wonderful surprise it was to hear him speaking English, and so well too!
He speaks better English in public than most people in The Netherlands I know that speak English. I am very impressed and i enjoyed his speech. He may be my favorite Rammstein member since he adds some flavour to the band.
I think native english speakers do understand what he is talking about. His pronounciation and grammar sometimes lack but hey ... he never had any english lessions in school when he was a kid. Great that he had the courage to hop on this stage. :-) He's one funny guy by the way.
I wish the public was more interrested bc hes talking about serious parts of his story and doing really well with the english and stress. I wish they cheered him more

Its amazing the beginning and the trials and struggles. You get a sense of the struggle, and the improvisation they had to do to make things work in those days. The hoops they had to jump through to play and situate a small venue or gig.

It turned out that Schneider is the glue in the band and brought them back together. He also brought Richard back into the band after the others threw him out. Then they all went to group therapy together. Flake is too shy and probably stands back when there are arguments going on.

This had to be really hard for him. He‘s really shy, and speaking out freely in a foreign language takes balls. What a great guy.

It takes balls to stand before an audience when you're shy, and english is not your mother tongue! Way to go Flake!
He also was/is a stutter and therefore never spoke much when he was younger, so this is quite remarkable.
For someone who doesn't fluently speak English, his English is surprisingly really good.
