Basil Poledouris - The Adventures of Conan: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular

'The Adventures of Conan: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular' was an attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood that ran from 1983 to 1993. It was a 20-minute live-action stage show that took place in an indoor theater and was loosely based on the film 'Conan the Barbarian'. The "Hyborian-influenced" music was once again composed by Basil Poledouris.

I worked on the Conan Show at Universal Studios in Hollywood. I was Loved Shah The Double Swordsman from 1986-93. Every time I hear this soundtrack It brings back great memories

It is incredible, unusual, an insult that this EPIC music HAS NOT WON AN OSCAR to the best original music or soundtrack!!!

While I agree about no Oscar recognition for Poledouris' work, especially Conan the Barbarian, this was just from a liveshow at Universal Studios, not a movie.

I only just became aware of this over the weekend, when opened I the two-disc City of Prague Philharmonic re-recording of the "Conan the Destroyer" score. The second disc has this and some alternates from the film. I can't get that string piece from the opening out of my head. I want more!

I actually prefer the 16 minute Adventures of Conan score to the Conan The Destroyer score. Destroyer rehashed way too much from Barbarian, like Thulsa's orgy music playing in Dagoth's ceremony.
