LEGO City Beach Roads, HUGE SCRAP PILE, & Plate Alignment

- In this update, I align the LEGO city by introducing and connecting a bunch of baseplates. Now the boat yard, beach, and train yard have some structure! After that, I start constructing the road to the beach, boat yard, train yard, and countryside. Working on the city is fun... but it creates a huge mess... my mess in particular had become quite large. So in addition to working on the city, I also scrap and sorry a huge amount of LEGO.

Love the progress of the city mate. We’re with you on this journey! I hope Mrs Bricksie’s recovery is going well!!
progress is literally insane! He needs to chill out, I've built like 1 Star Wars battle pack in the same time he built and entire warehouse city 😂
A skycam over your city would be awesome... but we should've suggested that a few weeks ago I guess
Enjoy the new plans on the newest improved Bricksieville!! It will take some time and alot of rework to get it where you have vision.
I would suggest lowering the water and adding another set of baseplates. This way you have more then enough space for boats, you can create a containerdock by the railyard, you can easily make the bridges. And it would make the city so more lively. I mean the modular system is great, but with it you are seriously hindering creativity
Should make a pier
Lego chaos is the ultimate chaos!
Hi make a train bridge
where do you order the big bags of pieces?
Okay, Bricksie, hear me out... What if you built a barge and loading dock complete with colorful shipping containers in the very front left corner of the city? The boat dock would then sit next to it, leading to the lighthouse, etc. I feel like that could be a fun addition, considering the train yard would be positioned directly behind said dock, making perfect sense for goods being transported throughout the entire city!
Anyways, my wife and I are absolutely loving your new space and are so excited to see how this massive city comes together!
I think you should have a food truck car lot next to the zoo and the beach area
It would be cool if you had some water section set back a little deeper to give yourself room for a small island where your lighthouse could sit instead of on the mainland.
I was thinking a few videos back when the train yard and boat yard were first being prepared that adding another table section at that corner to extend the water further toward the edge of the carpeted area would be a good idea... including giving the mansion island a place to go where it's actually "part" of the city. But on the other hand, I'm not sure that someone with enough money to have a mansion on a private island wants to be in the path of a lighthouse.
The water canal should go to the left or country side, not in the middle of the city. Are you doing a Venice-like city....???
There are lots of cities with a single canal going through the centre, particularly in the UK. I like the inclusion of it in the Lego city.
Perhaps the lighthouse would make more sense near the boatyard
Super cool setup man! :D
It would be absolutely sick if you made a factory for the city. Maybe making minifigures, or cars! You could motorize it aswell. would be a great addition to the city
A Lego-factory to produce bricks for the Lego-city
That is a great idea. I live in Michigan and our Lego Land has one of the factories in Detroit with the robotic arms building the cars. It is exquisite
The canal entry into the city is such an eye-catching opportunity. Whynot make the whole section raised, and drawbridge both the the railroad and normal road.
I feel like you need a train/bus stop by the beach and zoo because theres not much room for parking. So a stop would make more sense :-)
Also thank you for being you! I look forward to see your progress on the city. Makes me day! Keep it up bud!
Very smart to add all the baseplates to give you a sense of scale and where things can go. Step by step day by day you’re making great progress. My son said I’m jealous of you. He’s not wrong.
Looks beautiful from up top! What a wicked view for you while you work upstairs 😊
While being sick there isn't really anything better than watching the new bricksie video!
Thought for yea maybe putting the train station between the zoo and edge of dinner parking lot and maybe do diagonal parking spots / lot in front of zoo thanks Jordan love getting up and looking forward to seeing what's new in the city
So much progress!! The only tip I see is with the lighthouse. The smaller building for the lighthouse keeper usually faces the shore, not the sea. But it is your city and you can place how you want! Everything looks absolutely gorgeous!❤❤❤❤
Artwork!
Those walls look bare.
Poor Spider-Man has been on the floor forever.
Looking great. Seems like you've got room to expand the zoo towards the boardwalk area to fill in the extra green space. Keep doing the amazing job bricksie your the city moc master.
Dunes would look really cool on the beach side of the train track! It would give you a different color to play with in building elevation
Jordan, running a track parralel with the ship dock is also most appropriate with cargo cranes
Bricksie County is coming along nicely!
Maybe take a break from the city and put all those wall hanging legos on the floor up…. Seeing them sit there leaning against the wall every day as you walk to the city is killing me. LOL
Nice video! What if you made a Lego junk yard?
Would you ever consider having no boardwalk at the canal inlet and having a drawbridge so that small boats could use the canal? Love the progress as always!
"A Giant Plate of Bin" Bricksie June 2024 (TM)
for the boardwalk you could add a diagonal section the connects the front part to the back part
Another thought maybe you would have to look at it but the light house at the end of the board walk on the corner edge of the table giving the appearance of its out along a long dock but careful it may get an elbow ever now and then thanks again
How about a zombie lab on the edge of the city…lol
Maybe would you buy a trixbrix switch for a smoother turn?
In the train yard you should add some graffiti and other things that will allow there to be a pop of color just so its not so grey
Love your city, keep up the good work
Just a little idea 💡. We're are you going to park when you go to the zoo.
I'm so glad you decided to focus on your city, it's really looking good and your extra space is really allowing you to grow nicely.
You should add a moving water fall into the mountains
Boatyard, also more commonly known as a harbor or port :P
You should do a fan vote to name your Roomba assistant 😊
It always feels like Bricksie has never been to a real city....
This is lego lol
@@Bricksie Every good lego city is modeled after a real city. No offense, but try to get some inspiration from real live and you might end up with something that does not look like a child made it. ;)
You could put parking spaces across from the zoo
Since you will make the boat docks, I want to have a shipping container yard. There will be cranes lifting up those containers and trucks transporting the container
Ooh, yeah, it'd be perfect to have some stacks of containers between the boatyard and railyard. Plus, it'd be an easy way to cheat and change the elevation between the two. Just make the container stack a little higher on one side and you're golden.
How u remember all those parts etc is amazing .
Just watching you do everything is rather interesting & enjoyable.
Well done.
Feeling the simple joy!
Hey Jordan, might i suggest a pier at the place where your board walk will curve into the beach. It would be pretty cool if the pier hung out past the table some and could give you some under water space to play with too?! (Yellow Aquanauts anyone!)
I'm very glad to see you're finally sorting your roads because I've been seeing them in a couple of videos now and I was wondering when you'd finally get to it lol.
Also I very much enjoy it when you mess up words, "a huge plate of bin" lmao!
I’m super impressed with all the progress you make in only one or two days! You’re super talented, Jordan!
After finishing this LEGO city, his hands must be really calloused
Hi Bricksie.
Wow! You made fantastic progress today! Sorting out your pieces was a job well done, and you will have things more streamlined now for building your dream.
Love your ideas for the boatyard, dock, harbour etc. Seeing you so happy in your Lego City is what we all wanted for you.
With the way the road plates are now (well, @ 9:35), there's a perfect spot/chance to add a parking lot in front of the Zoo! Perfect for an escaped animal... Bahahaha xD
Edit: The lot could service both the Zoo AND the campground! Or, just serve as a transition to the dirt road.
Have you seen Brickcrafts latest mountain-making technique? Definitely worth taking inspiration from!
I really love the logistics and infrastructure building days in the city. So much progress.
I know you're pretty far along the path now, but I think the mansion is one of the best things you've ever MOC'ed and I think with all this new space, it could look great prominently positioned in the city. You could place it as its own island at the left front corner, then shift the harbor and trainyard back a few plates toward the campground so you had some water between the mansion island and the harbor.
now that you have all your city sets up off the floor and on the tables, if you ever get bored of repetitive stuff (like building track or waterways), could maybe take part/full day to go hang up bunch of the art to also get it up off the floor as well (and add some more splash of color on the other walls).
Great work. Would you consider some wildflowers in the grass verges? It might look nice. Enjoying all the progress you’ve made
To implement canal, would it not be,easier to have a bridge that opens up eg Tower Bridge London England or the bridge in St Petersburg, Russia. That makes it easier to implement boardwalk, road, water. Also the bridge would look spectacular.
Hi, may I place a suggestion? Instead of those large square holes in the center of the city, why don´t you use the canals for acessing the inner areas? You could make 2 canals with the water surface lower than the rest (this way you wouldn´t have to build bridges...), running from one end to the other of the city, You would be able to roll sections of the canals under the tables (by means of rollers and rails), enabling you to acess any part of the city you want with minimal loss of building space... Think about it. Regards, Marcos.
One suggestion I have is to align the entrance of the beach parking lot with the “T-road”, it’s a bit awkward right now, I’m sure it’s a pain with the base plate modules, just an idea. City is looking good!
Hi Jordan it's coming along. Great man. 😊 Board walk and. Transition the sea beach. Into river and conal and the train yard and. Harber arear .yes 💥💥💥👌👌 moveing the light house .most the time light house are in frunt of on-top a rock cliff arear yes the build has some. But will you add more around it .carnt Waite to see what you. Do for the train yard 😊
I love your ocean-side. My only concern is because it looks so beautiful, the property taxes will skyrocket for the minifigs with buildings there. I know the guy who owns the lighthouse is feeling the pinch. :)
I bet you're having a great time working on this large a city!
There are only gradients in a train yard if you're going to have a 'hump yard' for sorting cars (Union Pacific back in the day built an N scale model of a hump yard and that's even enormous.) Hump yards are a completely different creature...it would take up a huge amount of space.
Love the build and your progress! Huge huge fan! Was talking to my wife during our daily viewing and thought a sports stadium somewhere in the city might be cool? Not sure which sport would be best but it would look awesome if you could look inside of it and the amount of different scenes you could do on the field/stands would be amazing!
This just popped in my head. I don't know how well this would fit, but you should totally integrate the new Barad-dur set into the mountain you plan on building! Having it look over the lego city would look really cool.
Trains and boats and NO planes in Lego City… is there room for development in the future
Does your coffee ☕️ get cold while your mug is sitting there? My coffee ☕️ always gets cold because I be very focused on build project.
That's a LOT of baseplates. I'm curious as to why you have the one road T-section near the railway on a blue baseplate (6:05-9:42)... but it sounds like that's something that might be getting changed in the near future along with the section built on the two half baseplates.
Amazing work this video - remember to take breaks though! When you've got the train line embedded along the road, you tend to blend it in as dark grey with the road, but I wonder if it might improve 'minifigure safety' is there were stronger road markings dividing the tracks and road - or perhaps a different colour between the tracks (e.g. green). I realise latter might be more tedious to go back and do, but it might help save some dark grey tile by swapping it out for something else.
It's cool the harber is near. The train yard. Just like in Melbourne City Australia. Big cargo shipping container place for all the cargo shipping container s coming in buy ship and. For train cargo container s to take inter state ...I wish I had a shipping container yards .with big shipping container Crain .😊
Hi Bricksie
I have a idea for your transition for you boardwalk to the beach area.
Here in the UK 🇬🇧 we have breakwaters, groynes, and some of these are made of stone and extend into the sea so you can walk on top.
You could do this just to the side of the big wheel on the beach and could have people fishing from the end and enjoying the view of the beach
Is there any particular reason why you don't add extra tables to the layout, instead of the diorama islands you're planning to do? Adding even more space to the city would make way more sense. Just my 2 cents.
I think you should expand the beach.
Hey Jordan, have you considered lowering some of the tables in the city at all to give it some contrast? Especially the tables nearest the front with your beach and seafront. Lowering those tables 5” or so means you can then build up to the downtown area and really give it some depth. Loving your work though and ignore the haters in your comments. It is your city so you do you!
For the lighthouse and old fishing shack area I think a bit of a cove maybe 2 baseplate wide between the fishing shack and light house, would look cool with a small rocky island kinda like what you see down in Vancouver.
Then the light house on a small out crop, with a rocky coast line going to the harbor,
Where the road crosses the train track you should add a level crossing
Having watched the swapping and shifting about of the boardwalk/frontage pieces, i think the boardwalk would make sense to finish at the canal plate, with maybe some sort of canalside/riverside bar at the end of the boardwalk. Currently theres no reason for anyone to use the boardwalk, and ending it at the river would make it easier to finish it alongside the traintrack raising over the top of the canal as well.
The other side of the canal can be more sand/mud from the traintrack into the water perhaps?
I love you videos!😊 Perhaps an idea to place the Ferris wheel more forward (in the shallow), to make it look a bit more playful.
Enjoyed this video. You know what you want the city to look like and I like your thought process. Watching your videos is one of the best times of the day.
I really like the city so far- however I really believe you are placing the canal in the wrong place- it should be in the center of the city- where you now have the zoo- bisect the city with the canal- city and boardwalk on one side of the canal- everything else on the other. The canal could then lead up the mountain and waterfall in the exact center of your city- where you originally planned to have a mountain. Really think about it- because then you wouldn’t have to mess with your city streets as much- the canal and mountains would then also be more of a focal point- and the canal would make sense because it would be fed by the mountain and waterfalls
This is still going to be cool, but I can’t help but wonder if splitting the space into multiple spaces would be better.
It would allow Jordan to more easily pull off star wars and other scenes and actually get areas nearly perfect while others are being reworked.
Hello, with my daugher we love your city. She is 7 and wanted you to know the zoo is too nice to be so far away from the side... No one will see the animals :) maybe you think of getting it on the top of something?
make the road a draw bridge instead of over (ramp) the water. And make the train track a train draw brigde (old scholol). Allows boats to pass into the canal and frequent the downtown.
The bowling 🎳 alley would work really well down by the beach and maybe the downtown diner too
But I love what you're creating keep it up 👏👏👏
45th 😊
Fantastic job as always. Have you thought about putting the diner infront off the zoo. The car park looks like it would line up with the enterance i dont think it would look out of place using it as a duel purpose car park
How about a small cemetery somewhere in some random green space?
Maybe the boardwalk could could be on an angle between the city front section to the ferris-wheel section.
I figured the bit in front of the zoo was going to be a carpark or something but I guess a carpark wouldn't be exactly interesting to see.
I think the new boardwalk can be pushed back a few studs, because what can you really do with that green strip. Then if the Ferris wheel pier was enlarged a bit, the new boardwalk would be easier to connect.
Just idea, on train curve, the one close to the zoo, maybe you can put gas station there.
Is not too tall compared to the surrounding buildings and it would free a space on city to put like the hospital or other building.
Tell you what, if there was ever a city big enuff, or “reason” to make a realistic elevated lego freeway or “inter-town” lol…this is it
Love the city! In the far back where you are going to have the mountain and skiing area, you should have a frozen lake that then feeds into a river that flows through the wilderness area and canal through downtown.
Have you not thought out putting in a harbour wall then have the boats in the marina behind the harbour wall?? And move the train yard up the top next to the amusement park as both are usually on the outside of town…..Just an idea 💡
Turn the train yard 90' anticlockwise, and run a long straight along the edge of the table onto a pier of the boat yard. This will allow you to put a container loading gantry across a track and to a ship docked on the side.
Please can we have a puppy park in one of the green spaces? I’m 38. Love the channel dude 👍.
I know you have the train yard for storage. But it could be interesting to create a train station and passing loop of track behind the skate park. So Mini figs could travel via train to the beach
I like the idea of a gravel road transition. Maybe the side opposite the train track can be a former paved road and the road is left in disrepair as it used to be the main road until the beach parking lot was built and the new road next to the tracks was put in. I think that your creative landscaping skills would thrive trying that.
I know you’re focus on the city but when are you gonna put up the pictures? I’m waiting for the brickise sign to go up.🤪
Would love to see the new Lego city harbour in your boat yard as well as the new Lego semi truck maybe receiving a shipment of new sets using that service road
Should make the canal loop back to the Light house and then have the boat yard after ;-) . in anycase already looks great !
