I miss him so much, His music got me to buy a drum machine, he did change my life his music made an impact on me, im doinn beats for almost 2 years now learned soo much I invested so many hrs infront of my MP and still investing my time to perfect my crafts Thank You Jay Dee, every Kick every hihat every snare or any type of sound the pad releases YO MAN THIS GOES FOR U! R.I.P I will always support YOU
straight up mang, i almost dropped a tear with that guy. god bless the hearts dilla has touched straight up. who woulda thought a skinny dude from the D could bring men to tears with a machine that wasnt even meant for hip hop? so much talent. he was an angel straight up.
I got a great deal of respect for Dave because he didn't hide his feelings. He got absolutely NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR. Sometimes a real man has to go ahead and cry when he take personal losses like that.
It's amazing to see just how much one man can really change the lives of others. That is why Jay will go down as one of the most inspirational people of all time. He really is truly missed.
@Deyriv Good for you, and props to your peeps for exposing you to the underground. Welcome...Here's a quote that I love in regards to commercial/fake rap..."The underground is where I dwell at, that's where I find my heaven, and where you find your hell at"--GURU of Gangstarr. We takin' over!!!!
Dilla didn't like to smoke weed a lot because he had blood pressure problems since a kid. We all know that Mary Jane makes the blood pressure go up (fast heart beat) and that is why he tried to avoid it. Although, he loved it since it made music sound better, especially his fuckin amazing music. But I guess he went out a true G.
he produced so much had a huge impact on music during his life, i can't help but think how much more he would have put out if he had lived longer. the good really do die young
If James yancey wasn't born....my life would be different.....instead of being in love with music & beatmaking I'd I'd either be in art school.....or still under the jail....rest in power brother
WOW! As a HUGE dilla fan this shit hit me right after seein homie break down. Dilla has been BEYOND an inspiration to my music. Anytime I go on vacation to another place it's always Dilla blastin in the rental. His music has a way of makin u enjoy life. I cant really explain it. I wish he was still around so I could cop a new Jay Dee joint and can only imagine what he would have came out with next. It's a shame...I believe he did some work on Busta's new album thats comin out. R.I.P Big Homie!!
50 years of Dilla Creator of lofi hip hop and new musical tempos Kanye West himself said that Dilla is as important as Michael Jackson Dilla literally changed music as we know it. He changed our lives and the lives of people who don't even know him. Like Melomano, Spotify put me in the 3% of people who listen to music the most. I have never heard such great sounds in my life. It's a shame that your name isn't heard louder. The name of the best producer in history, the artist with the purest sounds Thanks Jay Dee Your music is Purity and soul
yo this is your boy Dave NY wanna thank all of ya'll for all the love and yes it was not only an honor to know the GOAT but it was 1 of the biggest blessings of my life next to my son being born NOT 1 day has gone by that Dilla didnt pop n2 my head so 4 Dilla,Ma Dukes and the Yancey fam lets keep Dilla alive and please believe we got sum shit coming out on Dilla beats not jus Busta but Bishop Lamont feat Talib Kweli, Raekwon, & more so get ready theyre comin J DILLA 4EVER!!!

Yo, on the real I feel what my man is saying about lil vid here, there on J Dilla. Understand that we can't be upset about his passing because I or no one can understand his pain his was going thru, being released from this earthly body may have been the best thing to happen. Look at all the new heads who trying find out about him. When I wear my Dilla rip shirt....Kids are like "Yo he was illest". J Dilla will live forever thru his music, influence the world.
i think dave, is dave new york...dude that runs a whip rental company in LA...peep the dilla interviews part 1, thats him speaking. he's also at the end of 'baby' going, "most of the music on the radio is straight garrrbaggeee"
I was into old school rock n roll but my friends were trying to get me into hiphop. I was reluctant because all I knew about was lil wayne and all them fake ass rappers. Swear to god J dilla AND Madlib converted me to underground hiphop. My homie hooked it up with Champion Sound album and I must of listened to that whole album a hundred times. They both still remain my favorites and Madlib still puttin out that REAL HIPHOP! Rest In Peace Dilla.
If you never listened to Dilla before his death, its ok. I been listening to Dilla since i was 7 years old, you ask how??? Pharcyde, Tribe, Common, Masta Ace, Erykah Badu...All those and more i grew up to listening to when i was little. And that was me bumping dilla, True fans get chills when runnin' from pharcyde comes on, ya know why?? Because it takes us back to the day.
Background track from Ruff Drafts, Lets take it back.. Thumbs up so everyone can see /watch?v=5LXYeS4AGfM Respect to Dilla, Rest In Peace he changed many lives..
id give my right arm to sit and talk with Ma Dukes about Dilla. You can tell that he was the type of dude that truly took care of his mother. and ill tell u what, i think the reason why dilla kept himself so secluded, was to not get drawn into the bullshit that is the music game, in other words he let his talents do the talking, and kept his family's head high. too few ppl know who this guy is, he should be a model for all artists in the game to day
I wonder if Dilla had some sort of schizophrenia because those are people who are extremely creative if the disease isnt that severe. Just a thought of mine.
yo this is your boy Dave NY wanna thank all of ya'll for all the love and yes it was not only an honor to know the GOAT but it was 1 of the biggest blessings of my life next to my son being born NOT 1 day has gone by that Dilla didnt pop n2 my head so 4 Dilla,Ma Dukes and the Yancey fam lets keep Dilla alive and please believe we got sum shit coming out on Dilla beats not jus Busta but Bishop Lamont feat Talib Kweli, Raekwon, & more so get ready theyre comin J DILLA 4EVER!!!
i cry every time i watch this....when i met him he was so humble like he didnt know he made the best beats ever....r.i.p
