What if the town was originally called Respite, but through the evolution of language, it became Rest Pit, like how some people pronounce Respite with a short I, but also like a Pit Stop. It's a place to stop and rest. Ooh, on that note, an inn would be a good idea.
Funny story, I live in South Dakota, whose capital is named Pierre, obviously pronounced like the name, Pea-Air, presumably from when this state was part of the Louisiana Purchase, but the locals of the state pronounce it Peer, like a dock or to peer down at someone, and it irks me to no end. Literally the rest of the country pronounces it Pea-Air. Just listen to Wakko's States. Language is a funny thing.
Seeing that your patrons got to contribute to this build with little shelves full of nonsense pushed me over into becoming a patron, I hope you're happy
Im loving the lore of this world, the builds have always been really cool, but knowing they are all part of one universe is just that extra level of awesome! and as always the humor never disappoints. lol
Well done! In northern Maine in my childhood there was an old junk shop whose porch roof was a plane wing from a crash, so thank you for the lovely and strange memory. By the way, I am in the middle of making a post apocalyptic dollhouse! If, in fact, I exist.
I thought you were going to mention Liberty Tool (and the museum) in Maine. It's got more random bits and parts and nuts and bolts and most everything else, but I don't think there are any airplane wings, surprisingly. It's one of those hidden gems in the weird oddities of the world category. Very much like some kind of post apocalyptic trading post. But with a small stage and dance floor on the 3rd floor. The museum, across the street, is also a mix of tools and funky art, and is entirely unexpected in an otherwise sleepy rural part of Maine.
I'm happy that all the stuff from us patreons came in so well in this build. Since we are scattered all over the world we'll never meet, but in this build we are somehow phisicaly united. Thanks for this oppurtunity to build something together.
It might be a fairly minor detail, but choosing the letters TPΛDℲ for the shop and then jury-rigging it to say TRADE was some next-level ingenuity and world-building
Always down to learn some lore about the setting of Rust and Crust. It's the fluff that helps pull it all together. Really like the space craft wing as a roof, ties the whole salvaged settlement together quite nice. Hats off to the patrons shelves and junk, really nice! Gives it a real lived in look.
So initially seeing the image, my first thought was exactly Red Rocket! This is by far my favorite build you've done. All the randomness really sells it as being used daily. I absolutely love this piece! Great inspiration as always Bill, thank you!!
One of my favorite builders.. better still; whenever someone accuses me of being, oh, I don’t know, a tad off center, I can just show them one of your videos. Has a decided tendency to recalibrate their expectations, as it were. Keep on keeping on, dude.
Hi Bill, just found your channel recently from browsing for kitbashing ideas and in the last week or two have been binging your videos. Really motivational for me seeing all the stuff you make and how you make it as well as and your theme and style of editing... Shame about everything else I suppose. Don't say I never said anything nice about you. So thanks! - Oli
You asked if we can see what now? A cat, you say? What cat? Story time with Bill is excellent! I loved seeing you collab with Patrons, too, that’s really unique and quite fun.
Ah...so you outsourced bits to produce this marvel to your minions....er..PATRONs...I see. You are like the Andy Warhol of the hobby world! "Factory" the heck outa of it and you will never run out of accessories...GENIUS! Admirable build sir as always.
I definitely love the lore of this. I would read this. Plus the awesome miniatures you make help make the world so much more real. I hope it gets colder soon for you! Heat is heat and when the infrastructure isn't there it's a nightmare.
Honestly, I watch so many miniature buildings and towns especially industrial/steampunk stuff and these are like the coolest things I've seen someone make, I can't believe I only now seen your channel.
I really like this episode Bill. I think your Respite buildings might just be your best stuff yet. I would love to see some more (maybe a cafe or a hostel?). BTW cat does exist. I can see him!
I think this might be my favorite build you've ever done, the way the different junk pieces came together in the end looked fantastic and all of that detail on the roof... so good! Also I want to steal that hook on the rope from that crane toy, would be so perfect for what I'm working on right now hahaha~
I feel like at this point the planet should be called Rust! I absolutely love the lore that you're presenting here. It's really cool and adds so much to your builds!
A perfect mix between Fallout and Ghibli, I absolutely love it! I enjoyed the lore as well. It’s like you are making the 40k equivalent of Boylei’s imaginary wild west.
Tr'ahh-day, Truh-they, Truw-dei... I love this collab between you and the patrons, and would totally like to see more of these. Having a variety of makers makes a piece even more interesting and unique. Also loved your categorization of the shelves.
We appreciate the dedication to the montage' and I think it's worth it in the long run. I personally love getting the narrative bits too, so keep on keeping on, steady as she goes.
Beyond the builds I really enjoy the work you put into these videos, down to the last detail... The workshop, the video editing, the sound design, the music, the humor... great work!
One of the things with the heatwave in Britain isn't just that we don't have the infrastructure for it, we have the infrastructure for a very different climate - we are lucky to have a moderate climate, so extremes aren't good. Our homes are built to retain heat, which in a heatwave is Not Good, especially as we don't have AC in our homes, as its been unnecessary. We, personally, have not developed the personal knowledge and experience of how to handle extreme heat. So yeah, I get frustrated with the "oh, it's just X heat" stuff. Amazing build, your creativity is next level. Love what you did here.
I love this! The way it's one build made of a collective from a whole group of Folk. Really great idea! Love the Alien head. Like a post apocalyptic deer head trophy. 😂🤝👍
This one you really out-did yourself, this is seriously awesome stuff, and you getting to collab with supporters just makes it even more cool, I'll have to re-watch just catch any details I missed. Very cool!
That looks like the kind of shop I’d love to rummage through, it’s so amazing! At the start of the video I was thinking “I wonder how he’s doing working in the attic in the heatwave?” Most of us in Australia are looking at what’s happening in the UK and Europe with great sympathy, having just made it through about five years of heatwaves, drought, dust storms and bushfires and we wouldn’t wish that on anybody. Incidentally, we’ve gone from record breaking heatwaves to record breaking floods (with a big fat dose of covid in the middle) but it’s made a few people actually take the whole climate situation a bit more seriously so hopefully better times are coming. Stay safe and hydrated mate!
This is definitely one of my favorite builds now, especially with all the patron pieces in there, it’s a beautiful collaboration. I also love story time with Bill
I’ve been slowly building a 1:18 scale space port and city, and this was a cool bit of lore and a great explanation of use of “real world” parts like the wing and crane arm.
I always love hearing about lore. It's one of my favorite things to think of and everyone always has so many different ideas. You can take a general idea like "junk planet" and add so many little personal touches to it that it becomes entirely unique. So uh short answer is yes more lore please haha
There, there, BIll! Of course we all **see** Cat! Try not to sniff the super glue & keep doing what the voices in your head say! Well done...what an awesome build!
Bill, the voices at the beginnings are cracking me up lately. This one was like a proper and decent Gollum. The BUILD is insane level!!!!! (Which makes sense for sure, but... man... soooooooooooo much detail.)
BILL! An ad is playing so I have a moment to add to my comments: You nailed "eclectic" for sure. And I 100% see the Ghibli vibe/inspiration. And lastly, I've got to make me up a bottle of Crustard.
I love that Irn Bru still exists on post-apocalyptic hellscapes - it's probably even better with the space-girders of the far future! Loving the lore and how it ties the different creations together!
Wow. GREAT build. Those patreon shelves are beautiful! And with this great building (the wing👍👍) and your shop counter. All the little signs… Loved this one!
Really enjoying seeing this town take shape and loving the lore behind it. Getting vibes of that trash planet from the film Soldier starring Kurt Russell.
ALso I really enjoy learning about the lore of the world you're building, it's really fun and gives such a richness and interest to all of your creations. Wonderful!
All your builds for this planet you’re creating are reminding me of the setting for the movie Soldier staring Kurt Russell. If you haven’t seen it, Kurt Russell’s character ends up on a planet that’s essentially used as a giant landfill covered in mountains of rusty scrap. He finds a small society of people who have all been stranded there with no way to escape and simply use the trash and scrap of the planet to forge their own survival. Might be a good source of inspiration for your future builds.

Yes 👏👏
The posh people call it Respité
Or a pub, or a inn/pub!
That's so sick

I am
I dont even know what accent that was in the intro, but I love it.
Also, I get spiders living in all my terrain too. The struggle is real.
Right!
Im loving the lore of this world, the builds have always been really cool, but knowing they are all part of one universe is just that extra level of awesome! and as always the humor never disappoints. lol
I love hearing about the lore lol I’d read a book about it but this is such an interesting medium to experience it through
Agreed... A book in this world would be fascinating!
Well put! 👍 Absolutely.

Yeah you absolutely should keep working on that dollhouse project and share it with us. You know, just in case you exist. Better safe than sorry.
I'm happy that all the stuff from us patreons came in so well in this build. Since we are scattered all over the world we'll never meet, but in this build we are somehow phisicaly united. Thanks for this oppurtunity to build something together.
Nice way of thinking about it
so well spoken

I did it for you... thanks for noticing
@@BillMakingStuff Thank you, what a gift
One of the things I appreciate most about this channel is the humour. That hot weather bit was absolutely fantastic.

Oh I love watching Bill making stuff :)
Episode 50 soon.. 50 beatbots having a themeparty set in the 50's ? :)
So initially seeing the image, my first thought was exactly Red Rocket! This is by far my favorite build you've done. All the randomness really sells it as being used daily. I absolutely love this piece! Great inspiration as always Bill, thank you!!
Welcome
Possibly my favourite build so far. A whole town this detailed would be glorious.
Wow, a brick montage and rivet montage in one video!
You're welcome
You really are outsourcing your content creation now
COL-LAB-O-RA-TION
@@BillMakingStuff Such a fancy word...so many syllables!
It's a great idea to include builds from your Patreons. The items that they made look great. I really like your Trading Post. Nice work!
Thanks mate!
One of my favorite builders.. better still; whenever someone accuses me of being, oh, I don’t know, a tad off center, I can just show them one of your videos. Has a decided tendency to recalibrate their expectations, as it were. Keep on keeping on, dude.
Im here for the Lore as much, if not more than the build itself
I like how the story is beginning to emerge from your collection of builds you've made/making
Love the aspect of people sending in little pieces 😭🥺❤️👏 everyone is so talented
Hi Bill, just found your channel recently from browsing for kitbashing ideas and in the last week or two have been binging your videos. I know.
dude this build was fire, loved the bits of lore. Well done Patrons!
Hottest day of the year and he still wore the 'Bill' jacket. In the attic! What a trooper!
Lovely, Bill, keep it going. Your videos make the depression hit less.
Awesome Bill! I love the patreons additions too!
Hot weather is poop. Hope it gets cooler for you soon!
You asked if we can see what now? A cat, you say? What cat?
Story time with Bill is excellent! I loved seeing you collab with Patrons, too, that’s really unique and quite fun.
I give you a thumb up just for the time and effort taken to do the bricklaying sequence in post.
Even though you don't like painting too much, you've really gone above and beyond with it this time. Fantastic work.
“Hot Town …USA” yep, that’s about right. You’re such an inspiration! I love what you do!
Ah...so you outsourced bits to produce this marvel to your minions....er..PATRONs...I see. You are like the Andy Warhol of the hobby world!
"Factory" the heck outa of it and you will never run out of accessories...GENIUS! Admirable build sir as always.
The notification came up just as I was about to have lunch and I'm glad for that!
I was about to go to bed 😝
Bill first…then bed
The shelf collab is such a cool idea! Everything looks great!

Thanks mate
Of course Cat is real. He's the star of this channel, Cat Making Stuff.
Intenso!!! lets make it youthspeak :)
I love story time with Bill! This is amazing, I think it's great how everyone added to it. They today saved your butt on this one buddy.
That second timelapse was riveting. Superb build and a great collaboration too! AND a new t-shirt slogan... "what do you mean, you don't exist?"
Absolutely! I thought postmodern humour was dead, but our boy delivers every time.
Honestly, I watch so many miniature buildings and towns especially industrial/steampunk stuff and these are like the coolest things I've seen someone make, I can't believe I only now seen your channel.
Spectacular build, and I love the community/colab aspect too
I really like this episode Bill. I think your Respite buildings might just be your best stuff yet. I would love to see some more (maybe a cafe or a hostel?). BTW cat does exist. I can see him!
Yes to story time with Bill ✅
As always, beautiful build and so intricate with all the shelves from patrons. Thank you!
I think this might be my favorite build you've ever done, the way the different junk pieces came together in the end looked fantastic and all of that detail on the roof... so good! Also I want to steal that hook on the rope from that crane toy, would be so perfect for what I'm working on right now hahaha~
Pop over here and you can have the hook. Thanks for watching Devon. I'm actually in Devon right now... on my way to Cornwall. I just read that back...
I feel like at this point the planet should be called Rust! I absolutely love the lore that you're presenting here. It's really cool and adds so much to your builds!
Loving the lore of your planet. You could do a saloon or something next.
Well stocked trading post 👍🏻
Thank you for the brick and rivet montage!! I'm sure they're a pain to do but honestly they and your stories make my day better.
Man.. Your videos are great. The humour, lighting, editing, your craft and of course Cat. It's a joy to watch.
I think I speak for everyone when I say we enjoy the lore and want more

Awesome job Bill (and Patrons)! Great vid, as always. Thanks all round.
