Finding the right exhaust to make the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, or 2023 Fastback EcoBoost Mustang sound great is definitely a hot topic. This exhaust system is going to bolt to the stock down pipe and lead to a Y pipe. It will then flow through some mandrel bent pipes, into the Race mufflers, finishing off with a set of 4 1/2" black coated tips. The Race exhaust is MBRP's loudest and most aggressive system, and everything required for installation is included.
**This will NOT fit convertibles.**
Note: This system is NOT designed for use with 2019 EcoBoost models that are equipped with the Active Exhaust Option from the factory.

@WD-tr7pq just what I said. "Ford Performance" Ford and Borla collaborated to make their version of a race exhaust.
It’s so weird how much hate there is for the Ecoboost online. Subaru has a turbo 4 banger , Mitsubishi evo has a turbo 4 banger , Nissan Sylvia is a turbo 4 banger , Eclipse DSM is a turbo 4 banger , GTi is a turbo 4 banger , Golf R is a turbo 4 banger , Focus STand RS are both turbo 4 bangers. So many tuner cars with huge HP performance numbers and yet the Mustang gets hate .
Why can’t people just be true enthusiasts .
the mustang is supposed to be an american muscle car not a japanese tuner car.
that’s why the mustang gets so much hate compared to those other cars.
Also, the focus wasn’t known to be a sports or muscle car in the past

Installed the all stainless, non resonator model. Sounds really nice and low. Good growl on the gas. Have a PerfPack equipped with MMR CAI and a BamaTune (93) will be dyno'd soon. But even the seat of the pant's dyno feels obvious. I'm always amazed that the V8 crowd can't just settle down and be car guys. Appreciate a good motor for what it is. For the $, this thing cranks. Better yet, it even handles nice.
Matthew Marino I'm considering getting this exhaust. I really like the deep sound of it, but I do also like turbo spool sound too. Do you get much of that spool sound with this exhaust? Also, is it super loud? Don't want the neighbors to hate me lol Would be cool to get a firsthand perspective

I have this system and it’s amazing. very loud but almost no drone when driving. i do usually have the radio on 10 and the air on but even without sound or air there is still no drone great system

With my 2020 ecoboost mustang, I’m thinking of going with this exhaust , I’ve just installed the cvf downpipe which sounds great , now going for a cold air intake and then this exhaust and a tune !!! Very cool video

Sounds very good. Not bad for a budget exhaust imo. If you live in a warm climate, or don't drive your car during the winter months, just get the aluminized version and save the money.

For anyone wondering. This fits a convertible. Just remove the brace, use a jack to pry up the y pipe plate. With enough trial and error Ull find the right fit. Tighten everything then u can release the jack and put the bracket back on. Zero drone (maybe I got lucky). Quiet when u want it to be, loud when u want.
I have this exhaust on my 2015 mustang, the cold start sound so damn good :D

How does the MBRP set up size up to the Flowmaster Outlaw axle backs? I like how deep the MBRP is, but Ive heard alot about the drone being bad at 2-2.5k RPM. I've also heard a lot of good about the Flowmaster's, but it doesn't seem to sound as good as the MBRP's in videos. Any suggestions?

What other Mods does this Ecoboost have to make it have that low growl? I watched other consumer uploads and they aren't quite this low. That low growl is what I'm looking for.

How terrible are the clamps on these systems, do they tend to leak? Seem like there are a lot of these clamp on systems that start leaking pretty often. I just got mine installed and I like the deeper tone but there is resonance around the cabin that makes the stereo music hard to hear I think they need to increase the wall thickness of the pipes to kind of push the pressures towards the back, I think that would make them a little quieter inside the cabin. Borla has some very cool sounding systems, but at a higher cost one aspect you must consider as in my case. I would not recommend this particular system for a daily driver. Just my 2 cents.

Yes it will fit. Fastback is just the body style of the mustang.

I bought this but it came in 3 different parts, the muffler with the tip, the y pipe and another pipe that connects from the y pipe to the muffler. Now it keeps falling how can i fix it? It just keeps falling
The kit has to come in pieces to be able to ship it, the supplied clamps should have no problems keeping it together if they were tightened properly but an exhaust shop could tack them in place if needed. - Bill
Would this be too loud for a convertible? I like the "deep tone," but it is hard to judge how loud it really is. How much benefit would someone get from pairing this with the MBRP catted downpipe vs stock downpipe, and would this impact the cars tuning?
It won't fit convertibles (read description)
This is not true. If you look on the MBRP web site (mbrpautomotive.com/index.php?page=products&part=S7275409) and read the installation instructions, it explains what to do with the convertible. You just have to remove the undercar brace, install the pipes, and return the brace.
Bill: Any chance you can check with MBRP whether this exhaust works with the convertible, as their instruction sheet indicates, and whether it would be "too loud?" I tried contacting them, but could never get a response. I am still curious about the volume of this vs street, although I may just give up and go with the Magnaflow Street, when we get the car out of winter storage. I was planning to get a professional to install it.
It will only work if you remove the factory braces. Too Loud is subjective, everyone's tolerance of loud will be different.
I called MBRP today. They said the exhaust will fit the convertible, but you do just need to remove and replace the brace like said up above. However they said just once in awhile there may be a little bit of rattle

The two color rear valance is factory on the premium cars. The carbon fiber piece is from 3D Carbon, we have several options on our website.

Best exhaust possible, video doesnt do it justice. Also just installed a mishimoto downpipe and it sounds godly.

Did you tune the car too? From what I've read, if you add a 3" downpipe with the mbrp exhaust you'll get a check engine light warning unless you add a tuner.

Suggest you call Customer Service at MBRP. I have a 2019 Mustang Ecoboost Convertible . Rep suggest “Street” model rather than the Race model. And yes, either model can be installed with very minor adjustment

+Jarad Reimer The magnaflow and the this MBRP are pretty close. Neither is particularly deep but that's tough to get without only 4 cylinders

+Arfan Khawaja The Magnaflow street is on the quieter side and the Race is on the other side of the spectrum on the louder side. If you want something that does both well the MBRP Street or the Borla S type so a good job.

You can get them off with a small pry bar, the tool just makes it easier.

Hey Bill, I really appreciate and like your videos. I haven't got my ecoboost mustang convertible yet. I am this coming spring though. I have been looking at the comments and seen one close to mine,but want make sure and clarify a bit. I am used to the V8 sounds. just wanted to ask. which exhaust would make a closer sound similar to a v8 type of sound. I want it to be deep like a v8 and a little noticeable too. I'm used to pulling up to a light or cruising with a noticeable sound and growl. just don't want it going silent really. mbrp race or MagnaFlow comp. I was thinking mbrp race. Thanks for your help in advance. getting my research
+Tim Foster None of them will give you a V8 sound, the Magnaflows probably had the deepest tone. The MBRP too

The magnaflow seems to keep the deeper richer tone throughout. even at a idle. I'm sure there better in person. what would you pick? I might be leaning towards the magnaflow comp. California I’m pretty sure doesn’t allow any exhaust mods, but I could be wrong
The only CA restriction I’m aware of is for the down pipe. You can’t replace the stock down pipe with any aftermarket options (thank you CARB - groan). As long as you don’t mess with the stock down pipe, you can pretty much put any aftermarket option that doesn’t exceed a decibel limit (not sure what that is, but it makes the resonator/muffler delete a non-starter).
