Every bike should have heated grips, they really make riding better in cold weather. I went the Oxford route, for less than $60. You can order the replacement heated grips for them, and then a 2-pack of Yamaha connectors(same as turn signals) and then just cut the Oxford plugs off and solder on the Yamaha plugs, and plug them right in and the dash recognizes them and lets you control them like OEM. They work on your bike, as well as my new MT-10
no i dont but i have the link to the heated grips that i bought directly from Yamaha www.yamaha-motor.eu/gb/en/accessories/motorcycles/pdp/grip-heaters-bam-829a0-00-00/
Thanks a lot for this! What kind of grease are you using on the throttle grip? It seems to be from Biltema? Curious, what is the purpose of the grease? And what is the spray you use for cleaning? Thanks!
Yes they are behind the headlamp prepared to be connected just for the heated grips. if you buy the original from Yamaha you dont need to know if it is 2 or 3 wires. if i have to guess i guess its 3 its nothing i checked because the connectors fits perfectly and its all original connectors. And now after being out driving 3 times with them i have to say that i dont regret a single second that i bought them. i fucking love them. i have them on 5 out of 10 i think that is perfect heat for my hands. i recommend to get theese if you have problems with freezing hands while driving :)
@@guffemoto That's exactly why I'm asking, Yamahas heated grips are crap grip wise compared to the rubber on the stock non heated ones. And ridiculous price.. So I'm going to get another brand of heaters and curious if I can make em work like that, and not feeding them directly from battery with separate switch. 😅
@@Ruudan Ahh i understand. then i do not know. i dont feel like taking apart the headlight again to find out :) but if i do i can measure the voltage to find out if 2 cables are 12 volt + and - and the third is the signal that makes the grips varm from 0-10 on the display
i think all MT-09 Gen 3 have this option. i might be wrong. atleast over here in europe we have this option. can you please confirm if its diffrence in the states
maybe it needs to be activated by diagnostic tool from yamaha? also if you search on youtube "heated grips mt 09 2024" you see a guy who connects an aftermerket grips to gen 4 yamaha and has an grip warmer option on dash, also in manual you see grip warmers, maybe later yamaha wil provide new heat grips as accesory for the gen 4, i got fooled and order my yamaha with heated grips with turn out to be yamahas universal grips hooked directly to battery :(

does the cable on the right side move when twisting the throttle or is it fixed in place? Thanks
it moves a little. nothing that disturbs you don't even notice it
So there are connectors for that behind the headlamp 👍
How many pins in the connectors? 2 or 3 per handle?
