Your video brought back a lot of memories for me as my dad had one, I’m 70, and we used it so much we had to replace the burner at least three time and the pan quite a few more times. When my dad passed away I inherited it and used it till I passed it on to my son who is still using it. We used it for trout and the occasional salmon. We used a canvas tarp to protect it from the rain which my son also has. Thanks for the memories
Stop rotation ! Heat dump never catches up . It takes an hour to heat up a Little Chief . It is a very kind unit even if it could take way less time for process
@@KenRogersMostlyOutdoors I love any meat smoking contributions. We all are muddling through . If I knew everything I would not be here. Thanks for your video!

Great video. I learned how to smoke fish when I was a kid with a little chief smoker and I have been a fanboy ever since. Fish is my all-time favorite for this smoker but jerky is also great. I did London broil jerky the other day on the Big Chief.
great genuine video. Similar to Ray Lusk I've grown up here and have a couple of these. Thought i'd see what I could see on the subject before I make some jerky. Glad my deer roast is fully frozen so I can let it thaw for a day and slice thin with ease!
bro i have used a lil cheif to make jerky .i use 3 pans of wood chip and cook time is around 6 to 8 hours.depending on outside temp and i use maple chips.
Heyo Ken great cook definitely worth the time to get that smoke flavor. A little disappointing for Charley a Hazzard free cook lol 😆. Take care and have a great weekend. Cheers
Get a good knife ,use soy sauce in your marinade and coat with black pepper before putting in smoker. Gotta use more chips and less opening the unit. Just set it and leave it go. I just bought a vintage unused little chief and I plan to make beef jerky my first project in it.
I’m going to say yes on that one. And… I’m learning to not rotate as often. I don’t think you need to in this smoker. Thanks for watching! I love this little smoker.
@@KenRogersMostlyOutdoors that's what I was thinking, opening it up that often makes the cook time longer due to loss of heat, but it's been a few months any new tips?
I guess it's time to make me some beef jerky because that looks so good Ken 😋 Question, why a half pan of pecan next time? Was there too much smoke? Just curious.
The meat is so thin that it doesn't take much to over smoke the meat. This batch wasn't too bad, but I think a little less would bad been better. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Yes, it does matter. That video was shot not long after I got it myself. You don’t need to check it as often as I did in that video. Perhaps every few hours.

Fantastic Smoked Beef Jerky Ken, Little Chief has done an amazing job!!!!
Thank you... I love my beef jerky!
I just got a little chief smoker! Thanks for this! You are a pleasure to listen to and watch! Keep the content coming!
SUBBED!
Awesome… I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I’m still very much a student of this one, but I’m having a blast. Thanks so much for watching!
Nice job on the first cook with the smoker. Wanna send a few pieces my way?? Lol
As always thanks for having us over.
Thanks so much! Jerky don’t last too long around here! lol
Awesome!!❤❤ Happy Blessed Holidays
Thanks so much… Merry Christmas!
Good job Ken!! Looks good.

Thanks so much! London broil is great for jerky.
Great looking jerky sir! The Little Chief looks to be a good little unit 👍
I thinks it’s going to work out fine. They make a larger one, but I think this one will work better for me. Thanks!
Great video man, I have a little chief that I use for trout. I'm about to buy a 2nd chief for jerky. Thanks for sharing and God bless you too brother.
Thanks so much! I love using this thing!

Thanks so much! I haven’t made any jerky in awhile. I really need to make a batch!
That’s a pretty cool little smoker Ken! Doing your own beef jerky is the way to go and that worked out really well. Happy Sunday to you!
Thanks buddy! I really liked the results. Next batch will be better.
that's some awesome jerky!
Thank ya, girl!

Very cool! I haven’t used maple chips yet on jerky. I need to look into that. Thanks!
After your marinade time try dusting it all with black pepper and chilli flakes
I may just do that, thanks for the tip!

lol This was almost completely painless! And it was quite tasty. Thanks, my friend!

Hey Ken, love the video. I'm thinking of buying this smoker. If the strips of meat are cut thinner, dry time would be cut in half?
I’m going to say yes on that one. And… I’m learning to not rotate as often. I don’t think you need to in this smoker. Thanks for watching! I love this little smoker.

Should you soak the woodchips in water first?
Great Question! Some do, but I do NOT! If you soak them, you will get steam before smoke. I want smoke from the start. Great question… thank you!
Just picked up a little chief smoker. Does it not matter about the temp dropping from opening the door so frequently?
Thanks for watching! Yes, it does matter. That video was shot not long after I got it myself. You don’t need to check it as often as I did in that video. Perhaps every few hours.
Great video! can’t wait to watch more

Thanks so much!
I think you maybe should have done some more wood Chips
Perhaps, but Jerky can easily be over smoked. Thanks!
Semi freeze that meat then slice very thin will require less smoking time.
Always good advice… thanks!
