Node Mechanics and Nodes in general will probably be *THE. most. interesting* part of the whole Game. It is kinda like the Players themselves are only the Main Character to a maximum of like 50% and the other 50% will be the Nodes themselves. *x'D*
good video dude. you earned a sub. i bought an alpha 2 key a couple years ago but haven't really been paying too much attention to it up until recently. super pumped for October 25th!
Great video as always. I was surprised to learn that crafting scales as you continue to craft the same items, however the one sink you missed was the siege scroll. The siege scroll is to cost about the same as the cost of building the node.
They have an economist to help them. The biggest problem is real life economy is based on perpetual growth and that is a not true in a computer game (or in real life). Computer game's economies work as people are levelling and then completely break once everyone reaches end games. They have to keep issuing expansions to keep artificially creating growth. I think Ashes are going to create story arcs that inflict natural disasters on every node. For instance: floods, meteor strikes and PvE invasions, that constantly knock nodes down and consume resources. I just think that people who think the game is going to be easily cheesed, zerged, or broken, within 6 months are completely insane. You are getting the real deal here, which is why it is taking so long. I am also not sure that the game is taking that long. Civ7 for example has a much smaller scope and has been in development for many years, and that was an already established games developer. We just found out about AoC very early in the development process and it is using a design methodology which uses a lot of customer feedback.

@@TheToledoTrumpton I made a mistake in my comment. I missed a "do not". Bottom line = if AoE take advice from modern educated economists, their economy will be sort of dogshit. (modern economic theory is horrible).
There is nothing wrong with economic theory, it is just that most people don't understand it. We don't hear much from pure economists anymore, they have all been politicized and/or censored. Economic reality is far to harsh and unforgiving than most modern liberals can stand. These days it is all about what your needs are and equality. Economics tends to be more based on rewarding people based on what they contribute/produce, not what they need, can take, or what everyone else gets. Luckily in a game like AoC, we do want people to get rewarded based what they earn.
How do you know it is the BEST MMO ECONOMY? it is not even released at all and at least 5 more years for this game to game if it ever comes at all, lol ...

AoC will have a good economy, if they avoid take any advice from the "modern economists" crowd - those guys are complete idiots.
