In this video I shine the world’s brightest flashlight (32,000 lumen) into my mouth in order to attempt to shoot light out of my eyes! This crazy experiment shows you how you can shine light through the human body. Other comments have asked if I saw red light during it. I did the test again after this video to observe what I see: Yes you definitely can see red light! If you leave your eyes open then it appears as a hazy red over your vision. But it is very easy to see when your eyes are closed. When your eyes are closed, it looks almost exactly the same as when your eyes are closed and you “look” at a bright light so that you see a red color. In that case the red color is due to the light going through your eyelids. But with the flashlight in the mouth it’s really weird because there is no light hitting the front of your face. Also, a really cool other observation. As I turn the flashlight up in brightness I see red starting at the top of my eye moving towards the bottom as it gets brighter. But that makes sense because the images on your retina are actually flipped by the brain due to your eyes flipping the image in order to make things still the right side up. So really the bottom of my retina is getting lit up first because it’s closer to the bottom of my face towards the flashlight, but my brain flips the image so it seems like the top of my retina has light on it! This is soo cool. It’s a way to bypass the eyes and not have the image flipped so that you can see light that hasnt gone through your eyes. This is a very good experiment to show that your eyes flip the image and your brain flips it back the “right” way. So cool!

Try taking a long exposure photo from the side while you shine light from your eyes to see if a beam can be captured coming from your eyes! (Like the real version of the thumbnail).

Nice vid. I'm a physician, and I've used the flashlight in the mouth many times for what I refer to as "The poor man's X-ray" of sinuses. Now that insurance companies, and their clerks, control the level of medical care you get for your exorbitant insurance premiums, more often than not, I'm told that sinus x-rays are not necessary to manage a patient's care. My solution is the poor man's trick. Shine a bright light into the mouth, and the sinuses SHOULD light up. (Your right sinus, by the way, did not, even with the 10million lumen gizmo). Light up, insurance carrier was right, I didn't need an X-ray. One side lights up, the other doesn't, well, patient has a problem. As for glycemia, just keep in mind that blood glucose levels in capillaries will be lower than in central blood vessels. That is why venous blood is used to measure blood sugars, and finger sticks only monitor progress. Of course a continuous A1c level, or better yet, fructosamine levels, both analogous to oxy-hemoglobin would be a great parameter for diabetes monitoring. Now back to your sinuses. Your left retina illuminated, that was the red spot we saw. Your right, like the maxillary sinus, did not illuminate. Speak to your physician about a possible Ear-Nose-Throat evaluation. You might need a real X-ray, or better yet, a sinus protocol CT scan. My 2 cents.

Isn't is possible that the reason for your red eyes is due to reflection? I mean, did you looked into a screen or a lens while videoing it? As evidence see 3:50 where you move your head up and down and the red reflection is clearly visible only when your eyes are directly in front of the reflective item.

I'm more worried about the skin in his mouth. the multi-thousand lumen flashlights are not as powerful as a laser carrying the same amount of energy but essentially that's a matter of concentration. It's like the difference between a water-jet cutter and a 6-inch diameter hole in a water main. The water main probably _won't_ blow a hole through your flesh but you still probably shouldn't shoot it into your face. That said, the water would probably be more extreme than the light.

Every October, I work as a tech for a live circus sideshow/stunt show. Think sword swallowing, sword ladder, that sort of thing. And one of the stunts the guy does is a basic sword swallow, but the "blade" has LED strips on each side, so that when he swallows it, the light shines through the top of his chest and his throat and is the coolest thing. Also provokes the best reaction from the audience.

About the blood sugar wristband: I recently (but since a few years) saw a TV avertisement of alittle white button that you stick on your arm and whenever you tap your phone with their app against it it shows the blood sugar level.

I was wondering wether you could measure the blood glucose level through the eyes by this method. Is it possilble to measure the blood glucose by shining light through the eyes? What Would change if skin was used instead of eyes to mesure the result if light was directly/indirectly shines on them?
At 6:45 i saw that the edges of where the video shows black kinda pulse. Does this have a connection to your heart rate? Or is this just a video camera thing?
