I pray the rosary in Latin according to the 1962 missal, which claims that the prayer is comprised of the signum cruci, Pater Noster, the Ave Maria, and the Gloria Patri, with all other prayers being considered pious additions. This could be attractive to me as I’m simply unable to memorize such lengthy prayer as the credo in Latin. Perhaps in the future.

We use Latin because the meaning of words cannot be changed!

I'm 69 and grew up with the Latin Mass however I have never prayed the rosary in Latin as we were not taught. I think the rosary in English is just as pleasing to Mary. Mind you I'm thinking of learning it as I only know how to bless myself in Latin and follow Latin Mass. Xx

I don't know if you'll ever see this but I just found your channel. I was raised Catholic and my grandmother used to take me to the Cathedral down the street. I was only 3 but learned to sight-read Latin. I loved Catholicism when I was little and my little mind was filled with the Latin. They went to NO a few years later and I abandoned the faith. I eventually became Presbyterian and still am but I still pine away for the beautiful Latin and still use all my passwords in Latin. I miss Latin. Had the Latin remained I'd probably still be Catholic. I'm following you b/c of my constant love of the Latin. If you don't mind having a reformer in your midst, I'll continue to follow and try to relearn the ancient language that speaks to my heart.

I think most important thing in prayer is to understand and embrace it with your whole heart. God created people so diverse so he must know all the languages right? Latin happened to be to language of Romans at that time who had the Bishop of Rome. Infact Bible was written originally in Greek so if you ask Greek Orthodoxs they have the original language.Although Jesus spoke in Aramaic which is totally different. At the end everyone speaks and prays from their hearts and God knows it ❤

I’ve been waiting for this video !! Thank you for sharing!!
When I fist attended my 1st TLM last summer, I was hooked! I had a super deeper conversion into my faith that I wanted to pray in Latin and live out my faith every day (instead of settling for just Sundays) just like the Saints did and my ancestors. I committed to learning the Holy Rosary (Pater Noster, Creed, Ave Maria , Salve Regina, Litany and St. Michael prayer) in Latin and the Divine Mercy Chaplet . I’ve been praying it every day along with the Angelus 3 times a day and the morning prayer every day and I’m will be praying all of this in Latin until the end of my days. It’s changed my life radically . My Father got me my Fr. Lasance Latin Missal for my birthday and I carried that book with me every where . I immersed myself in Latin . My 3 year old daughter knows the Angelus , Pater Noster, Ave Maria and the Divine Mercy Chaplet in Latín and it makes me soooo happy 🥰 I just feel more connected to my prayers and to God when I pray in an ancient Holy language that was around Our Lord Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago and it’s the language of our Church .
When I first listened to Latin , I picked up some of it with my Spanish but my soul understood its beauty and sacredness .
I’m going to learn how to pray before and after meals :) which I found on PrayLatin.com 🤗 will be purchasing it 🤍 thank you for your hard work and inspiring us with your faith. God bless you and your family ✝️🤍

I attended a high school seminary and studied Latin for 6 years both in high school and college. It saddens me because I go to a parish that has both a Hispanic community and English-speaking community which never interact because we have masses in both languages. Second, after my first year of Latin I knew that the translations we were using for mass were not correct. I was glad when we went to a more authentic translation about 10 years ago. However, I have said the mis translations so many times and still do for my private prayers that I need to pull out the missal during mass to recite them correctly now.

I've been watching videos on how to pray in Latin on TH-cam (some are really good, others go a bit fast and it's hard to follow). If I could do the entire rosary, that would be a great start but until then, I just say it in English. My Australian accent is a hindrance when it comes to pronunciation sometimes 😄
I agree having a universal tongue is important for the Church. It's something we can all share regardless of where you are. I have heard priests say that demons hate Latin and many prayers are more efficacious in Latin, that's what motivated me to start.

Good afternoon. I'm a Protestant pastor, but in the TH-cam algorithm I had a suggestion for the video on your objection to viewing the Chosen series. I have watched a few others in the spirit of dialogue and with this one I have two questions I'd like to ask. Please understand that this is not meant as any sort of "gotcha" or argumentative spirit, but rather I'm a bit unfamiliar with your position and would like to better understand your basis for it.
Question 1: you mention that prayer in Latin would help you and other participants to understand one another instead of vernacular languages, and I can understand your argument there. But the question I have would these not be traditional and common prayers, and would that not mean that even though you don't speak the vernacular language wouldn't you be able to understand what the others are saying and what they mean? For example, if they are praying the sign of the cross, or the Lord's prayer, or the Apostles Creed you might not recognize their vernacular words, but you understand what the words are in English and their meaning?
Question 2: You mention several times that Satan, or our Enemy hates Latin. I am familiar with some Roman Catholic concepts, but I am not familiar with this one. What is the basis for this statement? Perhaps somewhat related, I am curious as to why Mary would be more excited to hear to hear prayers in Latin.
Again, I don't ask in disrespect but rather to better understand your basis and reasoning. Thank you.
    Travis.

Hello. My name is Chris and I am Deena’s husband. She’s unable to answer your questions herself at this time, but I help her out a lot with comments and I’d like to offer the following to your questions.
I want to start by thanking you for the respectful and charitable way in which you asked your questions. We always welcome questions or comments from people of good will who may be from another faith as long as they conduct themselves the way you have.
The Catholic Church (“The Church”) has always taught that the enemy is very real, and is very active in our lives (1 Peter 5:8-9). The exorcism rites of The Church, which are very strong and are used regularly to defeat the enemy were originally written in Latin and are still widely used. Exorcists have always testified that the demons they expel absolutely hate Latin.
Father Chad Ripperger, one of the most “famous” exorcists has also reported that since The Church issued the exorcism rites in the vernacular, it’s been a lot harder to exorcise demons like that so they end up having to revert back to the Latin texts.
Besides being a part of Holy Scripture, which makes The languages of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew sacred, those languages were affixed to the instrument of our salvation (the cross), and the demon knows the relationship Latin has to the cross. It’s also why all three languages are used in the Catholic Mass. God chose those languages from all the languages to be the ones affixed to the cross, which is another reason they’re sacred.
Because Latin is a sacred language, it is therefore, objectively speaking more pleasing to God.
Latin also became the official language of the Church, so it became the language of the mystical body of Christ.
In terms of the shared language (Latin), it’s more a matter of our being able to *pray along* with the Mass no matter where we are in the world as opposed to simply understanding. For example, if we were in the Philippines, and the language being used there in that Mass was Filipino (or Tagalog), we’d have a very hard time following it, much less praying along (and would probably lose our place within the prayer-even if it’s a prayer common throughout The Church). It also has at least a bit to do with the universality aspect of The Church.
As for our Blessed Mother being “more excited” to hear our prayers in Latin, I’ll refer you back to what Deena said and also reiterate the sacred aspect of the language. Being that she is in Heaven and is surrounded with only holiness (as well as being holy herself), we feel Mary would quite enjoy the fact that we are working hard to learn the sacred language, which by the way has helped us as a family in so many ways grow closer to Christ.
She always points us to her Son (“my soul doth magnify The Lord….” Luke 1:46-55) who is the *only* way to salvation and to The Father, and as Jesus gave her to us (and us to her) from the cross, we know she is praying for us and is walking this path with us, so we know she looks at us as her children. She gave us the Rosary to pray and if we can endeavor to learn it in the sacred language, we feel she loves it. The Rosary is a continual reflection and meditation on different aspects of the life of Christ and is such a gift.
I hope this helps to answer your questions. If you have any others, please feel free to email them to Deena and either she or I can address them. I absolutely love sharing about the Catholic Faith and love engaging with others about it. God bless you and thanks again for your cordiality.
